Sketchy neighborhood/area

From the photos of the property I was excited to rent it. I should have known something might be iffy given there are only two reviews and they are from a year ago but I decided to take a chance. The neighbors two houses down (you can throw a rock and hit it though) were having a knock down drag out verbal argument with profanity so strong I was afraid someone might pull out a gun and start shooting. We left after 30 minutes. I was only offered a "sorry for any inconvenience" from the property owner when I told her. Beware of this property, location is not great.

Nowhere to put clothes

I would give 5 stars for the owners and their responsiveness. When I informed them there were insufficient dishes, silverware & towels, they quickly delivered more. They mowed, cleaned the outside & sprayed for bugs, taking good care of the property. There was a good wifi connection, smart TV good too. The flooring has been updated and was nice. The back yard was the best part. Lots of chairs, gas grill, lots of shade, a shaded dining table on a deck. However, I would not give 5 stars to the interior. In this 1950s house, the electrical outlets were sparse with none at all in the bathroom. No dressers or shelves to put our clothes, so we lived out of our suitcases which wouldn’t fit on the floor due to the small size of the bedrooms only being slightly larger than the beds. This house is very small (620 sq ft.) No screens on windows so cannot open up and no screen doors. It would have been nice to get fresh air inside during this wonderful Florida weather. The central air conditioning however was wonderful. Parking is on the street only. No dishwasher and no coin laundry as listed. We have rented dozens of vacation rentals over the years and this one was below average. We were sadly unable to use the provided bikes, which was one of the things we were attracted to in renting this place. The seats couldn’t be raised enough for our heights and older knees (we are only 5’6” & 5’11”) and seemed more appropriate for teens or less. One seat was permanently rusted where it is. Otherwise the bikes looked in good shape and they would have been fun, and fairly close to the Pinellas Trail.

Nice little clean house.

We enjoyed the closeness to Clearwater Beach and the bicycles provided. We took many rides on the Pinellas Trail to Dunedin which has lots of things to do. The house was clean and comfortable and our hosts also provided us with beach supplies.

Beach area getaway.

The property was small and cozy. Huge back yard for kids. Close to Dunedin and beaches. The area was quiet except the house was in a neighborhood that was a bit uncomfortable with the surroundings. Had to park the vehicle on the lawn. The area was very well lit. I would also suggest replacing the pots and pans with better ones and putting a strip on the bottom of the entrance door which had an inch opening to the outside. We used a towel to cover the space. The pillows where very flat. We had to borrow some from my Aunt. The property owner was quick to respond to our questions. All in all it was okay.
