Get Cozy in the Country - The Cottage on Luca Hill
A rural stay just 4 miles from the increasingly popular town of St. James. On the farm, you’ll enjoy gorgeous sunsets by the firepit, view the cattle grazing just feet away, and get cozy inside the newly furnished Cottage. Well known for its award winning wineries and dining, STJ also offers various specialty shops and lets not forget the gorgeous Meramec Springs and surrounding rivers. MO S&T and Fort Leonard Wood are just a short drive along I-44 as well. It would be our pleasure to host you! The space The Cottage is situated on our 75 acre cattle farm that has been in the family since the 1950’s. Over the years different family members have lived on the farm and have very much enjoyed the beauty it offers. We are pleased to share The Cottage with guests who we hope will think the property is special as well. And worth mentioning is our excellent location on Hwy 68, just a couple of miles from Spencer Manor Winery, then head into town where you’ll find the award winning Sybill’s Restaurant, Public House Brewing Company and St. James Winery, Country Bobs, Jitter Beans Coffee, Exit 11 Coffee, Ruby’s Ice Cream, and Rich’s Burgers just to name a few of the various selections for food and drink. Wanna take a wine tour, gather friends and family and book the Gateway Trolley. If you’re in the mood to shop, check out The Little Brick House Modern Home Goods and Gifts, Sybill’s Gift Shop, One Sixteen Clothing Boutique, SJ Nature Shop, Huffman’s Garden Center, Leatherwood Cigars, and multiple antique shops. Head South of town on Hwy 68 to try out our beautiful 9 hole golf course and further on takes you to Meramec Springs Park, open to the public for viewing the trout hatchery, camping, fishing, or having a picnic at one of the shelters available in the park. Whether visiting for business or pleasure, you will surely be impressed with what our special Ozark town has to offer. Guest access The driveway onto the property is shared with the owners who live just across from The Cottage. The designated parking area for guests is to the righthand side of the house just in front of two large stocktank planters. Parking is flexible, we just ask that the main driveway and path through to the cattle gate are not blocked. Lastly, a farm isn’t a farm without good farm dogs and a cat that thinks she’s one;). We have 3 friendly pups that might greet you if out for their playtime, they love to make new friends if pets are your thing!

The property was immaculate and comfortable. It exceeded our expectations. The owners were very welcoming and kind if you are looking for something in the Rolla/St. James area, I would definitely recommend staying here.
Absolutely perfect getaway at this adorable cottage! We stayed the weekend to visit our son in Rolla and we will definitely stay here again. Very clean, comfortable and loved how it was decorated (I wanted to come home and redecorate!) The hosts were very accommodating and thought of everything inside and out. There is a fire pit under garden lights which they provided wood and all the necessities. The St. James Winery and Public House Brewery are about 5 minutes away and the food is excellent. The cottage was only about 10 minutes from Rolla so it was super convenient. We can't wait to come back!
The Cottage on Luca Hill is delightful. Clean and current furnishings and decor made this a standout stay. The hosts are lovely people - friendly and accommodating in every way. We also loved meeting the sweet animals - not every day you get to pet a cow who really seemed to enjoy it! Would recommend this property without hesitation. We will return and visit the neighboring Spencer Manor Winery at some point in the future!
Such a lovely stay, we didn’t want to leave! The location is so nice, I found entertainment watching the cars come down the hill on one side and cows walking up the hill on the other ;) The house itself is divine. Perfectly decorated, perfectly clean, AND luxurious beds and bedding! We took advantage of everything, from cooking meals to doing our laundry while there. It was THE perfect stay. We will be back! For anyone with limitations, please note that this house has a multi-level floor plan, with a step down into the two bedrooms and bathroom.
We absolutely loved our stay at this cottage. We traveled to MO from Memphis for our son's college graduation and this VRBO had everything we could need. Very spacious - custom, upscale kitchen, beautifully decorated living room, 2 full sized bedrooms, an extra large bathroom and laundry room, a little office space and even a friendly little calf who greated us at the gate. I would stay here 100 times and it's probably one of the nicest VRBO's weve stayed in. Thanks for the hospitality!
We loved loved our stay there. We were traveling to Arkansas to visit a wedding venue, and this was our stopping point. We traveled from Indiana and Kentucky and the bride traveled from Colorado!! We didn't get to do much in the town, but our stay at the cozy cottage didn't disappoint. The beds were very comfy, and everything was extremely clean. Highly recommend if you're in the area!!
The cottage is such a cute and fun little spot, and was stunning on the inside, waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee and looking out the window to see the cows was very fun, it gave us both dream home vibes, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun relaxing getaway spot or even just a cute place to get away and spend a weekend!
Me and a few of my friends stayed here for a relaxing weekend and it did not disappoint! The host was so kind and the cottage was beautiful. I really enjoyed how clean it was and how the kitchen came fully stocked! It was in the perfect location too! I would stay again!
The house was beautiful and smelled amazing. The hosts were friendly and helpful while keeping to themselves at the same time. If we stay in the area again we will choose this house!
The property was in a beautiful country setting, the inside was very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean, and very comfortable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again for more than just one night. Katie the host was very hospitable and easy to communicate with
The Cottage is the perfect place if you’re looking for an alternative to a hotel. The place is super updated and cute decor. The kitchen has all the amenities you’d need and the space is perfect. The outdoor seating space around the fire pit was peaceful to sit and enjoy the scenery. The owner was responsive when needed.
I can’t say enough good things about this property or the hosts. The cottage itself is incredibly cozy and well-appointed. We were there for a week during a major heatwave and ended up spending more time in the cottage itself, since the original plan(s) of hiking got shut down due to heat advisories in the area. That said, we had a great time playing board games, watching Netflix and trying out new recipes (the kitchen had everything we needed). We never find the time to do these kinds of things together back home, so this was great. The cottage is located close to Maramec Spring Park, which is absolutely beautiful. We managed to make it over there on the one sub-90 degree day we had. The hosts were always available and even cut some firewood for us so that we could enjoy the fire pit out back. This will definitely be our go-to place whenever we are in St. James or Rolla in the future.
