St. David's Amazing View

We have been to Bermuda many many times and this was one of the best places we have stayed. Mike was a wonderful host and made sure we had a great stay. It was nice to stay at this end of the island away from the cruise ships and crowds. St Georges has lots of unique places to eat, drink and explore. Thank you Mike we will be back.

Amazing View

We enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect getaway with an amazing view, comfortable apartment, beautiful pool and very thoughtful hospitality from Mike and Karma. Beautiful view and lovely place

Everything was very modern, clean and neat. The view is beautiful and outdoor pool was refreshing. The location is further from Saint George’s activities than we have stayed before so plan to have a Car or at least a scooter, or call for taxis (only cash) or a hike to the nearest bus stop if you plan on going into St George’s or traveling throughout the island. No problem if you intend to just stay on site for a lovely, relaxing vacation.

I booked this property because of the view, and it was well worth it. Away from touristy areas, very peaceful and relaxing. Pick up from airport very convenient. Rental comfortable and clean. But that view!!!

The Perfect Escape!

We had the BEST time in Bermuda in May staying in St. Davids at Mikes place! He was friendly and knowledgeable and the house was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for! Highly suggest staying in the St. Davids area as that is the quiet side of the island and perfect for a quiet getaway. Definitely cant beat the views either!

Lovely stay with a great host

My husband and I had a really nice stay at Near Escape. Mike, the host, is very friendly, accomodating and informative. We had to move up our booking due to an airline conflict, and Mike was very gracious in assisting us with that. The view is absolutely amazing beyond words, so I'm adding a few photos. Our taxi driver, Jody, was a perfect example of the Bermuda he loves so much; kind, friendly, knowledgeable, accomodating and a great tour guide, should you choose to book an island tour with him. Mike's dog, Karma, is a sweet one who watches over her property with pride.

Quiet and Picturesque Island Apartment Rental

Very impressed with this property! First having a set of stovetop burners, a convection/microwave oven, a dishwasher, and the necessary plates/pots & pans/cookware makes it an easy choice to be able to cook breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can order your groceries online and be all set within a few hours. That's extra important when the wife is Vegan, and makes for a perfect quiet evening by the pool. The view is just unmatched, and the serene setting ultra quiet. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom roomy & spacious, and the outdoor private patio magnificent. The AC has great controls, and the temperature very controllable. There is a restaurant and eatery within walking distance, and two different bus stops that give you the freedom to move all over the island via St. George or Hamilton. Finally the magnificent Cooper Island Reserve just past Clearwater Beach is only a short bus ride (or long walk) away, which has the best set of beaches and coves for swimming. Highly recommend for the discerning traveling couple who enjoy being secluded. 10 out of 10!

excellent location, picturesque views

This house is in the perfect location away from the busiest part of the island (Hamilton). It is walking distance to some very quite beaches (clearwater and turtle)...just be aware the island does not have a ton of sidewalks. The saltwater pool (a definite selling point) was amazing and clean and with all the rain that came through just before we got there it was almost an infinity pool. Prices on the island are very expensive so pack some snacks/ food to save a little bit. The van waiting for us at the airport (and Mrs. Lee) was a great start to a relaxing vacation as well.

Amazing House, Great Host, Beautiful Vacation

I stayed at Mike's home for 5 days, and I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this vacation. This was my first time traveling to Bermuda, and one of the first times I tried to plan everything out, as I usually backpack and play it by ear. With the cost of hotels on the island as expensive as they are, I opted for this rental home, and for half the price of the hotels on the island, it was more than worth the money. This is probably one of the most modern homes on the island, and looked exactly like the pictures when we arrived in person. Mike provided transportation from the airport to the home as promised, and even with all the research done before hand, Mike helped us out even more throughout our trip with any questions we had. The home, with a comfortable bed and modern renovation, the amazing view on the corner of the island, and Mike's hospitality proved to make this vacation one of my best.

beautiful unit and view of bay

modern unit that is attached to owner house where and his dog lives. The unit was very clean adn decorated well and iin a modern style. the view was fabulous and the pool, was nice and shared with him as its on his home property. the Unit is in the northern part of Bermuda which was nice if you like some isolation but also harder to reach other areas of the country as the buses are inconvient and toursit cant rent a car. We used a gypse cab driver , Gladwin, cell 441-705-5018, often and probably costs as much as a car rental , so that was good. The food stores are not close to walk but there was two restaurants in walking distance. the owner was very gracious and helpful with travel advice . would recommend highly.

The property and its views are just perfect.

We came to Bermuda for the first time and were so pleased with our stay. We are well traveled and have stayed in a variety of accommodations. It was a wonderful spot for our needs. Mike's unit is new, clean and private for his visitors. You have your own entrances, access to the pool and we never felt as if we were in his home, but rather that we had our own apartment. We went away leaving our kids for the first time and wanted a private, quiet..just "us" vacation. No fighting over pool chairs, etc. Perfect spot for us! The pool area and its views immediately make you forget your work and stresses at home. Breakfast outside, nightcaps, dip mid day…all at your doorstep! This positive cannot be emphasized enough. This is why you choose this spot. The house inside is newly renovated/built and you can enjoy this as well. He has the basics for you, beach towels, bath towels. Nice additions in the kitchen too that you would forget at the market (i.e. coffee filters, coffee, tea, olive oil, pam spray). You bring the rest to your liking. Mike is available if you need for any help or questions, etc. He has maps and a binder for you to get some ideas from. Bermuda itself is limited in maps available, so I would print some basics from home/google maps of close ups of each Parish. As to location…know where you are staying. It is less traveled and more secluded, but no less beautiful than other parts of Bermuda…I think you need a scooter to not feel remote. Scooter into St. George's easy & close. They will deliver it & pick it up for you at his place and I would highly recommend this. I wish I had done this in advance as we had 3 short days & why waste the time. Scooter down to Hamilton or the south beaches a good 45min away but hear this…you are on the East end. Cooper's island is spectacular. Beaches, views..unbelievable. St. Catherine's beach and Tobacco bay just as amazing. Easily you have 2 days worth of activities on the east end to enjoy. Then spend your other days on your mini road trips. Bus, ferries, taxis all other options. Just more $$ (taxi) or much more time consuming than we could afford. It is romantic and fun to explore where you want to go on your own. For this the location/scooter works for us! Don't forget to open the windows and enjoy the breezes that come through the bedroom. While you just gaze at the beautiful views all around you! Thanks for a wonderful stay! and I hope others enjoy the same!

Amazing location and host

This was the perfect place for our Bermuda get away. Location and view was spectacular. Mike is a wonderful host! He even set up a taxi to pick us up from the airport, who I must say was also of great help. Everyone was so accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely stunning!!!

We have been coming to Bermuda for over 40 years. We always stayed at the Palmetto in Flatts until the property changed and were made into condos. We then cruised mostly. We finally found our new home here at Mikes beautiful apartment at Near Escape. We were picked up by Mikes driver as a courtesy which made it so easy after spending time at the airport for covid testing and having to wait in your residence until you get results was a pleasure. Mike gave us links to order our groceries and they arrived promptly. The whole apartment is comfortable and beautifully designed. Everything is thought of. It was so easy to make meals in the kitchen that even had a dishwasher! We had total privacy and the pool all to ourselves overlooking the most magnificent views. Seniors looking for a beautiful stay that is typical of Bermudian hospitality this is the place! Hidden Gem

There is only one word to describe this property......AMAZING! This is my "go-to" property whenever I travel to Bermuda. The views from the property are superb and one of the best beaches in Bermuda is just a short walk away. Accommodation-wise, it's super clean, really cute, comfortable, and spacious which is super nice. Also, if you decide to rent a Twizy, there is a plug for charging right outside the home. Lastly, Mike (the host) is simply amazing! We can't wait to come back next year! Britt + Fuad
