About this property
The Blue Heron- Waterfront-Gulf Access-Dock-Pool-Kayaks
Welcome to The Blue Heron Your Gulf Coast getaway, where adventure meets the art of doing nothing at all.
Welcome to The Blue Heron, a waterfront retreat where salty breezes, sun-soaked adventures, and laid-back Florida living come together. Whether you're craving days on the water or peaceful moments with a view, this is your place to slow down, reconnect, and make memories that linger long after the tan fades.
Make a splash! Bring your own boat and tie up at our 36-foot dock, featuring both permanent and floating sections. Prefer to explore at a gentler pace? Grab one—or all four—of our house kayaks and meander through the hidden canals. For a true Gulf Coast adventure, book a local charter to scallop, fish, or cruise the water as dolphins dance through a spectacular sunset.
When it's time to come ashore, the fun continues. Fire up the gas grill, gather around the spacious outdoor dining table, and challenge your crew to a friendly game of Corn Hole or Giant Jenga on the shaded patio. Looking for a quieter kind of happy hour? Curl up on the wraparound porch, relax in the screened verandah, or head upstairs to the balcony and let the coastal views work their magic.
Inside, sunshine and comfort take centre stage. Our bright, open home features three inviting bedrooms and two modern bathrooms, with a king bed, queen bed, two double beds, and a sofa bed. There's comfortable sleeping space for eight guests, with room for up to ten when the sofa bed is in use. Whether you're gathering with family or sharing a getaway with friends, there's room to spread out, settle in, and feel right at home.
At The Blue Heron, the days are yours to fill however you please. Chase adventure, savour the sunshine, linger over dinner, or simply listen to the gentle rhythm of the water. This is Florida's Gulf Coast at its most inviting.

What a wonderful home. Spacious and beautiful. Our favorite part was the kayaks. Went out almost everyday and enjoyed 2 evenings of glorious sunsets. Host was very responsive to messages. Hope to return in the future.
Overall the house was nice and accommodating.Lane always answered my questions in a timely manner. However, there was only one television, which I did not realize. There was no outdoor seating on the upper deck. And to access the back yard, pool, and canal we had to go out the front door, down the 30ish stairs and through the carport. We had a great time in Hernando Beach and loved eating at the Lazy Lizzard.
Great property. It was quiet and relaxing. It had some extras that wasn’t expected, such as spices, toiletries, laundry detergent, even plastic wrap and aluminium foil. This made it even more welcoming. The pool was wonderful and the kayaks available made it extra special, we even saw a dolphin on a morning row! Everything was clean, and the view was so enjoyable, and we did make use of the grill, corn hole, and outdoor jenga. The space was perfect for our family, and there were tons of shops and restaurants close by. Some restaurants just a minute away, while grocery, more restaurants, and shops about 10-15 minutes away, but it was a lovely drive! Our single negative was the only access to the pool was going down the steps at the front door, however, this did not ruin our stay at all. We would stay here again!
We visit Florida every year for baseball spring training. This year was no exception! This property was cleaner than any we have ever rented. Congrats on the best property ! Everything you need is there all you need is to take the time and visit.!
This house is probably the 4th place we have stayed at in the area. Finding a house with ample parking is always an issue and there is plenty here. A lot of homes say that they sleep 10 people but only have room for 2 cars, not including boat trailers. The pool was fantastic after coming in off the water. We had a little trouble at check-in but smooth sailing otherwise. Would definitely recommend!
Our family of 4 spent a week at the Blue Heron in February 2025. We are thrilled with the home and its location which is on the quieter side. The neighborhood was very pleasant, especially considering a number of residents were still dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane. From the Blue Heron, we would have never even known a storm occurred. The home is spacious, clean and well equipped with the necessary items. Further, the communications with the owner/manager was Outstanding. We intend on returning as soon as we can. Booking the home through Lane and Lynne was painless and simple. 5 stars from us.

We enjoyed the relaxing, peace and quiet that allowed my husband and I to unwind from our hectic work schedules. We enjoyed swimming in their pool and adventuring with kyaks to the Gulf. The owners were so helpful and available to answer any questions we had. It was a marvelous experience and can't wait to return!
Our family of five (myself, husband, kids 10 and 13 and mother-in-law) traveled for the week to Hernando Beach, staying at the Blue Heron. The house was clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well organized and the bedrooms were perfect. The beds and linens were super cozy! The bathroom towel, pool towels, and other household items were a great asset. Our family found the downstairs pool area was cool with the shade and breeze working together. The kids loved the pool and we spent a lot of time in this space. We used the Kayaks one day and saw a sting in the canal. The welcome book had helpful information about places to visit, where to rent a pontoon and restaurants. When we had a question Lynne was quick to respond and helpful. We highly recommend visiting the flats with a pontoon and eating at the Silver Dolphin. The local pizza place Matoli’s was perfect for the night we arrived. The area has a lot to offer and explore with other locations within easy driving distance!
