Wonderful weekend in Bermuda

Lorna was a great host, very responsive with communications and provided transportation tips to/from airport. We basically had a private beach during our stay, easy walk to eat and other beaches, room nice and comfortable for our stay.

Excellent Location and Wonderful Hosts

Lorna and Greg were excellent hosts! The property was clean and comfortable, allowing us to relax and take full advantage of the location. The view cannot be beat, and the access to the private beach was amazing. The south shore of Bermuda has so much to offer and this property was ideally situated to make the most of the island.

Lorna, the property, the beaches, and the island are amazing! If you want to go to a nearby restaurant or grocery store, call Lorna’s transportation, contact Belinda Wilson and her husband Ed. Schedule them in advance and they’re great. “Hitch” is their Uber and it is horrible!

Perfect location!

Great location and very comfortable studio. Host Lorna is super kind and helpful. Location is perfect on a nice beach. You can see the ocean from inside the studio! Studio is well equipped and comfortable. I will definitely return!

Gemstones Southampton

Our stay at Gemstones was pretty much perfect. The setting, looking out at the ocean, the awesome beach so close by, the cozy accommodations with everything we needed and the super friendly hosts made everything wonderful. We will be back!

Bermuda Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Lorna's place. We enjoyed the private location of the property and the accommodations were great. It was a great location to walk to many different places and the bus stop was very close by. Hope to visit Bermuda again in the future!

Special place!

The moment you drive down the driveway and see the amazing ocean views from the house you know you’re staying somewhere special! We stayed in Studio By the Sea which was a lovely apartment with very comfortable bed and kitchen that has everything you need to prepare a meal. Our host Lorna makes you feel very welcome and was extremely responsive to our communications. She generously allowed us to park our two seater EV next to the apartment and charge for free. We would happily stay there again if we return to Bermuda someday.

Beautiful, relaxing paradise!

My husband and I came for a mini getaway. It was perfect for us, as we were looking for a quiet beach vacation. The view from the property was amazing! Just steps away from a gorgeous beach. Often my husband and I were the only ones on the beach. Great location in walking distance to a few restaurants, lighthouse and horseshoe bay beach. Lorna is responsive and helpful host.

First time using VRBO, was very pleasantly surprised. Was a very nice place.

The property was stunning, The accommendations were so nice the pictures didn't do it justice. Lorna and her son Tristian were so nice and helpful. Lovely, my husband and I will definitely be back!

Awesome time

Our favorite place! Second time here. Lorna is absolutely amazing. Love her, love our “deckhouse”, the views are incredible, the short walk to the beach cove and beach is gorgeous . Location is very convenient for the island. Bermuda and it’s people are awesome.

Lovely Stay with Private Beach :)

We absolutely loved our stay at The Deck House! The studio layout was perfect for us, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. They even provided us with complimentary snorkel gear – perfect for exploring the beautiful private beach right out front! :) There's one minor thing to consider: the driveway is a bit steep. However, the bus stop conveniently located at the top makes getting around a breeze. Taxis can also easily pick you up there. Overall, The Deck House was a fantastic place to stay!

5 Days In Paradise

My wife and I could not be more pleased with the accommodations and location of Lorna and Greg’s gorgeous home! It is nestled on a bluff between two 5 star resorts and just a short stroll to one of Bermuda ‘s incredibly beautiful beaches. The oceanfront view from the studio is spectacular with a constant breeze of of the ocean. We walked to outstanding restaurants, the rail trail, horseshoe cove and warwick beaches. Lorna was the perfect host! We’ll be back!

Beautiful location

We had a wonderful stay at Deck House in April. It is located in our very favorite spot of Bermuda. The views of the private beach and ocean were spectacular. The owner Lorna, was very warm and hospitable, and having her on site added very much to the enjoyment of our visit. The apartment is walking distance from Horseshoe Bay, as well as several restaurants. We ate at Henry VIII (twice) and The Dining Room located at Gibb's Hill Lighthouse. The studio was small, however it was fine for 2 people. We really did not spend much time inside anyway. There are other apartments on property that are suited for larger groups. We highly recommend Lorna, and her guest house, and look forward to visiting again.

South Road Paradise

Lorna and her family are beautiful people. The Gemstones Property is high on a hill overlooking the most beautiful beach (Cross Bay) During our stay we basically had the beach to ourselves. The walk to beach from Gemstones is fairly steep but there are two other routes. It’s not an issue to sway a decision to stay here. We stayed 10 days and our taxi driver Belinda who is a beautiful person stopped in route to gemstone from airport at supermarket so we could buy food, beer and wine etc. We prepared dinner three nights on excellent Weber gas grill and enjoyed our meal on the deck overlooking the water. Just spectacular. The location is an easy walk to King Henry the 8ths restaurant and store (their chicken legs, fish cakes and fish chowder are a must). Also the Reefs is just a 15 min walk. We bought 7 day bus pass and traveled the island with ease. I could go on and on but I’ll close by saying that my wife and I have found our Bermuda Home!!

Paradise in Bermuda

My wife and I had a fantastic time staying at the Deck House. Lorna was a great host. The studio apartment was ideal, the queen bed was comfy, kitchen area was equipped for our needs and the studio was extremely clean. The laundry area was next door to the studio. You will never find a more beautiful beach just a short walk down the incline path and stairs. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the chairs and umbrella was provided by the host. Lorna was also welcoming by providing information about the Island. Lorna also prepared us a “Swizzle” drink that we shared together one evening while we sat on the front deck and enjoyed the music coming from The Princess Resort Beach. Restaurants were close by that we walked to for dinner. If you are looking for a place with beautiful quite setting and awesome beach you will not be disappointed here. Highly recommend!! The epitome of Paradise!!

My best friend and I had been planning a vacation for awhile, and because of the recent hurricane activity in the Caribbean, we decided to go to Bermuda. Best. Decision. EVER as we had the most amazing time! "Madame" Lorna and Greg were the most gracious of hosts and were only shadowed by the spectacular views from the property...simply amazing! The accommodations suited our needs exactly, and the private beach and views made this the trip of a lifetime. Getting to and from the airport was easily arranged by Mrs. Sylvia, and we were within 5 walking minutes to a restaurant and little market with convenient items like snacks and beer. The bus was also right outside of the property providing access to downtown Hamilton allowing for sightseeing and people watching on the way. And EVERYONE is friendly in Bermuda...it's like they know no strangers! If you are looking for a safe, beautiful, and charming destination, stop what you are doing and get to booking at Gemstones!

Perfect beach holiday

Had a great time! Location - perfect location - walking distance from lighthouse and Henry's both of which are great place to eat and pick up convenience items including yummy chicken legs - walking distance to bus stop - beach is literally one minute away and it's private - close to other hotels and beaches Accommodation - best view ever - can see the ocean right from your bed - clean - looks exactly like the pictures - good air conditioning - found bed was a little too soft for us but passed on feedback to Lorna who said she would keep an eye out If others felt the same way - be sure to bring your own bath soap. We forgot! - towels provided linens provided - semi private - you have your own private entrance and private lounge area outside but you still see other guests come and go and Lorna and family live next door but that didn't bother us at all in fact we liked chatting with her and she was very respectful of our privacy House itself - part of a huge home that has three other units one upstairs and two downstairs but the sun deck is separate to the left with a deck on top so you're never disturbed at night or in the morning. Very peaceful. Food - great places around to eat including Henry and light house - grocery store nearby but not walking distance. Stop by on way from airport in taxi. Be prepared for shockingly high prices Hosts - amazing hosts - friendly helpful and accommodating Activities - beaching! Lorna has good beach chairs snorkeling equipment and toys for kids - all the beaches nearby are amazing - ebikes - that's what we did - bike the railway trail - take the bus to dockyards - we would have rented a scooter next time as the bus was sometimes full and then we had to wait another 30min for the next bus which was annoying - Take ferry from to Hamilton - very scenic and nice - st George historic site nice place to walk around and window shop and go to cafes Booking process - Lorna was very responsive - wire payment was a little inconvenient but nothing that deterred us. Just make sure to read her instructions very carefully and ask questions if you have any - this place is a gem and a great deal compared to other places so book fast if you see any openings Hope we covered everything. You will have a great time. Thanks Lorna and Greg. We hope to be back soon.

This is a lovely property that has all basic features and amenities for a casual comfortable stay. The location is out of this world-overlooking the ocean with just steps down to a secluded beach that feels almost like a private beach. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. We look forward to booking with them again. It was an absolutely incredible summer vacation.
