We loved the island and proximity to the beach. Wonderful visit overall. House is well laid out. Well equipped kitchen although the dishwasher could use replacing as the racks are quite rusty. 3 bedrooms do not have AC and between warmer summers and having to keep all windows closed due to "no see-ums" (in July), paddle and portable fans were not sufficient. We were unable to sit outside day or night due to bugs. The master bedroom adjoining bath has no shower (which isn't in the listing) and is shared with the twin bedded room which isn't clear in the listing. It also says "a queen [bedroom} and one with two twin beds with another bath". That bath is in the upstairs queen room and not shared with the queen and twin rooms. The bathrooms need more towel racks or hooks to hang towels.To avoid losing our time slot, we had to sign a lease while we were out of the country, but requested doing an on site visit on our return to make sure the house met our parameters. The lease even states that viewing the property is highly recommended. However, after numerous attempts, we were told we couldn't see the house because "we typically don't show vacation rentals or the homes don't show well because they're not rental ready". From what we could tell, the homeowner uses slipcovers on the living room furniture and covers the dining room table with a pad and table cloth which is totally understandable and could easily have been addressed during a visit. Our experience with the agent wasn't great.
