PACITHEA VILLAS {HARMONY}

Villa Harmony is sized at 52sq.m. and is suitable for 4-5 people. It is located at a lower level compared to the villa Horizon, in order to maintain both their privacy. The layout is organized with “open space” logic, where a single space accommodates all functions. Thus, the entrance leads to a small seating area that divides the house into two parts. On the right side you will see the open space with the dining room, the bedroom and the living room, with a fireplace in the background, along with stone and brick walls, that give a warm atmosphere to the residence. On the left side of the entrance you will find the open kitchen and the bathroom.

The use of these materials gives the space a domestic character, making it feel very familiar to every visitor. The villa is suitable for couples or even small groups of friends.

Milies
Μηλιές

The famous Milies is one of the most picturesque villages of the mountain of the Centaurs, the starting point for the train of Pelion, which reaches through a fantastic journey to Ano Lechonia. The famous School of Milies, which was the center of the 1821 liberation struggle and spiritual home of the time, gave this old village a long and remarkable history.

From the central square – a meeting place for locals and visitors – start the cobblestone paths that lead to the small neighborhoods of the settlement. The big trees of the square create a pleasant environment with the shadow that give to those who choose to enjoy there coffee and their food, while major historical buildings are located all around, like the pretty shops that give visitors the opportunity to learn a lot about history, tradition and everyday life of the area.

Characteristic to the village is the authentic Pelion architecture with towers and mansions, many of which have a long history, such as the Library, the Folklore Museum, Evdoxeio Cultural Center and the Church of the Archangels.

Vizitsa
One of the most famous traditional villages of Pelion, Vizitsa is a conservation village which has all the elements that compose the genuine Pelion landscape. The restored mansions, traditional Pelion houses, stone fountains and lush vegetation make a setting for your visit throughout the year. The central stone path leads to the large square with the tall trees, where the breathtaking covered fountain is located. Beautiful trails starting from the village lead to neighboring villages and beaches. One of them leads to the Milies train station, crossing a beautiful natural landscape.

Pinakates
Pinakates is another beautiful and picturesque village of Pelion. The village is also preserved by the Presidential Decree of 1979, with stone houses and a large square, the Basilica of St. Demetrios and the marble neoclassical lion-head fountain, donated by Greek-Egyptians expatriates. A true retreat for those who want to relax, away from crowded places and enjoy the serenity of Pelion landscape all year round.

Agios Georgios
Agios Georgios Nilias is built at an altitude of 650m., In a green part of the mountain, with its houses spread out amphitheatrically around the slope, allowing an unobstructed view of Pagasitikos. Nature here makes its presence felt in the dense vegetation of plane trees, chestnut trees, cherry trees and two streams that surround the village. During a visit to this beautiful village one can admire the wonderful streets, its picturesque square and the imposing mansions, taps and religious and cultural monuments, like the church of Agios Georgios.

Afetes
The Afetes or Niaou as it was once called is a quiet village built among olive groves with a wonderful view to Afissos and Pagasitikos. The large paved square with huge plane trees is ideal for food in both taverns available in the village. At the other end of the square is a remarkable church of Ai-Yiannis built by the famous master Epirus, Municipality Zapanioti. At the entrance of the village begins the path that passes over the old arched bridge and leads through a beautiful route, the famous sandy beach of Ampovos in Afisso.

Beaches of Pelion
The position of Pacithea Villas is one of the most ideal for excursions to the beaches of Pelion, both from the side of Pagasitikos and on the side of the Aegean. The beaches are famous for their crystal clear waters and many have been awarded with the Blue Flag by the Greek Nature Preservation Company.

Readily accessible and close to the beaches of Pagasitikos gulf combine intense tourist development with clear water. Here, swimming in the sea is accompanied by a cool breeze and fresh seafood, in an incredible landscape, where olive groves that descend the slopes that touch the water.

First is the Beach Koropi, the seaport of Milies, fully organized, with areas for recreation and meditation. Next you will find the famous Afissos, with beaches like Ampovos and Kallifteri where the combination of the deep blue waters of fine sand make the perfect setting to enjoy a swim watching the sunset. A bath at Kala Nera is necessarily followed by a visit to the fish tavernas of the village, next to the picturesque harbor, same with the next beach, Kato Gatzea whose location is ideal for walks on the beach. Finally, Lefokastro is one of the most picturesque coastal villages, with a wonderful beach and characteristic golden sand.

These are some of the most famous nearby coastal areas. Many other smaller beaches are hidden in the coves of Pagasitikos, waiting to be discovered.

On the eastern side of Pelion, the turquoise waters of the Aegean meet with the foot of mountain, full of wildlife and lush vegetation. The result is the creation of a unique coastal area, where sand, rocks, water and plants alternate so intensely that make the region unique in variety and beauty. Here the sun sets early, but the nights are truly magical.

One of the most famous beaches in the area is Milopotamos, with its famous rocks and small caves. Next to it, in a small bay surrounded by cliffs, is Fakistra, a beach with wild and primitive beauty. Shortly following Damouhari, a picturesque fishing village and famous destination, combining baths with fresh seafood next to the fishing boats. The cosmopolitan Agios Ioannis is ideal for swimming and diving in unique waters of the beach Papa Nero, with its huge sandy beach and Plaka, with small pebbles beside the towering rocks. Finally, the beach of Saranda has an extensive beach that characterizes the fine sand and also thin, white pebbles, in combination with the crystal waters of the Aegean.

Milies sights

Pelion is a mountain full of attractions that everyone should visit. Important archaeological, religious, historical monuments, picturesque villages and traditional hamlets, natural monuments and more, make up the history of this place. Railway Station
The site of the old station is one of the most impressive areas, with well-preserved buildings in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty. Here you can ride the legendary train of Pelion, the “Moutzouris” starting from the station in Ano Lechonia.

Church of Taxiarches
Located at the top of the central square and renovated in 1741. The building is an aisled basilica with many elements of traditional Pelion architecture combined with a Greek Orthodox interior. This was the starting place of the Greek revolt against the Turks in 1821.

«Psihis Akos» Library
Tranlated to “Soul Therapy”, a true adornment for both the village and the country. This building was historically the Milies first school, founded in 1812 by the three teachers of the Nation, Anthimos Gazis, Gregorios Konstantas and Daniel Filippides.

Laography Museum
The Regional Museum was founded in 1982 by Eleni – Fay Stamati. Includes a copy of the flag of the 1821 Revolution, embroidery, textiles, pictures, objects of traditional local trades and rich photographic material.

De Chirico Bridge
This impressive metal bridge above the Taxiarhis watercourse, is located just next to the station and follows the curve of the railroad track. It is known by this name in honor of the Italian manufacturer, Evaristo de Chirico.

Monastery of St. Nikolaos
The Monastery of St. Nicholas the Martyr is located 5 km. Southeast of the village and hosts remarkable frescoes. Build with the donation and care of Anna Farantatou. It offers spectacular views of the entire village and the Pagasitikos.
