Happy Ours Cottage, 4 minute walk to sandy beach!

Extensive renovations and restorations over the last 20 years at 222 Brockway Avenue capture the feel of relaxation and fun for your stay in South Haven! Our long driveway will accommodate four vehicles. Street parking is also available for two vehicles March 16-November 14.

We rent the cottage Saturday to Saturday during the last two weeks of June, the month of July, and the first two weeks of August. Outside of those dates, it is usually a three night minimum, although we do rent for two nights in the off season. Our rental fee includes the cleaning fee, Taxes are extra. We do not allow smoking or pets.

Our 4 bedroom, 2 full bath, air conditioning, and washer/dryer cottage is located 600 ft. from Lake Michigan drive (North Shore Drive) and a 15-minute walk to the 50+ Historic Downtown South Haven shops. The cottage is just under a mile from the drawbridge in downtown South Haven. There are six public beaches on the North Side of South Haven. Our closest public beach is located at Oak Street and North Shore Drive. This is a five-minute walk from our house. You can see this when mapping our address.

We have a quiet neighborhood, which should make your stay a pleasant one. Please look at the photos of our renovated cottage! Walk north for an hour on the beach or browse the town with its unique shops and restaurants.

The cottage is located on the exclusive north side of town, less than a mile from Downtown South Haven.

First floor bedrooms:
white bedroom = twin trundle and queen bed, TV/DVD/ROKU
yellow bedroom = queen bed
pink bedroom = bunk bed with twin on top and full-on bottom
New Master Bath in 2015! Barrier-free shower and ADA toilet.

Lower level bedroom:
green bedroom = full futon and queen bed, TV/DVD/ROKU
Bathroom renovation in 2017! Bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet.

The cottage has a 70' flat screen television in the living room, cable and wireless wifi, air conditioning, two electronic fireplaces, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and double oven. The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances, pots and pans, dishes, and everything you need to make a wonderful meal. The only thing you need to add is your own food.

We provide garbage bags, kitchen towels, paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, bathroom towels, sheets, and other bedding. Queen and full beds have four pillows. Twin beds have two pillows.

We also have lots of beach toys and child life jackets for your use.

The kitchen seats 12 people. We also have a patio area in the backyard, a gas grill, and a portable fire pit.

Perfect location for easy beach access. Loved the extra included amenities, like beach chairs and wagon. It was great for our large group with plenty of sleeping options. The communication was very straightforward with a description of all of the quirks of the house, so it was nice to know what to expect.

Great spot

Great spot I a quieter neighborhood north of town. Short walk to Oak Street Beach but only 15 minutes from downtown. Accommodated the five of us fantastically, could’ve easily had a lot more folks.Kitchen was great as was washer/dryer. Would love to come back!

This was a very good place for our family, 3 couples plus a toddler. Very convenient to have a changing table , high chair, portable crib, crib sheets right there. The sun porch was his favorite play area. The beach was very close, a couple minutes by car or a short walk. It's a great location, we walked into town and a long the beach to the lighthouse. The kitchen has everything we needed, and there was a lot of room to sit around and to have the high chair at the table. Katherine, the host , kept in touch to make sure everything was ok. Tip from a long time South Haven visitor: go to the newly reopened Sherman's Ice Cream.

The house was perfect for our family get away. It's stocked with nearly everything you need and more...especially the kitchen. There were baby items available to use which was so helpful. The beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.

Perfect stay for Mother-in-law’s 60th

My family and I stayed at the cottage along with a few other family members to celebrate my mother in law’s 60th birthday. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. The cottage is not far from all of the things that South Haven has to offer!! Thank you for a great weekend!

Wonderful cottage and location

Our family had a wonderful time visiting the South Haven area. It was our first time and felt lucky to have found Happy Ours Cottage to stay in. We had plenty of room for everyone in our family to spread out and have their own space, plus the short walk to the beach and downtown were perfect! Our host was very attentive and answered all of our questions quickly. We would love to come back and stay again!

Convenient, well equipped.

Great location and great host

We really enjoyed the house for our family trip to South Haven. The kitchen/living room space was great for us to hangout together at night and the location was very convenient to walk to the beach and downtown. We barely used our car. The house was as expected and had plenty of beach chairs and toys for us to use. Thanks for sharing your home!

Family was getting married in Allegan. We used this place to stay during the wedding and after. It has a great location near the beach as well as not a long drive to the wedding venue. Kathy was great to work with. She made sure that we had everything we needed including all of the beach toys.

Wonderful location

That cottage was nice but it was not a good match for our family. We had 9 adults and it was tight. I can see how the cottage would be ideal if our 5 "kids" were little ones. I would recommend the cottage but not for people with "big" kids.

Summer Family Vacation

Annual week in South Haven for family. We enjoyed our time at Happy Ours Cottage. It was close to the beach and downtown. We could walk everywhere. The neighborhood was quiet. Owner was very accommodating and quick to respond. Look forward to returning.

Great Mother's Day weekend

I came with my family to visit the tulips in Holland and explore a few of the smaller towns along Lake Michigan. Great location to do all that, in either direction! The cottage was clean and spacious. We had everything we needed, and then some. Katherine even offered us to come a night early, as the cleaning crew was finished. Will definitely be back if we want to stay in South Haven again. We had a great time.
