The hotel staff is excellent. Breakfast includes a cool machine that makes 2 pancakes at a time just by pushing a button. Fun to watch them go down the conveyor belt and drop on your plate perfectly cooked. Great sea view from our balcony. My slightly negative comments would be that there was no tissues in the room and no fan in the bathroom. I would definitely visit again.

A very clean and well located hotel. A little far from the historical center. But you can take the A bus strike to the center. Amazing view of the ocean and Vesuvius volcano.

El hotel es lindo, pero nos dieron la peor habitación. No tenía WiFi ni señal de celular. Tiene pileta y parking propio. Si van a este hotel pidan que no les den la habitación 100.

Puntos a favor: el hotel está bien ubicado. Tiene pileta y es lindo. El desayuno completo. Tiene parking propio y gratuito Puntos en contra: nos dieron la peor habitación. En un subsuelo. No llegaba la conexión WiFi ni la señal del celular. Era fea. Oscura. Pequeña. Pedimos cambio y nos dijeron que estaban todas las habitaciones ocupadas.

Sorrento escape

Lovely staff in a cosy location just about Sorrento. Views on the walk into town are amazing. Hotel may need a little updating but it is ideal for a relaxing getaway, with a nice pool and terrace area.

NEVER BOOK A ROOM HERE

A very arrogant man on reception told us on arrival that the manager had rung and told us he had put us in Hotel Spicy down the road. HE HADN'T. Hotel Spicy had no restaurant or swimming pool and was not acceptable. I booked the Metropole on 5th June and had paid in full. Again the manager denied this. I am in the proccess of claiming the money back on my credit card. The whole attitude was rude and offensive. It was 8.30 in the evening and we were left to try and find another hotel for four people that wasn't "Spicy". I had had no phone calls or emails from the Manager of the Metropole he lied. He ended up saying I had phoned him and requested Hotel Spicy. I'd never heard of it. The price for Spicy was strangely the same as the Metropole although it was not of the same standard. We went to the Capodomonte just down the road eventually - it was wonderful!! Give the Metropole a miss!!!

Good hotel

the hotel is located in a convenient area to the highway. But not in the town. We had a car so this was no problem. The bed was hard but the room was very clean. Overall the hotel was good for the low price.

2* hotel from the 70's.

We felt like we're back in the 70's - furniture and sheets were too old. Breakfast was terrible - very poor choice + all the food was kept in an area with no A/C. Very bad wifi connection - most of the time didn't work. Pool - to much noise from the traffic and to visible for everybody walking or driving near the hotel, no privacy at all. The only plus is that they have free parking. Too expensive for what's offering.

A great place to stay

The Metropole was a great choice for us, the staff were very helpful and recommended us to the best restaurant I have been to in Italy "Inn Bufalito" - try it. Initially we were concerned the hotel might be too far from town, but this was not the case, it was a pleasant 15 minute walk with great views along the way. The breakfast was also great with a wide selection to choose from (try the apple cake - cake for breakfast, what's not to love). It has a poolside deck area which is nice to hang out on both night and day. The rooms are clean and provided all the basics. A great hotel to stay at a reasonable price. Would definitely stay again when we next return to beautiful Sorrento.

Out dated but reasonable given location.

This may sound rather harsh as the decor and feel of the hotel was very old. Whilst the staff were very friendly and helpful and the location ok (per other reviews a challenging walk into down on the main route through the amalfi coast). This place needs an update! Refreshed bathrooms and new furniture a must.

Ottimo Hotel...!!!

L'hotel si trova in ottima posizione a piedi è possibile arrivare ai bagni della Regina Giovanna e la Baia Puolo. Ottimo il personale cortese e disponibile sempre,bella ed accogliente la piscina.e ricchissima la colazione L'unica pecca forse è il parcheggio troppo piccolo per un hotel così grande,ma per un posto come Sorrento l'auto è un bel problema.

Disappointing

Very unfriendly staff and were rude. I am a 50 kilo female and the young doorman watched me struggle with my luggage down the long steps of the hotel where I actually injured myself without offering a helping hand. The elevator did not fit more than two people at a time. Air conditioning worked occassionally and the approximate location is about 2.5 kilometres from the main Sorrento area too dangerous to walk as there are no footpaths down the winding streets! Overall a very disappointing experience. The only people that were good were the waitors. I would not recomend staying here, stay somewhere close for better value and accomodating staff.

Lovely hotel in perfect location

If you are looking for somewhere quiet and scenic that is just a short walk into the town of Sorrento then this place is perfect. Staff are helpful, the hotel itself is nice and clean and the pool area clean and quiet! My only complaint would be the size of the shower (impossible to have one without banging your elbows) and the fact that a double bed was two singles pushed together! But I would recommend this hotel :-)

Pěkný bazén, dobrá snídaně

Poměr cena/výkon nic moc, na tento typ ubytování mi přišla cena příliš vysoká, pozitivní byla ochota personálu. Snídaně byla dobrá a bazén s terasou příjemný. Poloha není úplně dobrá, i když k hotelu jezdí autobus od vlakové stanice.
