The best area to stay in Songhuajiang is the central district of Daoli, particularly around Zhongyang Street (Central Street).
Daoli is the historical and commercial heart of Songhuajiang. Zhongyang Street, a pedestrianised boulevard, is lined with magnificent Russian-influenced architecture, department stores, and a wide array of restaurants and cafes. It stretches from the Songhua River in the north down to Jingwei Street. Many of the city's most well-known hotels are located just off this main thoroughfare, offering easy access to transport links and attractions.
This area is particularly well-suited for couples and those on a romantic getaway. The beautiful architecture provides a picturesque backdrop for strolls, and there are many opportunities for fine dining and evening entertainment. The proximity to the Songhua River also allows for pleasant walks along the embankment, especially during sunset.
Families will also find Daoli a convenient base. The area is bustling during the day, with plenty of shops and eateries to explore. The nearby Zhaolin Park, famous for its ice lanterns in winter, offers a lovely green space for children to play in during warmer months.
