With its architectural individuality, an oasis-like garden and an absolutely dreamlike interior, the sunshine-yellow Villa Son Floriana impresses. The architect/owner of this aesthetically pleasing property has succeeded in perfectly realising his impressive ideas. The L-shaped building is ideal for travellers who prefer a certain degree of autonomy but still like to be on foot. The fact that the south-facing house is located in a residential area is not a problem, as the outdoor area with its paradisiacal garden and large pool is hidden from view. The huge garden full of tall palm trees and lush Mediterranean vegetation extends over two different levels. On the first level is the spacious pool with sun terrace and extensive lawn. On the second level, peacefully nestled under a bamboo canopy and in the shade of the surrounding trees, is a fish pond. An island of relaxation for older guests, but also a great place for the little ones to play. There are numerous seating areas in the grounds: Choose between the cosy seating under the rush or canopy, the sweet little spot in the shade of the palm trees or the dining area on the covered veranda. Even if you have several people in your group, everyone will find their own favourite place to relax and unwind.
The enjoyment of the outdoor area continues when you enter the interior, where a very bright house with an all-round relaxing atmosphere and exceptional interior design awaits you, with the generous size of the rooms adding to the feel-good factor. Modern furniture and artistic artefacts made of materials such as concrete have been combined with antique furniture to create an extraordinarily successful and decidedly unconventional and convincing mix. As the living spaces are arranged on three levels, there is no danger of getting in each other's way. On the ground floor of the elongated building you will find a cosy room with a fireplace, a comfortable white sofa and, as a contrast, a golden sofa in baroque style. A figure like a guardian angel hovers from the high ceiling. On the other side of this part of the building you will find the open-plan dining, living and cooking area with a modern LCD TV, a second fireplace and a central sofa corner, as well as a dining area with comfortable designer chairs on one side, behind which you will see a beautiful wooden bench and an elegant piano - an exciting addition to the more functional areas. You may have to look twice to find the kitchen, although it is open-plan, it is very cleverly concealed behind a waist-high white wall. Naturally with every convenience: dishwasher, huge fridge/freezer and ceramic hob remain true to the motto of form and function. The upper floor has staggered levels: While the first has two bedrooms (one of which has its own bathroom), the second level has an open gallery that serves as an office with a seating area (which, incidentally, can also be used for two additional sleeping places.) guests) and offers a marvellous view directly into the fireplace room. The gym is accessible from this level and offers the opportunity to maintain your fitness with exercise bikes, a dance bar, a weight bench and other equipment. Bedrooms three and four are located in the basement. The inviting, quiet rooms offer direct, step-free access to the garden and have a shared bathroom. Incidentally, each of the double beds consists of two single beds that can be separated as desired. The possibilities are almost endless!
The same applies to the time you spend away from the enchanting Villa Son Floriana. You can choose to stay in the small former harbour village of Cala Bona, stroll along the harbour promenade, which was restored in 2006, stop by one of the restaurants serving traditional cuisine or hire a leisure boat at the harbour. You can also take a trip into the interior of the island to visit Son Servera or the medieval town of Artà in the north-east. Thanks to the central location of the villa in Cala Bona (traffic noise is audible as a residential road passes by the house), access to the beautiful beaches on the east coast (the famous Calas de Mallorca) couldn't be easier. Villa Son Floriana is an individually architect-designed house in the Son Floriana neighbourhood. Thanks to its location, restaurants, bars and the harbour promenade are within easy walking distance. Shopping facilities are available in neighbouring Cala Bona or in Son Servera, where a weekly market is held on Fridays. The soft sandy beaches of Cala Millor or Cala Bona or further afield can be reached in a few minutes by car.
