Would definitely stay here again. Only odd item was no wine glasses in the room or honor bar. Great size room, air purifiers, extra nespresso pods. Location was very central and easy to navigate.

The only place I consider staying when I go to Solvang. Was worried the invisible staff design would be sterile or like some dumb techy gimmick, but it's really just creates a nice, relaxed atmosphere

These are luxury boutique suites. Each are different. Contactless hotel, but the staff is easy to reach. Everything you need is in the room except there is no microwave, which would be nice. Love the location, and will stay here again for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at the Winston. Great rooms! Small property & safe. Convenient, safe parking. Not too pleased with the early morning garbage truck dumping right outside our window. We had lots of noise from neighboring rooms & upstairs rooms during our stay. It sounded like an elephant walking around upstairs! I would stay in an upper room next time.

A nearby hotel canceled our reservation but failed to tell us until we got there. We were able to book the Winston and we’re very happy with our stay. It’s very unique since there is not any hotel management on site however it was very easy to contact someone when needed. Rooms were clean and large. You can’t beat the location if you want to stay downtown solving.

we do not have to wait just phone call and i like the convenient of it. i do not like my credit card taken when i already paid for our stay. there is a lot of scammer and not seeing or meeting the person who ask for our credit card number was scary. customer should have a choice to buy from lock cabinet. customer can call n given a code or have a lock that takes credit card. we should have had a choice on credit card thank you.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at The Winston for 3 days and was very surprised with how easy the check in was. An employee called us a few days before our stay to confirm the reservation and gave us instructions for check in and where to park. The parking area would've been hard to find if it wasn't for the call. This hotel is convenient as it is in the middle of downtown and was walking distance to museums, stores and wine places. The only downside of this place during our stay was the noise. We booked a queen suite on the 1st floor which was clean and looked nice with all the decor. Everything the you would normally see in a hotel was supplied. However, the people that was booked across the hallway from us was very loud especially during quiet hours which as 10PM to 8AM. Another issue was that the people booked above us either had kids or was playing tag throughout the whole day as we were hearing their loud foot steps. This ruined some of our nights when we were trying to get good sleep on this relaxing vacation. Overall, i would recommend this place for pure convenience of the spot. Otherwise, stay somewhere else if you want some real peace and quiet.

The interior architecture and design is stunning! Their hands off approach leaves you well rested. The hotel was very clean, peaceful and charming. The suites are impressive. Definitely want to return!

Rooms are excellent, location is excellent. Walls are thin so if your neighbors happen to be loud it’s annoying but that’s not the hotels fault, other than that it’s a perfect place to stay in Solvang.

There are pros and cons to this property. I will start with the pros: the rooms are beautiful and very clean. The person who decorated is very talented. Sheets are very comfortable Con: I paid for a balcony that I thought overlooked open space from their pictures. The balcony actually overlooks the parking lot. Now that I know that I would not pay up for that. Don’t pay extra for balcony unless you want to look any your car. About 5AM a terrible odor overtakes the room. It was so bad it woke me up. It is an invisible host so anything you need can take some time. I will say they were quick to respond to a text. You will need to take a picture of the problem to prove it before they do anything. Once proven they will take care of it. The lock is a bit tricky, but we figured it out. I think it’s very pricey for what you get. Lastly I pre paid the room. They drove me crazy with phone calls to get my card for incidentals. Once I was on a tour when they wanted the card. The next time I was driving. They just kept calling. They had their full pay yet kept calling. If they had someone on premises they wouldn’t have had to worry about the card so much.

self-service hotel in great location
This is a self-service hotel, but the text-for-service worked well. We had booked the 2 king room, but this room (and a few others) are located directly over a bar and grill, so the room stunk of grease and could be loud in the evenings. The staff was super accommodating and moved us with no problems. The rooms are decorated very nicely and the location is perfect.

Beautiful location to walk around Solvang. Park across the street was light up for Christmas and had music playing in the evening. Pub below was a great place to enjoy the lights and music. Combination door lock is a bit tricky to lock when leaving your room.

Everything was lovely. My one complaint is there is no information in the room on how things work. I still don't know how to correctly operate the Nespresso. We didn't know you had to touch the key pad on the door to lock it. We thought it was automatic and left the room with the door unlocked, then accidentally figured out how to lock it. Could have used information on how to operate the heat/air. Also, there is a lobby with a refrigerator and you can take some but how does it work? Do you get charged? How much? We were not told there would be a farmer's market on the street and we would not be able to get our car out of the parking lot for 6 hours. There is no front desk but they are a call away and helped us when our TV remote didn't work. They're onsite (?) person came quickly and was great. We were afraid of breaking things because we didn't have information. Still, highly recommend the Winston.

Highly recommend, great location, clean, quiet, well appointed, large comfortable room. Perfect location for Christmas time, the 2nd floor breezeway sitting area overlooks the park and the beautiful Christmas tree. Staff is friendly, helpful and responsive and the contactless check in is fantastic. Also, free parking right at the hotel. I travel often for work and don’t notice hotels, this one I noticed, large space, spotless clean, extremely comfortable.

My family and I travel to Solvang twice a year and always stay at The Winston. We have a small pup and a 6 year old. The hotel is perfect for our little clan. It is super convenient to all of the shops and dining options. We park our car at the hotel, check into our room using the code provided by the hotel via email, and we are off for the day! The room is super roomy & clean. The staff, although are not physically at the hotel are very attentive via text and phone. You really wouldn’t know they aren’t actually ON the property. All in all, we LOVE this hotel and the staff. You can’t beat the location! Looking forward to our next visit!

We traveled on Thanksgiving and did a few days get away. It was a great location in a cute town. Food options close by, space to get out of the room if needed. Bring a fire stick or something if you want additional channels. The Tv does not allow you to access the apps. where you could sign in if you have Disney channel, or Netflix. Easy access.check in.

Nice decor but poor choice of mattress comfort.
The bed is way too soft. Zero back support. Felt like I was sleeping in a hammock. The decor was nice the space is roomy. Just the bed was the issue. On a scale of 0-100 of firmness it would seriously be a 9.
