Boards & Bikes—Secluded Luxury Next to the Village (Treetop 29)
Treetop 29 is an ideal location for family and friends. Sleeps 8. Located at the top of the mountain next to Snowshoe Village. Newly updated (2022), two-story townhouse located in the Treetop Complex. Parking and Wi-Fi Outdoor grill!
This newly renovated townhome is next to the Village and sure to impress. Accurately named BOARDS AND BIKES, it provides the perfect spot to enjoy Snowshoe whether you’re visiting the ski slopes or the bike trails. It’s tucked away in the trees and it’s clean, spacious, and well-stocked. We’ve tried to think of everything so you won’t have to.
You will likely find yourself simply standing in the living room staring out the large window overlooking the deck and the snow-draped trees. With these views, it`s easy to dismiss the large, flat-screen smartTV and sound system mounted above the new Kozy Heat gas fireplace that will keep you toasty warm. In addition to the new fireplace, we’ve also installed heated flooring throughout. While enjoying your mountain getaway, you can choose to relax with a glass of wine on the large sectional sofa, in one of the cozy leather armchairs, or in the deep soaking tub.
The entryway ‘mud room’ has storage galore and hooks for all your gear, plus boot dryers (4 pairs) to ensure your gear and feet will be warm and dry every day you hit the slopes or trails. You will also find the full-sized washer & dryer here- stocked with everything you need to give your clothes a quick clean. There is an iron and ironing board in the master suite to keep you looking your best for evenings out at the local restaurants.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook some great meals. It is open to the dining room and provides the perfect place to gather with friends and family. If you`re the cook, you will have all the appliances and spices you need to whip up the perfect meal such as a waffle iron, blender, mixer, coffee pot/Keurig machine, indoor grill, and a large stainless steel Weber gas grill on the back deck.
Forget your cookbook? Just ask the Google Home in the kitchen/dining area to tell you your favorite recipe or to play your favorite music while you spend time in the cook’s kitchen with friends and family. You will find many staples already in the cabinet as well as complimentary teas and coffee. Forget something? Wildcat Provisions, the only mountain-top convenience store is located directly across the street within walking distance.
The large kitchen table seats eight and there is room for six more around the tables on the back deck if you enjoy eating outside- weather permitting of course. If a relaxing hot cocoa is all you’re dreaming about after a day on the slopes or trails, fill up your cup and head outside to the fire pit area, located centrally in the parking area. There is a basketball hoop there for those lucky enough to visit Snowshoe in the summer.
All three bedrooms are located up the newly renovated modern stairs, secluded from any noise below. In the master suite, you will find a cozy king bed, a daybed with trundle, and a full bathroom. A large picture window perfectly frames the king bed and overlooks the top deck and trees beyond. There is a flat-screen smart TV with cable and Chromecast streaming to wind down at night by watching your favorite movie. You will find another Google Home to ask for the weather when you wake up or play your baby’s lullabies. It’s the perfect bedroom suite for a family with two kids.
Down the hall, you will find another full bathroom and two additional bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed and flat-screen smart TV for Chromecast streaming only. The second bedroom has two twin beds and a spacious closet for all of your gear.
To entertain the kids (the big ones too) there are plenty of books, games, cards and items every parent needs while away - children`s plastic dishes and cups. This home is definitely family-friendly and waiting for you to return year after year to make unforgettable memories. You will love being close to the action yet secluded in the trees- the best of both worlds!

What a great location! Robert was easy to communicate with and was quick to answer any questions that we had. The place was equipped with everything we needed and more! Will stay here again!
We loved our weekend at Bikes and Boards. The property's attention to detail, coziness, and conveniences were very much appreciated. We had teenagers, young adults, and adults in the home, and it never felt crowded!
Very nice place, modern and clean. Comfortable beds, great bathrooms, a tight but nice kitchen and comfortable family room to hang out in. Dining room table fit everyone comfortably. Excellent mud room for all of your ski gear. A little on the pricey side, but a really nice place to stay, ideal for families with young kids. We will be back!Thank you!
We have stayed at another treetop property last year and this one was much more updated and such a lovely home. They had a lot of kitchen appliances, utensils everything we needed which helps a lot with traveling for such a short time. Short walk to slopes. Could not have been better. We will def try and rent again next year. Thank you!!
We had such a great time at treetop 29! The cabin is as the pictures show - very well designed, super clean, and spacious. The kitchen is very well appointed, and you will find everything you need at the cabin, which is important on the mountain. The check-in was easy m, and communication is simple and responsive. We spent many evenings by the fireplace after a home-cooked meal. And other time ate out in the village after a quick walk. The slopes are right there and our young kids had no problem with the few minutes walk. We hope to come back again soon!
My family really enjoyed this updated unit in the Treetop development. The heated floors, the gas fireplace, and the well-equipped kitchen were a real plus. I have never had a rental that actually had lids for all the pots and pans before. Since it was really cold when we were there, we ate in a lot, and having pots and pans and their lids and even spices and complimentary tea in the unit made our stay that much more enjoyable. The fireplace was also very welcome and a primary source of instant warmth given the high temps were only in the teens when we were there. There was plenty of space for everybody in our group of 6 and we also had fun doing the puzzles and playing the games that were in the cabinet in the living area.
We had an excellent stay at Boards and Bikes! The home was tastefully decorated and well kept as pictured. We had 4 adults and 4 older teens and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out comfortably, but also eat and play games around the same table. The fireplace was super cozy and warms the entire space. The kitchen was VERY well stocked and we did not come across any items we needed but could not find. We even used the waffle maker one morning! Our last day was pretty warm and we enjoyed time on the back porch surrounded by all the deer. The walk to the ski lift wasn’t awful, but coming back at the end of the day was rough on the skiers- a little better for the snowboarders! There is a bus stop right outside the complex but honestly don’t think it’s any closer than just walking. Would have loved a true ski in and out but this was the next best thing! The village is a super easy, quick walk- regular shoes make all the difference! The only complaint our party had were the pillows. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay!
This was our first time using VRBO, and this property set the bar high for future stays! The owners anticipated all of our needs and more. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.
The only issue we had was with check-in. We were supposed to receive the door code a few hours prior to our 4:00PM check-in. As we got closer to Snowshoe, my cell service disappeared before I received the code. We arrived at the property during a torrential downpour (still with no cell service), where I was able to log in to the WiFi while sitting on the covered porch. I sent a message to the property manager who responded within 10 minutes. On a side note, while waiting for the reply, we went to The Pizza Slice for dinner & would highly recommend it.
(On another side note, we found out why there’s no cell service. This area is an intentional quiet zone due to the nearby Greenbank Telescope.)
This property exceeded our expectations. It is clean, user friendly, conveniently located, comfortable, warm and inviting. We highly recommend this Treetop unit.
The place is very clean and had everything you would need for a great mountain getaway. Just a short walk to the village and all that Snowshoe has to offer.
