This was our second stay at this cabin. It was just as welcoming and relaxing as our first visit. We spent three nights here and really enjoyed the cozy cabin and nights by the fire pit. We did a lot of exploring around the cabin and surrounding area. It was just a short walk through the trees behind the cabin to get to the river where we sat and watched the water while our daughter played. The hosts were great to deal with and the check in and ouy was very smooth. I highly recommend this cabin.

Small trips with family are the best. This was a perfect weekend getaway. I wished we could have stayed longer there was so much to do in this area. Will definitely be back and cabin was perfect.

My husband and I try to take an annual anniversary trip to kayak a river. This cabin is a central location for multiple nearby options. It is easy to find and a very pretty cabin. Access to the River for a longer trip or heavy kayak not the best due to steep stairs but we made it work. Really enjoyed our stay!

This was the best cabin our family has experienced for vacation. It is the small details that are so meaningful: fishing poles, plenty of dishes and linens, games, and super clean. 30 min from restaurants and a few minute walk to river.

The cabin was perfect! Our family loved it so much, our children still talk about it and wish we owned it! We really appreciated that it was located away from the tourist spots and offered a truly peaceful retreat. The grounds were beautiful and the cabin was comfortable, plus supplied with so much. We couldn’t have asked for better communication with the owners and management, as well. We definitely hope to vacation here again in the near future!

My girlfriends and I really enjoyed the cabin. It was beautiful and very clean. Comfy beds also. If you are looking to truly get away this is the place for you. The only thing I would give a heads up on is this house is really on a hillside and it is bit treacherous to get down to the water.

The cabin and location are a great spot to go off of the grid. Nice furnishings, clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. Kayaking was a welcomed plus. I do recommend shoes, as the decent to the water and several rocky spots required us to have footing.

We loved our stay here for our honeymoon! Nice & private enough! Darin and his wife (property managers) were awesome - so quick to respond. Paul was quick to get back with us as well with questions we had before arriving. We were so please with the kayaking as well. We loved our experience at the Hillside Hideaway!

Upon entering the property, the calming music playing, selection of decorative items, cleanliness, amenities, this is just what we needed for a quick weekend getaway. The trail behind the property, the fishing, and the quietness allows you to relax and recharge by the fire pit. We loved our stay and look forward to another. So will you you.

We loved staying in this cabin. The property was private and peaceful. Our puppies loved running around the yard and barking at the wildlife. We went to the lake one day to kayak and SUP and boating another day for kneeboarding and tubing. Cute restaurants and lovely people. We did not see Big Foot though!!!

We absolutely loved our stay in the cabin. At first the power was out due to a big storm but as soon as those lights cut on me and my fiancé were in love with the whole house. We went out and had a big day of adventure the next morning. I was so tired after. I probably think of their comforter they have on the bed like 3 times a week!!!! It was so great.

Beautiful property and well maintained. Come prepared though it is about a 40 min. drive to groceries, gas or restaurant (other than a Dollar General or Mountain Creek store which has a GREAT Cheeseburger and sweet tea). Bring a steak or something to grill over the provided Hickory wood. The Fireflies really put on a show for us. Definitely a place to come back to(better prepared next time).

3 days of RnR in a Amazing little Cabin. It was magical right from the start as we walked in with low music playing setting the weekend off right. Very clean had everything we needed to cook all of meals. We checked out the Mountain Man Meat Market for all our meat for the weekend. The cabin is off the beaten path and very quiet. Walk to the river was nice with all the trees around. We were very glad we could bring our small dog. We have plans to return in the near future. We met the property manager Darin so nice and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
