"Breakfast is amazing and very friendly staff through out the hotel. The gym is a commercial one open to the public which means it was very well equipped and maintained, suitable for every type of gym user. The gym also has an indoor pool which we did not use so cannot comment on it. We had a room on the 6th floor with a view of the harbour and Valletta. The room was cleaned daily and refreshments (tea and coffee) replenished daily. Some of the rooms on the front of the hotel looked like they were in the shade all day and a view of the building in front. The outdoor pool looks like a rooftop pool from the pictures but is at sea level. This was not an issue and was excellent just thought it was going to be a roof top pool. Also, the outdoor pool does not belong to the hotel but is privately owned ‘Manta’ and only a limited number of beds are allocated to hotel guest. These beds are free to use but have to be booked the day before. The ‘Manta’ is an excellent venue we had snacks and poolside drinks there everyday, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall the whole facility is well run and managed, the combination of hotel owned and privately owned facilities makes for an excellent 5 star experience. Thoroughly recommend. Will be returning when we can "

"Left my credit card at the front desk when charged the $2 tax and it was stolen. Luckily my card company caught the first charge as fraud but disappointed that the hotel kept and lost the card. Beyond that hotel lobby was small and chaotic, elevator was slow, AC was broken. Not as expected."

"In a loud area but with an excellent sea view and pool. The breakfast isn’t great and neither is the lobby bar, the room smelled a little damp. Otherwise really cool"

"Check in was great. Family room was massive it was like a Presidential Suite. No toiletries in bathroom, I would expect it to be there. On certain days no on picks up the phone eg reception, housekeeping which was frustrating. Room A/C doesn’t work properly, hair dryer and bathroom tub drain doesn’t work, disappointed. Breakfast was excellent, great selection of full English and continental, juices was poor it was watered down. Breakfast staff was good. Indoor pool was fantastic along with the steam/sauna. Hotel was indeed a palace, very spacious and very close to ferry terminal 8-10min walk. I would not rate this as a 5 star premium hotel. It’s lacking in some areas. But a very good stay although."
