Alaska Off Grid Wilderness - Accessible by airplane, snowmobile or boat
Open all year, our wilderness lodge is 38 miles from the nearest road on the Iditarod Trail and only accessible by airplane, snowmobile or boat. Guest cabins and rooms are well heated and dry with no plumbing. Experience the real Alaska including boating, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding, cross country skiing, Northern Lights Viewing, Iditarod Dogsled race. Also wedding venue. Main lodge amenities: wifi, great food, bathroom, shower, and TV in our main lodge. Sauna available
The space We have beds for over 32 guests. There are 3 guest cabins which each sleep up to 6 people. We also have five guest rooms in a separate building. Two of these rooms sleep up to 4 guests and three rooms sleep 3 guests. All rooms and cabins have electricity 24 hours a day. No food is to be brought here by our guests excluding personal light snacks. Three meals a day are prepared and served in our main dining room at an additional cost of $95 per person per day. Our lawn is a good place to play games, or relax around our warm fire pit. Maybe you would also like to take a nice hot sauna. Transportation is not included in the Lodging price but we are happy to help you to make your flight arrangements. Flights are available from either Anchorage or Willow. Enjoy views of Mt Denali, Northern Lights, wildlife, and lots more nature scenes that you will not likely see unless you leave the road system and get into the Alaska Wilderness.
Guest access You will have access 24 hours a day to our main lodge facilities that include bathroom, sauna, TV, and gathering room. There are also outhouses located near the cabins for those who don’t mind the “wilderness potty”.
Other things to note Being in the wilderness means there can be wildlife in the area like moose, bears, wolves, coyotes, eagles and more. Rarely do we see bears or wolves on the property, but we want to make sure all of our guests are aware. Winter dress recommendations are: Wear layers rather than one big warm coat, so you can put more on or take some off depending on the temperature changes. Also you will be much warmer if your under clothing and socks are all wool or synthetic materials. Even 5% cotton content can be noticeably colder. Summer dress recommendations: Layers are good in the summer too. Also be sure to bring good rain gear. You may or may not need it but it is better to be safe than sorry. Also a summer standard item is mosquito repellant. Some say mosquitoes are Alaska's state bird. LOL
