The best area to stay in Skripero is within the main village itself, particularly around its central square, for an authentic Greek village experience.

The main village of Skripero is a charming, traditional settlement located in the hills of Corfu. It's characterised by narrow, winding streets, traditional stone houses, and a relaxed pace of life. The central square, often the heart of village activity, usually features a local taverna or kafenion where you can enjoy local cuisine and observe daily life. It offers a glimpse into traditional Corfiot culture away from the more tourist-heavy coastal areas.

Couples looking for a quiet, romantic retreat will find Skripero appealing. The village provides a tranquil setting, ideal for leisurely strolls through olive groves or enjoying a meal at a local eatery. Its elevated position also offers pleasant views of the surrounding countryside, great for those seeking a peaceful escape.

For travellers interested in exploring the island's interior and experiencing local life, staying in Skripero offers a convenient base.

The best time to go to Skripero is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather with warm temperatures and less humidity than the peak summer months. You'll find the island to be less crowded, meaning you can enjoy the natural beauty and local attractions without the hustle and bustle. The sea is also warm enough for swimming during these times.

For those looking to enjoy hiking and exploring the island's interior, May and October are particularly good. The landscapes are lush, and the temperatures are ideal for outdoor activities without being too hot. You can comfortably discover the traditional villages and olive groves that surround Skripero.

If your primary goal is a relaxing beach holiday with plenty of sunshine and swimming, late June and early September are perfect.
