About this property
Relaxing Escape in the Woods - 15 minutes from Marquette!
Comfortable, clean, private duplex, just 15 minutes from Marquette.
Surrounded by woods and next to Camp 4 Road (a gateway to snowmobiling, overlanding, and adventure mountain biking), this is a perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a gateway to adventure or a tranquil place to stay while still being just a few minutes from all that Marquette and the central Upper Peninsula have to offer.
You’ll enjoy high speed WiFi, in-unit washer and dryer, a well-appointed kitchen, and more.
The Space:
This comfortable, clean, private duplex connects to the other unit through a garage, so you have privacy and silence.
While it doesn't fit into any hip description of style or trendy architecture, it's well maintained, wonderfully comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful Upper Peninsula woods.
The living room has two couches, a coffee table, a smart TV, and a dedicated work desk. The drawers under the television have a variety of games and other fun things to do if you're stuck inside on a rainy or snowy afternoon.
The kitchen has a table to seat 6, a full-size range and oven, stainless steel sink, full-size refrigerator, and ample selection of cutlery, silverware, pots, pans, strainers (we stayed in a vacation rental without a strainer, once...), and cooking essentials. Coffee, tea, and a few basic instant meals (think ramen) are provided to tide you over until you can get to a grocery store.
There is a private washer and dryer in the basement.
The full bathroom has towels and wash cloths for 6, a basic assortment of toiletries, bug spray, med kit items, and other essentials.
The master bedroom has a king bed and a second smart television, along with a large closet, iron, ironing board, oscillating floor fan, and laundry basket.
The second bedroom has a double bed, smaller closet, oscillating fan, and children's toys and books.
The backyard has a small deck, propane grill, and fire pit that are shared with the other unit.
There is paved parking for one car in front of the garage, along with ample parking in the gravel, plowed areas for other vehicles and trailers. The driveway is a pull-through, U-shaped drive that connects with the neighboring duplex, making it easy to manage a snowmobile or 4-wheeler trailer.
The internet is a 300 MBPS symmetrical fiber optic connection that's distributed by a WiFi router. If you're looking for a serene place to work remotely, this is it!
Guest Access:
You have private, full access to the entire 2-bedroom, 1-bath duplex unit, including your own washer and dryer.
The garage is between the two units in this duplex, so there isn't a shared wall between you and the other unit. Please note that you do not have access to the garage.
The driveway, deck, backyard, fire pit and propane grill are shared between the units.
Other Details:
Most importantly, we know you're on vacation and are paying a modest cleaning fee. We'll ask you to wash your dishes and clean up any real messes in the kitchen, but we'll do the rest.
In the winter, we hire out the plowing and snow clearing. Our plow guys are fantastic and get to us as fast as they can, but there may be times when there is some notable snow on the ground before they arrive. The same goes for Yalmer Road.
The house is surrounded by beautiful, peaceful Upper Peninsula woods. We work hard to keep the residents of those woods outdoors where they belong, but you may encounter bugs, spiders, and furry friends. Mosquito season peaks in late May and June; we offer bug spray for our guest's convenience. We also have a perimeter rodent bait system around the foundation that does an excellent job of keeping mice out of the house. You're most likely to encounter a mouse in September and October when they're actively looking for places to spend the winter.
The house is about 15 minutes from Marquette, 20 minutes from the hospital, 25 minutes from the NMU campus, and 45 minutes from Munising and the Pictured Rocks. It's a wonderful gateway to adventure and exploration in the U.P.!

Great secluded property, yet only minutes away from restaurants, attractions and shopping. Spacious, had everything we needed. It was very clean and nicely furnished, plenty of space to put your belongings. We would stay again.
We stayed here for three nights while moving our daughter into NMU. Perfect location. Lots of space and updated. We did make a new little mouse friend that we spotted daily running around in the living room ☺️ Will definitely stay here again!
Great communication with host! Location was ideal - close enough to Marquette and shops, quiet and secluded enough for relaxing and being away from it all. House was clean, comfortable. Contactless check in was smooth and easy. Check out very easy - no long list of chores!
My boyfriend and I wanted a place out of the city in the woods to getaway to a quiet peaceful place. This Vrbo was perfect, everything super clean and stocked up well (so many kitchen supplies it was great!). Great location only 20min from Marquette, very comfortable and the owners were fast and responsive when we needed help.
I would 1000% recommend this place to everyone, will be coming back again :)
House was clean, well equipped, extra blankets, towels, fans. We appreciated that check out didn't involve cleaning. Nice touch having a few ramen packets. Listing was just a little ambiguous as to which rental we had booked (there is an A or B at 308, and maybe I missed where it was listed which one we booked). Stay was comfy and decently close to MQT.
We totally enjoyed our stay at this property & will definitely want to stay here again when in the area. Everything was just as described & pictured, was clean, & provided everything we needed. The setting is peaceful & beautiful with all the trees, & the colors were amazing. We'd hoped to have some wildlife visit the back yard, but had to be content with chipmunks!
It was a nice property. Great accommodations. Clean. Well equipped. we were all over the upper peninsula. Everything was about 2 hours away except Marquette. That is why the 3 stars for location Other than that, Perfect “Home base”. For our trip. I would recommend this property.
We stayed for two weeks and had an excellent stay. The hosts were so lovely and easy to work with. Communication was amazing, we never had to wait for an answer and they hurried to fix any problem we had during our stay. The duplex was clean and had a good amount of living space and lots of storage! Having a full kitchen on vacation was great as well. And the outdoor space was also lovely. Beautiful secluded location in the woods with a nice firepit outside. The only complaint we had was some hot water issues and that there was very little hot water and a bit inconsistently hot as well. Other than that, everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend staying here!
A nice quiet location 15 minutes from Marquette with phenomenal hosts! There were just a few small things that kept it from being perfect.Pros:*Great location on a seldom used road.*Some of the best hosts we've had.*Good bed, towels, and linens.*Good internet and amenities.Cons:*Duplex/Shared yard (though we didn't have anyone staying next to us, so no issue for us)*Old house woes (poor hot water pressure, very musty, etc.)Overall, we had a great stay and I would recommend it to most. The only people I'd caution against it are those with sensitive allergies (like me) as the mustiness triggered my allergies for our stay. My wife and boys had no issues though, so not a big deal for most!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The property was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The location was handy to many of the area’s recreational areas. We would gladly return.
Love the woodsy, quiet setting of this cabin, & the fact that it's close enough to Marquette so that we can still hit our favorite shops & restaurants! This is our second time to stay for almost a week here, & as long as our son & daughter-in-law stay in this area, it will continue to be our home away from home. It has everything that you need, & we just hated we never got around to using the fire pit or the grill!
Very relaxing. Had a family birthday party / reunion about four miles from your location. Cousins rented the attached unit. Was a great time. If I’m in the area again I will look you up for sure.
