The Pack Train Inn was very clean and well kept, breakfast was simple but done to order and very tasty. Very convenient to everything Skagway has to offer. I would absolutely stay here again.
Although there is no sign for the establishment and the sign-in instructions were incomplete, the facility was excellent plus centrally located to tour the town.
Finding the building was our biggest obstacle. A sign to direct where to register would be helpful. Once we were signed in we found the room to be very nice and a bonus that breakfast was included.
Pros:Beautiful room. High ceilings. Furniture high quality. Refrigerator.Location very convenient..Breakfast ok but times very limited, 07-08 am.
Cons: All rooms require going up 25 steep steps. No cups in the room. No hand towel holders. Room too warm and stuffy due to overhead sunken lights.
Large, comfortable room and bathroom. The place was well kept. The owners were very pleasant. The Inn was located in the center of town. I flew in. The Inn was a 5-7 walk. I will recommend and will stay again.
This was a very historic building right in the center of Skagway, AK. It had been beautifully renovated and wonderfully updated. The room was beautiful and very comfortable.
Great room, great breakfast and staff. The check-in procedure was odd, as there's no office onsite nor is the hotel name on the building. You'll need to make appointment to meet with the hotel owner for him to give you your key and code.
When I arrived, I could not find the hotel. There was no name on the outside of the building and when I knocked on the door, nobody came.
It took me about an hour and a half to get into the building. They understood that I was going to arrive at around 6 PM. Their rules were to allow you to arrive up to seven and that you could visit with the person on the first floor of which was absolutely vacant.
Once I got into my room, I found it to be very nice well assembled, and the manager was very accommodating and super nice other than the issue of getting in my day was good.
The manager cooked breakfast for you every morning that consisted of sausage and scrambled eggs and toast and a variety of other things which was a very nice addition
Staff, Sue, was the staff. Maid, Cook, etc.
No amenities!!! No drinking glasses. No
Extra pillows. No Kleenex. No coffee before 7:00-8:00 breakfast hour. No bottled water available, even with 10 cases of water in the breakfast room area.
Good location.
The main issue we had as there is no sign on the building! There is no way to identify you have arrived at the location. You have to get the room key from a store near the building ( we had to ask people in the street and eventually another store owner took us to the right store to get the key) very unprofessional and frustrating.
