"The front desk was rude and arrogant. Before I showed him my reservation. He said ā€œno reservationā€ in a condescending tone. After I showed our reservation and my husband stepped in speaking Turkish did his attitude change. The hotel spent the remainder of our stay trying to make amends with complementary fruit, Turkish coffee and candy. Too late for me. In addition, the cigarette smoke was overwhelming in the hallway. "Č˜Ć¼krĆ¼, thank you for all your help. Great staff. I wish there was air-conditioning in the room. The toilet flush was not working properly because you had to press it again to stop it once you flushed. No lamp. Good breakfast and staff there were good as well."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sivrihisar?
The best area to stay in Sivrihisar is generally within the town centre, particularly around the historical sites and the main square.

The town centre of Sivrihisar is quite compact and easily explored on foot. You'll find most of the significant landmarks, such as the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami) and the historic clock tower, clustered together. The main square often serves as a focal point, with local shops and eateries nearby. It's a place where you can get a real sense of the town's heritage.

For couples looking for a relaxed and culturally rich experience, staying near the town centre is ideal. You'll be within easy walking distance of ancient mosques, rock-cut churches, and traditional houses, allowing for enjoyable strolls and exploration at your own pace. The area offers a quiet charm, great for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.

Solo travellers will also find the town centre convenient and welcoming. Its central location means easy access to local life, opportunities to try regional cuisine, and straightforward navigation around the key attractions without the need for extensive travel.
When is the best time to go to Sivrihisar?
Sivrihisar is best visited during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically from May to June and September to October, to enjoy pleasant weather for exploring.

These periods offer comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15Ā°C to 25Ā°C, with less rainfall than the spring and fewer extreme highs than the summer. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities like visiting the Grand Mosque of Sivrihisar or exploring the historic houses. Couples will find these months particularly suitable for leisurely strolls through the town and enjoying meals at outdoor cafes without the intense summer heat.

While July and August are also popular, temperatures can often exceed 30Ā°C, which some travellers might find too warm for extensive sightseeing. However, if you don't mind the heat, these months offer long daylight hours.

For those interested in local culture and traditional events, it's worth checking the Sivrihisar municipality's calendar.
