The Happy Place

Welcome to our Happy Place, close to everything in Sioux Falls. When you step into this house, you can't help but smile and feel the positive energy that resonates. We have turned this home into a colorful piece of art filled with an eclectic mixture of refurbished and custom, high end and one of a kind type furniture, appliances, fixtures and decor.

For your comfort, the main bedroom features a higher end, medium soft queen size Serta Icomfort Hybrid mattress. The window treatments are custom made with draperies and Hunter Douglas top down/ bottom up Roman Shades. Please note, this is a small bedroom and the walkway around the bed is between 19"-24" which is perfectly adequate to most people but may prove difficult to those with mobility issues accustomed to sleeping on the left side of the bed.

The kitchen is fully equipped and features an original, refurbished 1950's refrigerator (so expect a little cubby for a freezer) and high end dishwasher with pullout drawers and concrete counter tops.

The bathroom is completely remodeled with designer tiles and fixtures.

The dining room holds a refurbished wood top and steel dining table and matching bench that was purchased from a local furniture dealer in town. The dining table sits 4 people very comfortably and is equipped with two dining chairs and one bench. The living room displays one of a kind, custom and eclectic furniture pieces designed and created specifically for this house. The window treatments include sheer curtains and top down/bottom up honeycomb shades.

The second bedroom hosts a very comfortable twin size bed and wardrobe. There is a foldable floor mattress in one of the closets that can be used to sleep a 4th person, assuming 2 people are sharing the queen bed. Tv options included are Hulu and Netflix through your own subscriptions.
PETS: Well behaved, outside potty trained dogs welcome, $30/stay.
WSCOOTER RENTALS
We have 2 Segway Ninebot Kickscooter Max G30P Scooters available for rent upon request & based on availability. If you would like to rent them, please let me know so I can check availability and so we can make arrangements for the reservation. I will send you a money request for the rental amount. We are not liable for any accidents or injuries. They would be great to take downtown or to go check out the Falls Park or any events at the Levitt Center or even the zoo. Rentals available April-October if there is no snow on the ground.

The Happy Place is a perfect little house. I would have actually liked to know more about the property's history. We were very comfortable there-I loved the old Philco refrigerator that is still running perfectly. Interesting artifacts to explore. The shelving gave me ideas for my own little cottage in PA. Thank you Emily!

Funky, Comfortable, and Easy

The sweet home was a perfect stopover with our two dogs. The house is clean, neighborhood walkable, and easy to access. We would definitely stay again.

Nice little house in a great location!

The house was perfect for a couple night stay for work. I loved how clean the house was and especially how comfortable the bed was. Would highly recommend and would stay again if I ever go back to Sioux Falls

Lovely stay full of family memories

The Happy Place was just what we were looking for in a small, cozy stay while visiting relatives in Sioux Falls. Emily's communication with us was excellent, and everything in the booking information was up to date and accurate. The home was clean and inviting, the beds were both comfortable, and the kitchen was equipped well enough to prepare simple meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Happy Place, and think you will, too!

Our Happy Place

After 6 days of travelling we finally had 2 nights great sleep. The home comes as advertised, quirky and fun with everything you require for a great stay. Hosts were great and very helpful with our questions, weather dropped overnight and the house was cozy and comfortable. Great area to walk a dog if you have one. I would highly recommend this for a short or longer stay.

Pet friendly

The community was nice, and so was the neighbors. There are a lot of dogs in the area. There is a park to walk to and play in 2 blocks from the house. It was a nice walk and a great place to play. We all had a great time.

Adorable and Comfortable

We were in town for just one night, and this house was the perfect place to stay. Located in a quaint neighborhood and an easy drive to Falls Park and the downtown area. When we arrived we were greeted with a personalized welcome note with helpful info. The home is full of fun decor and all the comforts of home, with a super comfy bed and nicely updated bathroom. Would definitely stay again if back in the area.

It Really is a Happy Place

Easy to find location, helpful notes throughout house. Hosts are so thoughtful- they went above and beyond to make sure we not only had a pack and play to use during the visit, but they also had a few children’s books, a toddler seat to make sitting at the dining table easier for our 2 year old- they thought of everything! We felt like we were visiting Grandma’s house- just much more stylish and updated! It truly made us happy. We hope to stay here again next time we are in the area!

Pit stop in Souix Falls

We were traveling with our dogs in a sprinter van and were able to park it in the driveway. The house was clean and neat, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom has been renovated and had ample hot water. Since we were just staying overnight, I didn’t find the coffee and filters until leaving. I would suggest more labels and a coffee service in the counter.

Just okay

I’ll start with the positives: I appreciated how communicative the hosts were. It was great to hear they recently purchased a pack and play and high chair - two fewer things to unpack from the car. The bathroom was the best room of the house. Issues: met with a speed boat and motorcycle parked in front of the house; trailer parked in the driveway; dirty, heavily spider-webbed front porch. The garage was missing its side door and appeared to be full of junk. There was no second exit. Inside the property I was most upset by the fact that a dishwasher is listed but the host requests guests wash and dry dishes by hand and put them away, and no sponge or dishrag were provided. As I said in my title, just okay. Also, very close to the zoo. Your nose will tell you as much.

Comfortable place with everything you would need for a short stay. Stopped here for a night between two days of long drives, and it helped refresh us and get ready to hit the road again. Dedicated driveway is very convenient, and the neighborhood is safe and great for walking dogs.

We stayed here overnight and found The Happy Place to be conveniently located with easy access to restaurants and grocery store. Beds and couches were super comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. Some older homes smell musty but this was not the case in The Happy Place. I was especially pleased with the neighborhood, which felt very safe. We would definitely stay again!
