Central Fire Station is the oldest existing fire station in Singapore, and is located at Hill Street in the Museum Planning Area, within the Central Area, Singapore's central business district. The Central Fire Station was gazetted as a national monument on 18 December 1998.

The National Museum of Singapore is a great place to learn about Singapore's history. It is the oldest museum in Singapore but all the galleries have a unique modern flare, which I loved.

I highly recommend their current exhibition Singapura: 700 Years. It commemorates Singapore's 50 years of independence and is the perfect way to learn how Singapore grew from a small village to the financial capital that it is now.
