Location was good and price was good. I had an individual room and it was the size of a closet with barely space for luggage. Good wi-fi but no realr room to work. Also a 4th floor walk-up with no offer to help with luggage. Trashcan in kitchen was overflowing with garbage

Worst hostel / experience ever, would not recommend this place to everyone for any reason. The pictures are missleading and are from a long time ago. Please please stay somewhere else, anywhere else but not here.

Clean and comfortable for budget.
I would return to this hostel, let's start there. I have a bad foot and the stairs can be a bit treacherous after a long day of walking. That's probably the biggest negative I encountered. If you're fit and not constantly in pain, you'd be just fine. It's hot and the a/c never totally beats the heat, but oh well. I booked 2 nights in the 10 bed mixed dorm, which was almost empty on the first night. The second night the room was full, but still not too bad approaching capacity. It is clean, and there was always a bathroom or shower stall open when I needed it. Someone kept using my designated shoe bin, so I abandoned my shoes on the stairs. I was given a locker key and never really felt unsafe enough to have to use it, but it was helpful for keeping my stuff out of the way. I was backpacking through; the locker does not fit a backpack, just choice personal items. Nice community feel in the morning when having toast and tea. Old rucksack inn tourist notes on the walls in the hall and dining area from the previous hostel were charming and unexpected.

good things: pleasant reception staff, fresh clean linen on beds, simple free breakfast, good wifi, easy MRT Clarke Quay and City Hall (less changes there) not so good: reception CLOSED 6pm-8am - email came too late with access info; this is just another hostel where a lot of beds are squeezed in; limited shower and toilets, several fire exit signs not working

Great location in Clark Quay
Stayed in the 10 bed dorm and the bed was comfortable and a/c works great. Lockers were appreciated. Staff are very friendly. Wi-fi is very good.

Great choice for my hostel experience in Singapore
Amazing stay! All Receptionists were so nice and helpful. Impressive! Location is very good and quiet. Hostel's conditions were good. Except the aircond was not located perfectly when 2 bed was cold and the other Two hot like desert when Roomate adjust aircond to 28. Omg.

Terrific Place And Location To Stay!
This location was great! Centrally located near restaurants and shops. The staff over exceeded excellent guest service! It is in a safe area and has a lovely breakfast with coffee or tea.

Staff exceptionally helpful and courteous. Single room cannot be called a room. Just a cubicle. Width of a single bed and maybe less than 3feet more than the length of the bed. Could hardly enter. No window but this information is given when booking. The bottom edge of the bed is hollow. I nearly sank down to the floor when sitting at the edge. Very steep stairs. No ground floor. Reception is on the 1st floor. Received clear and detailed information regarding late night check-in and all went smoothly. Though checked-out, was able to to shower before late evening flight. Good place for the young.

Great stay in hostel in a private room.
We had a great stay, we were upgraded from a double to a family room, which we appreciated very much. The bed was comfy, the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately my daughter got sick on our last day in Singapore and they accommodated with a 6 PM check out for a small fee, which was fantastic and helped a great deal. Shared shower and toilet facilities were clean. Only thing we missed was a towel, however most people staying in hostels would have their own. We bought a small one in a nearby supermarket as we were planning to go to a waterpark on our last day. (They probably would have rented us one had we asked).

Amazing location, Modern & Clean
This place is one of the best places I've stayed. It goes above and beyond what I expected for the price. Everything was very clean and I appreciate that more than anything. It's also in a great location close to all the pubs and Singapore River. Also less then 5 min walking distance to the subway.

At first when I saw the hotel from outside, I was thinking... oh no!!!! But to my surprise, the room was big enough for four of us and the staff was the best ever. They really try to help you and always have a smile, loved it. The location was great, near to everything. 100% satisfied

The Best for the Budget
Listen there is no getting around the fact that Singapore ain't a cheap place to stay. I am sorry it just isn't and so there is no point stressing the fact. So its back to hostel land which Beds and Dreams is (is that really the best name they could come up with? apparently not as the place as 'Rucksack' daubed all over its walls). Its very clean though and the staff were as friendly as and so our time there whilst a tad cramped was perfectly fine. The breakfast of toast and more toast if you want it was hardly worth the effort but this is an observation more than a complaint. In all for our 3 night stay if was fine for us.

You get what you pay for (sometimes less)
I arrived from Bali after a harrowing 3 hours at the airport as the customs tried to sort out my passport issue. Then at the door of the hostel, (which was now 3am) it was locked!! Waited for at least 20 mins for night staff to open the door finally had to ring a number which eventually was picked up and I was given a code to let myself in. Up stairs, still no staff so being exhausted, i found myself a bed and crawled in - after half an hour the night staff burst into the room demanding my passport and booking docs.!! I then gave her the booking docs and she left me alone to sleep. Then at about 6.45am the jack-hammers began and it sounded like it was on the other side of the wall!! When I finally got up at about 9am, the jack-hammers were still going strong!! The reception lady was very terse and was admonishing me for arriving late and not ringing in advance. We then got into a shouting match!! There was no apology or a shred of understanding that airlines did not run according to the schedule of the hostel!! My advice is to give this hostel a wide berth!!

Nice place for family with kids
Stayed with family including 15-year daughter in the 4 bunk bedroom for 5 nights. Nice room, air-conditioned, clean bedding, clean showers and washrooms. Good enough breakfast whilst getting to know other boarders. Unlike traditional backpacker hostels which are noisy, this place is very quiet throughout including lounge area, which is nice when you're staying with family and kids. Front office staff were all awesome, always eager to help. We received great advise on which places to visit in Singapore given our short stay, and were able to purchase Zoo tickets at discounted rates. Very close to Clarke Quay MRT, but can go more places from Chinatown MRT which is less than 5 minutes walking. Lastly, since our flight was late night, we were allowed to use lounge and showers facilities after check-out. All in all, a great and quiet place for family. Would visit again. Recommended A+

*Don't like can not wear shoes in side the hostel. *Breakfast was bit poor, no milk no cereal (well cant expected more with the cheap price I paid). *Good to have microwave but was bit dirty inside after many guest used it.

Nice hotel it's close to almost everything.
Extremely helpful staff. We had four heavy bags of luggage. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but two women in the staff helped us carry them all the way to the 4th floor and back down when we had to leave. The staff also offered to help call a taxi because our flight was very early in the morning. The place is very clean. Toilets and showers on each floor. Breakfast is simple, tea/coffee, white bread and four different jams (the kaya - the green coconut one - is delicious!). There was also a fridge and microwave to cook and store our own food.

I bought a towel from spotlight before returning to the hostel for the night, and used that towel exactly once to bathe before it was stolen. I was given another towel to compensate for the loss, but after another single usage it was stolen again. The staff then offered to provide a towel for rent, which I turned down. The hostel needs to do something about towel thieves.

Budget but everything you need!!
Arrived outside of check in hours and the staff kindly left a note at reception telling us what to do. They also left a note on the room and on each bed so we couldn't go wrong. The living space was large and very sociable. Made more friends here than anywhere in our trip! There is a toaster, microwave and fridge available for use. Toast, tea and coffee is also available at all times. We love this place for a budget stay in an expensive city. It's also very close to china town for their cheap food street ($5 a plate). A MRT station is less than 5 minutes walk.

Single room is not 10square meter
I booked a single room. It is said that single room is 10 square meter. But it is actually just exactly 2.5 square meter, too small to breath, and there is no space for moving. My comment is only about the single room, I am not sure about other types of room this hotel provides.

Nice hotel...near clark quay, mrt stn and chinatwn
Nice room... Not so expensive unlike other hotels in SG...but the problem is, its not easy to find since there is no signage outside the hotel but the staff will be kind enough to email directions prior to check in. Also, no lifts/elevators on this hotel, so if your carrying a trolley with you, you'll have to carry it all the way up. This hotel has 5 floors on it fyi.
