Small rooms, but staff friendly and helpful (only one man - who does it all!). No desks in the room, not really for people needing to do work on laptop etc.
So, I want to clarify that Lion Peak Hotel Purvis doesn't exist anymore. I showed up with my booking, and I realized the entire hotel closed down. There’s miscommunication there between Expedia and the hotel company. Arriving at a hotel that didn’t exist anymore definitely sent me into panic mode.
However, I was able to carry my suitcase to another hotel by the same company, Lion Peak Hotel Bugis, and my stay there was very pleasant. Seeing that I prepaid for my Purvis accommodation, LPHB gave me a nice room with a window. Housekeeping staff was lovely and attentive.
I stayed for 23 days alone while waiting for my apartment lease to start. Great location. No fridge, but that was totally OK, because there were many restaurants and 7-Elevens nearby. Desk staff were also nice and helpful too!
I would caution families that hotel walls are very thin so the hallways could be noisy at times, but that didn’t bother me at all.
Very pleasant experience!
The property was so convenient and accessable to all shopping area, restaurant and place to hangout the only thing i dont like is i book the place with window and what is in the picture, but when we reach there no any window its totally diffrent than the picture

Unable to get someone in the middle of night!
Air-con malfunction during middle of night and unable to get someone to fix it.
Have to bear with the heat and was trying to sleep through the night until it’s being fixed next day.
Not a pleasant experience for one night.
I am appalled at the level of cleanliness in a hotel in Singapore. It doesn't matter whether the hotel of 6 or 3 stars, there has to be some sort of benchmark for cleanliness and hygiene that any establishment must adhere to. Basic cleanliness is prerequisite that any customer MUST expect without having to demand for it.
1. I arrived and checked in late at night to unnecessary drama. The receptionist could not get approval from American Express because she utilised the pay wave function repeatedly without any success. I suggested that she use the manual method, her response was, ‘We do not have that facility in this hotel. I suggested she call the manager and when the manager came on then, he told her to use the manual method and stick the card into the machine. Something she kept insisting they did not have.
There was a bad smell coming from somewhere in the room. It was already last midnight and after the hassle of checking in, I did not think the staff was competent enough ti deal with any other problems. And when I went to the bathroom and lifted the toilet seat there was an unhealthy amount of mould that you wouldn’t even find in a public toilet in Singapore. I left for work and meetings in the morning hoping to bring this up with someone, but no one was present at reception.
When I returned at around 5.00 pm, the room was not cleaned nor made up.
There no signage for hotel , you have walk through a restaurant to get to hotel ..lol.and use fire exit to leave when it is closed . To get in you have go another hotel at 23 Middle street and asked to let in by the fire exit through the restaurant kitchen .
The room was modern and comfortable
It a hotel that was not
This is a hotel to avoid
The property was just bought from the former Kai Hotel and is really not ready for full operation as it is clearly understaffed. First day I checked in, there were no staff at all, and was assisted by staff from the other Lion Peak Hotel at Raffles. In the following days there was only one staff who did everything! ..... from front office to house cleaning! He did the best he could but clearly the fault lies with management. Centralized air conditioning seems to not go lower than 25 C (even though the thermometer was adjusted to 21-22 C) and it was too warm for a comfortable sleep. Water heater seems to be maxed at lukewarm (which seems to be a cost saving measure that I also encountered with other budget hotels). This is actually more of a boutique hotel and the room amenities were actually good. I had a huge bathroom (but poorly lit) and the two twin beds were adjustable slumber beds! So the issue is staffing more than anything else.
The hotel has a good location, walking distance to Marina Bay and other nice places. The room is a bit tight. Poor lighting in the bathroom and sink area. The shower was ok. Not much water pressure when trying to take a hot shower. Cold water setting had better pressure. The beds were super comfortable. Nice A/C. Complimentary water and cookies and coffee every day. Overall it was a good hotel.
The room didn't have a window and it is small, but that is not a problem since I was by myself. The staff were very helpful and it is a convenient location to walk to everything and close to the metro. I rarely stay in the room and I would rather explore. So this is a perfect place to just come back to recharge.
Make sure to book the big (suite) room which is spacious enough for 3 persons (1 double bed and 1 single bed on the mezzanine). Location is super central, 2 mins walk to The Raffles, walking distance to many point of interests, plenty of bars and places to eat too. 6 mins walk to City Hall MRT which goes straight to the Airport. The hotel itself is modern and clean with helpful staff. Other rooms are compact which I stayed in the past, good for me, for the price I paid and what I get is good considering Singapore is very expensive city.

Just so-so only
Room is small enough for solo traveller but not advisable for family. Room is clean but somehow the bed sheet and the pillow cases are old and there are yellowish spots.
It was good space but its just no privacy between with other neighbours, we can hear the neighbours voices . Didnt expected the toilet bowl is outside the bathroom.
The room is really small, but the price is acceptable. Kettle is missing in my room. There is only 1 staff I met, who is the receptionist. The room is really hot. The location is however quite convenient.
The room is very small. It’s more like a capsule hotel. The picture made it look much bigger than The actual size. It’s a good location and the lobby looks nice otherwise.

Staycation
Had a 1 night staycation in the Heritage suite Rm 2B. Nice quaint boutique hotel and room.
Web Pic and room is the same.
Room was equipped with Microwave toaster, washing machine, cutlery, dining table, sink, 2 seperate toilets (main toilet with shower)
Beds were a bit low and soft. Some guests may have difficulty getting up from the bed
Some points for the management to consider
1. The toilet sink water flow was slow - appears to be a choke
2. The shower area did not have a step to stop shower water from entering the main area. I guess it is a design decision
3. The light switches (about 10 on the side wall) were not labeled and one had to switch on each switch to test. Quite a job to remember. Also at night, you may end up switching on the lights (not the one you want) and affecting sleeping persons
4. The center lights switch was down by the power plugs area and if you don't search, you would think the lights were not connected
5. The room is actually a huge loft area - you need to climb stairs from the main door. Guest should be told about this fact. If you had a huge, heavy luggage - good luck in moving up and down.
Surrounding area had a lot of food / drink choices.
Transport links are good with the Bugis MRT about 10 mins stroll (faster if one walks fast but one would still be held up by having to cross traffic lights)
Overall - a nice staycation in a central area with food and transport easily available
