The rooms are spacious, clean and have all the amenities as advertised. I especially liked the fridge and washer/dryer in the room. It is at a convenient location with a supermarket and restaurants just downstairs. The rooms managed to stay quite quiet.

Spacious clean room with a small kitchenette and added bonus of a washer dryer. For an extended stay it had all we needed. It is unconventionally located in a refurbished secondary school but this added to its charm. There are restaurants, shops and a supermarket just downstairs but room is quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Love Alma house, the staff all so warm, friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice, clean and neat. I felt very safe during my stay. I would definitely recommend to my friends if I wasn’t a gatekeeper.

e stayed for about a week with four people, two children and two adults. The staff is very nice and helpful and extremely pleasant. The stay in a stylish yet functional room was very comfortable and I hope to use it again during my next stay in Singapore.

We enjoyed our stay at Alma, very clean and the family room we booked had lots of room. Great bathroom and bedrooms. Quite a way from MTR but they do offer a free shuttle.

Stayed for 2months while transitioning to new accommodation. Love the New Bahru area. While living/working solo, has a great buzz and easy walk to For Canning MRT and the riverfront for exercise. Excellent apartment, just big enough, comfortable and everything you need.

There's a supermarket downstairs, the reception is very friendly and helpful, alot western food downstairs and bars, a very unique vibe, and for transport there's free shuttle bus to fort canning mrt and orchard everyday. The room is clean and nicely maintained. excellent service at reception.

Clean comfortable and convenient

Very comfortable and convenient stay overall. The location is good with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Public transport is a bit away ( nearest MRT was over 750m away). The place has lots of character and cool vibes. Would have been excellent if they had coffee makers in the room.

Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommend!

I recently stayed at Alma House, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff was welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel’s location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Loved our stay at Alma House. We didn’t know when we booked that the shopping center the hotel is in is the new hip area of town. The restaurants were fantastic! And there is a popular playground downstairs that our little one loved and played in every day. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, the little apartment has everything you need — and you never run out of hot water 🤗

Staying here for a week was a great decision. Not only is the property comfortable and spacious, it’s walking distant to some amazing areas around Singapore. The only downside was the lack of sound proofing. You can hear every conversation and footstep in the hallway and all the movements in the room next door. That being said, I still really enjoyed my time here. The access to all of the cafes, restaurants and boutique stores on the property is a major plus. Coffee from PPP every day was a highlight and there’s a supermarket just downstairs which is super handy

Alma House is such a unique place to stay — a beautifully converted former school, complete with a doorbell that still sounds like the old school bells! The location is fantastic, with great cafes, restaurants and shops, plus a Cold Storage super market right downstairs for convenience. The staff were friendly and responsive via WhatsApp, which made everything easy. The in-room laundry in the Studio was a lifesaver on hot days, and while rooms are only cleaned on Tuesdays and Fridays, we were able to request fresh towels without any hassle. River Valley has a lovely local feel — tucked away just enough for peace and quiet, but still within a 15-minute walk to Orchard Road. Just a heads-up: it’s not super close to an MRT station, so if public transport is your main mode of travel, you’ll need to factor that in.

Very convenient location, easy walk to Riverside dining bars and shopping and a short taxi ride to most other places. There are restaurants and a grocery shop right down stairs. The newish room is a reasonable size and a good bed but is not quite up to it for the longer stays. There are simple things like providing dishcloths and tea towels and fresh towels more regularly to complete lack of storage for and food and an extremely tiny fridge in the kitchen area and very limited storage for clothes and bags and a poor excuse for a couch. 4 stars because of the location and the room is ok but not good, let down by poor design. Do really appreciate the combination washer dryer.

My partner and I stayed two weeks in a second floor studio room which had washing and cooking facilities. The washing was invaluable, as it is so hot in Singapore, clothes only get a single use. The cooking facilities were basic, but it's cheaper to eat out at a hawker than buying groceries at the nearby cold storage. We did cook a couple of times, but nothing elaborate. The bed was a little hard for my liking, but the pillows were very comfy. Be aware that the soundproofing of the rooms is not great. We were lucky the first week, all was quiet, but the second week our neighbours turned their TV up very loud. We could also hear the music from something nearby in the mornings on the weekend. We suspected this was a local exercise class. The bathroom was fine and the rainfall shower had good pressure. The downside was that it would spray everywhere, soaking the floor. The room should really come with a squeegee mop or similar to deal with wet floors in the 3-4 days between room service. As everything got wet so often, there was a dehumidifier supplied in the room which we had to keep running 24/7. This increased the noise levels throughout the room, so if you are a light sleeper, it could be difficult. The location is about 15 minutes walk from an MRT station with some slight hills. There is a shuttle bus that runs between Orchard and New Bahru, but it only runs from midday until 8pm. Overall Alma House is a decent place to stay if you are okay with the walking and the noise.
