Tiny island in the River Calder This is a few yards downriver from where the true line of the footpath (FP52) crosses the Calder at a ford, it then crosses back again using another ford. Most people just follow the bank and don't go wading.
Gooseleach Wood This wood, along with most of SD7633, is currently under threat from a proposal to build a racecourse here.

Fantastic Hotel. We’ve used it a few times now. Very clean, big rooms and comfy beds. My father in-law left his jacket in his room, he only realised when we had got home. Very quiet area to stay and great opportunity to recharge/relax in the spa/gym facilities. Our room was nice and big with an extra comfy bed. Kitchen offers gluten free food for breakfast and the rest of the day. Plenty of parking available.
