Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Șimonești?

The village of Șimonești is the most convenient base. It's a small, compact community with the main road, DJ137, running through it. Here you'll find the local shops, a few eateries, and the village church. Staying in the village provides easy access to local amenities and a chance to experience daily life.

For couples looking for a peaceful getaway, staying in one of the guesthouses just outside the main village offers a more secluded experience. These often feature views of the rolling hills and forests, with opportunities for gentle walks right from your doorstep.
When is the best time to go to Șimonești?
The best time to visit Șimonești for pleasant weather and outdoor activities is during the late spring, summer, and early autumn months, specifically from May to September.

During these months, the weather is generally warm and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Harghita region. You'll find comfortable temperatures for hiking, cycling, and enjoying the local scenery without the extremes of winter. This period is also when the local flora is in full bloom, offering picturesque landscapes.

For those interested in cultural events and local traditions, the summer often features various festivals and celebrations in the surrounding villages.
