Rustic, but Quaint, Motel Room

Silver Gate Lodging is located only 2-3 miles from the NE entrance to Yellowstone. The room has been remodeled and was comfortable. The property manager greeted us promptly at the counter in the General Store. She gave us a quick rundown of other businesses nearby for food, coffee, etc. She offered free internet while sitting on the General Store front porch. The other guests were very friendly with a community type atmosphere around the fire pit. The Log Cabin Cafe across the road is delicious with great service too!

Very close to Yellowstone Northeast entrance. Across the street from a great restaurant. Cute store in office. There was only WiFi at the office, not in the rooms. Room was dreary.

Lighting

I’ve stayued there before—early 2000’s, but this time it was so dark in our room that we could not read in bed! The overhead light only had one bulb and casts shadows on your book. The bedside lantern gave only a “nite lite” glow, so not good enough to read by. The bathroom is painted ecru and one bulb lit up the whole room. If you could paint the 4 walls of the bedroom white/cream instead of the dark green, it would be less dark and since the bed is the most comfortable sitting place to read, there would be enough light to see.Other than the light issue it was PERFECT!
