Wonderful
All reviews shown are from real guest experiences. Only travellers who have booked a stay with us can submit a review. We verify reviews according to our guidelines and publish all reviews, positive or negative.
The property was just as described, so those that have given it negative reviews, well, I didn't get it. Exposed wiring? None. Trouble with stairs? None. I'm sure those people are naysayers no matter what. We were within walking distance to many locations, including the beach, electric bikes, and food / bars (check out the Daquiri Bar). The pool area is great!!! If you need to go elsewhere, call the Frog Hopper (free but please tip) and you can go anywhere! Really enjoyed our stay!

Nice place close to the stickney and Midnight pass
Cute spacious property with everything necessary for a great trip.
Overall house was in good order and location was great. Walking distance to beach and pool right around the corner. Place is a little dated but overall felt safe. Had a chance to see rabbits and lizards all over, watch out for the mosquitos that would be the only negative but has nothing to do with the place.
Location was great. Short walk to the beach and the outside storage closet full of beach chairs (5) and umbrella and all kinds of sand toys and even a fishing pole and cooler, made it very nice. Pretty community. Must eat breakfast at the “Toasted Mango Cafe”!
Absolutely everything was perfect and how described in the information on the Property. I would recommend this to anyone that would want to go spend some time with family or friends here at siesta key. 10/10 worth every penny

Reviewer Comments:
Very spacious condo with a nice pool area. Easy access to the beautiful beach. Convenient location close to restaurants and a short shuttle ride to Siesta Village. Will definitely consider staying here again.
Overall this was a great rental.
The A/C was noisy and made a loud banging sound a few different times but worked.
The unit itself could handle a good deep clean. Carpets especially seemed stained and dirty.

Reviewer Comments:
The condo was well maintained and clean. The upstairs bedrooms were hot at night because keeping the thermostat downstairs at 73 meant the upstairs bedrooms were at 76. Need to update the electronics.
We loved our stay at Midnight Cove II - the condo is in a great location - very close to pool, short walk across the street to the beach (which is simply gorgeous!) The condo itself was very clean. Beautiful bathrooms which I'm guessing were recently updated. Maintenance had to come in the middle of the week b/c of pipe leaking into the unit below us - they were professional and courteous, work was completed quickly and with virtually no inconvenicen to us. Aside from the bathrooms, the unit is starting to show its age - patches on the family room ceiling and terrible water stains on the carpet. Kitchen needs updating, and mattresses not terribly comfortable. But overall very spacious and comfortable.
Cons:
Only minor issues. It rained a lot, and the windows to leak some. There are two wet spots (or prior wet spots) that have black mold on the ceiling. Repairs should probably be looked into if haven’t already. Chairs provided aren’t in the best condition, one completely unusable. Gate to beach stopped working a few times. We were able to hop around it to get to the beach, but not everyone can do that.
Pros:
The home is huge, spacious and beautiful. Living room is gorgeous with enough seating for everyone. Kitchen and dining room are perfect. Upstairs rooms are great too. The one room with the twin beds is very small, but fine for kids. Master bedroom/bathroom is luxiourous. Location of home to docks are perfect, location to trash is so close as well. It’s really an ideal location. Walk to the beach is long, so prepare for that. But it’s wonderful having it’s own private gate access to the beach across the street. Beach is absolutely breathtaking!!! We really enjoyed our stay.

Very Disappointing
This condo is the worst we've stayed in at Midnight Cove II. It's VERY dated. The kitchen must be the original from 40-50 years ago. I'll even bet the lining paper in the drawers goes back 30 years! Dishes leave much to be desired. Some small appliances must be as old as the unit. The living room is very dreary. Big heavy clunky furniture that blocks the view of the canal. The dining room table is glass and not appropriate for kids; the chairs are stained and are heavy; felt bad for anybody below us because of the noise that is made when you move them. The stairs are a trip hazard, and the lock on the slider out to the balcony in the main bedroom is broken which was a bit dangerous for little children. The faucet in half bath on the main floor sprays all over. The beach chairs were terrible but at least the property manager replaced a few of them. The beach umbrellas are cheap. I think that quite sums up this property...cheap and dated. We would never come back. It's hard to believe that we had to pay so much money for this unit with the shape it's in.
We would never stay here again! This place needs major updating. The kitchen and appliances are set back in the 1980’s (oven does not work) there’s exposed wiring throughout the unit and the breaker box seems overloaded as the lights would flicker when flipping light switches and outlets would spark and trip the breaker. The dryer did not work either and the carpet and baseboards need a good cleaning.
We brought these issues to owner’s attention and all they could suggest was to send their technician to coach us on how to use an oven. (highly insulting) It’s not like the stove was a Viking or Wolf, it’s an old 1980’s electric oven/stove top. Needless to say, we had to hand dry our clothes outside all week and nothing was resolved. Our parting gift was an exposed nail on the rotted staircase leaving the condo that my daughter stepped on.
I’ve attached photos on booking.net for this unit, as this review will not allow us to attached them.

Reviewer Comments:
We checked in on Wednesday late afternoon to find that the ENTIRE master bedroom was flooded due to a leak in the sliding glass wall. This did not happen overnight - looking at the ceiling and the baseboard it has been an ongoing problem! It should have been inspected prior to our checking in! You did have someone out immediately to remedy the problem (very nice company), but we had to sleep with fans blowing, carpet lifted, and an awful disinfectant smell! The DVD player was completely broken - but we did not discover this until AFTER we had rented two movies (at our expense). No extra toilet paper, no laundry detergent, no dishwashing soap . . . just little things that are usually provided in these rentals were missing. Generally, we can imagine that the place is a great place to stay, located appropriately for the price - BUT we were very disappointed with the condition we found it in!!!
Communication with VRBO was not extremely beneficial, but Rent Siesta Key was helpful. The condo had a fairly stocked kitchen, but no hot pads and only one kitchen towel and dish rag. We have stayed other places in Siesta Key through VRBO that had all kinds of supplies readily available such as spices, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, quite a few paper products etc and they were quite a bit cheaper for the week, for the same season. That was a little disappointing, but not necessarily a reason not to stay here. There were some things I thought could use attention, black electric tape on an extension cord in the living room, the carpet at the edge and under the couch had not been vacuumed for quite some time, the closet and laundry bi fold doors needed some major cleaning, the front door lock was a little difficult on occasion, the sliding doors; both sets were also hard to use. We would have enjoyed keeping the front door open; however there was such a large gap above and below the door, we figured that bugs or even lizards may get into the unit so we kept the main door shut. The gate to get to the beach needed repairs as it was loose and had to be shoved to come open. We also found out that we had beach access, but no spot to actually sit at the beach without heading north or south after getting to the beach. One side was for Midnight Cove, which we found out was not affiliated with Midnight Cove 2 and the other was for another unit. Very misleading.
Everything was as advertised except the beds. The mattresses were hard as a rock and the mattress protector is a rough plastic. Owner swapped out the two twins for a full not long before our arrival. The rental agency offered a full refund but it was too late to find something else. Other than that it’s a great place. Also you can’t store anything outside due to the HOA or whatever it’s called here so be prepared to take everything inside or store it somewhere else. If you want to rent a kayak or paddle board it can be problematic. If you have a truck you can store it there. Otherwise you have to pay an additional storage fee to use the rack and it was full when we were there.
The condo was as expected, clean and roomy. The property is well maintained, very nice pool, quite at night. The amenities provided by owner was not as good as other places we have stayed at Siesta Key but would stay here again
Great location. Unit needed a little work. Guest bedroom had old leak and ceiling stained and drooping in the corner. Carpet had multiple stains. Overall the unit had a lot of room and was very nice.
We really like the location of this condo. It was close to the pool and a short walk to the beach. While we didn’t hear any of the people connected to us, there were a few times when the noise from outside was pretty loud.
The layout of the condo was nice too. Everybody had their own space and the group space was good size for the four of us.
My only suggestion would be to get rid of the high pile carpet because it is pretty dirty and I was always worried about carrying in sand and put in a durable Berber that would be easier to keep clean and still keep the noise down from upstairs.
Overall, it was a good stay.
Water damage to the ceiling in twin bedroom made it so one bed couldn't be used. Mattresses on twin beds were not acceptable. Light colored carpet has many stains and is dirty on our arrival. One bathroom door has a hole in it. A couple refrigerator shelves are broken. Making these repairs would make this a great unit.
Nice updated bathrooms and plenty of room to gather with family. Need to repair leaks during heavy rain in ceiling. Could use new queen mattress.

Great location and friendly meighbors
We have been coming to Siesta Key for over 30 years and have stayed at many different places. It was very close to the beach and easy to reach the beach. Outdoor light does need to be replaced. It blinked a lot. We were also happy that we were able to rent for 10 days instead of a week. We will definitely be back.
