Great location, everything you would possibly need is in walking distance. Literally right next door there is a little grocery store that sells everything. It could stay noisy on the streets late night, however that did not bother me at all.

I stayed 4 nights in November 2019. Cheery staff, satisfactory breakfast. Well located near the river and the Old Market. But I had a big mosquito problem in my balcony second floor room -- I asked them twice to spray and it didn't help. The room safe deposit did not work -- and ticked audibly 24-hours. Around the corner, a money-changer with an 'office' near the Old Market swapped my $100 bill for a counterfeit -- which of course I didn't find out about til much later. Note, by the way, ATMs in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh (I think in all Cambodia) do not dispense local currency (Riels) but give US dollars. Everything in Cambodia is priced and sold in US dollars.

We are apologize that made you unhappy during your stay with us as the problem mentioned above. I would like to explain some problem as your complain. 1. Safe box problem: it didn't work by button click but we had provided a manual key to use for more safe to you. A manual key safe rather than button lock. 2. Mosquito in the balcony: we can spray in the room and kill it but outside the balcony we cannot spray&kill it all because many mosquito from anywhere; so we are not responsible for the mosquito out side the balcony. Our staff sprayed in the room after you went outside and they try to spray out of balcony but it's not kill the mosquito. Well, we will resolve these problem, and thank you for spending your value time to staying with us. We look forward and welcome you back to stay with us in the future again. Wish you all the best and safe trips to anywhere.

This is a great way to experience Siem Reap. The Residence is a well-furnished hotel with a friendly staff, and it is located in the heart of Siem Reap. I recommend the river view rooms.

Helpful receptionists
The location is great, plenty of restaurants around for both Cambodian and Western food. Receptionists are very helpful, they organised our transport and guide around Angkor Wat (same price if you were to do it yourself, I have checked. Also the hotel doesn't take commission from the transportation and guides, I have checked this also). The only downside is the hotel doesn't have a lift and their breakfast is limited.

Great little hotel in a perfect location
What a great little hotel. Couldn't have been happier with the location as well as our room. The staff were great and made sure everything in the room worked as soon as we checked in. The room was a great size and very clean. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This is our second stay at this hotel, great rooms, friendly, helpful staff, near the markets and great cafes especially Temple Bakery and cafe only a short walk away. No lift but only two floors and staff always carry your bags up. Highly recommend.

I decided to pick Shadow Angkor Residence based on a combination of location (5 minute walk to Pub Street), price and customer feedback. I booked on Expedia about 24 hour prior to stay, and received a follow-up email shortly after I booked. I then corresponded via email and quickly arranged to be picked up by the hotel's contracted tuk-tuk driver at the Siem Reap airport. While processing my early check-in, they asked me to be seated and provided a nice cold ice water and a scented moistened toil. I explained to the hotel in a prior email and also when I arrived that I was interested in touring Angkor Wat and other recommended sites a friend had passed along. They explained the options for Angkor Wat and beyond for Day 1 (and the 5:00 AM sunrise) and the "Grand Tour" for Day 2 and had the tuk-tuk driver arranged for me, as well as getting the Angkor Wat World pass before ticket office closing (and if it weren't for the weather, I would have also seen Angkor Wat at sunset). The room itself was as pictured in Expedia, along with fresh towels on the bed decorated beautifully with flowers and the room with a scented tea light candles. The complimentary breakfasts I had were the mango pancakes with fresh fruit, which was excellent. Internet speed was good and worked fine, as did the cable TV (CNN, CNBC, etc.) The staff was really helpful and friendly. Overall, I really enjoyed by stay at Shadow Angkor Residence, especially since all of my plans were all very last minute.

Really friendly people at the front desk. Breakfast was good. Room service was done very well. Cleanliness was maintained very well too except for the mosquitoes present at the balcony. The airport pickup was swift in a tuk tuk and the friendly driver asked a reasonable price.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful in assisting with plans to Angkor Wat and things to do in town. Also, the location in Siem Reap is excellent, and it’s easy to walk to many restaurants, markets etc. We were sad to go and would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

I should have read the reviews instead of looking only at the averages before booking this hotel. Just read one review by a person that payed US $20 a night. For that price would be amazing value for your money. I payed closer to US $60 and I believe is kind of a rip of. I been traveling Southeast Asia for 2 months and have been paying much less for much better. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is alright, breakfast is very decent, the photos are real but probably old. I think you can do much better for this price point. They sun dry the laundry so, if it rains...

Hotel is well-sited in central Siem Reap, on the river. Plenty of shops and markets/restaurants close by. I liked the big clean and modern room . An impressive feature is the amount of solid wood (teak ?) furniture and fittings (staircases) which I would not expect in an economy hotel. This is best cost-effective hotel I've experience in SE Asia. Very small negative comment - they have a small restaurant with limited (but sufficient) breakfast menu. No big deal - there are 'millyuns' of others close by !.

Room: Clean and bright with several skylights. Bathroom seemed recently remodeled. Staff: Some staff were very friendly. Perhaps they were trying to helpful by presenting tuktuk and Angkor touring options right when we checked in (before even showing us our room) but I thought that structuring the experience that way made it feel frantic and stressful.

We loved our stay in Siem Reap at this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, the area is very central close to the markets, near good cafes, the movies, massage and with a pharmacy and convenience store next door. There were a few small issues for us, none of which we gave them the chance to remedy, the phone outside our door woke us early every morning, the electric jug could not be plugged in easily as the wall socket was quite inaccessible and the jug wasn't cordless, the only other thing was the pillows, I'm sure they were the largest, hardest pillows ever made, very uncomfortable. Overall we loved the area we were in and the friendly staff. Many thanks.

Fantastic location close to pub street
I initially booked for one night and end up staying 3 nights because of the location and the staff. All are very nice specially owner and night staff.highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay near pub street.

Large family rooms in a central location
Staff are friendly and breakfast is good. However the name is always confused with two other hotels, Chateau Angkor and Shadow Angkor Villas. This becomes a big problem with tuktuk drivers as no less than 3 times were people who used this hotel as a meeting place were brought to the wrong hotels. This one is the nearest to Pub Street, so don't take tuktuks from there or nearby if you can avoid it.

This hotel is extremely well located. The room we stayed in was large, clean, quiet with a nice balcony. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay there again if we were to go back to Siem Reap. Breakfast was very good with a limited choice.

Perfect place to stay in Siem Reap Comfortable bed
Sadly we only had 3 nights at this hotel as we were there at peak times and they were fully booked for the other 4 nights we needed, I guess they're having too many good revues, it's hard to fault this hotel, the beds were super comfortable and over all our stay was excellent, the breakfast is a la carte with several choices Western and Asian, we had the croissant with scrambled egg and cheese every morning, can not begin to tell you how nice it was. We had a front facing room with balcony, which was great to sit out on and watch the local life facing the river, the only down side was the Hard Rock Cafe across the river which played loud music till after 12, but that was a small price to pay for the pleasure of staying there. Would definitely return here if coming Back to Siem Reap

wonderful boutique hotel
The staff were exceptionally friendly- they even offered us cool, moist towels and water during check-in and tea during checkout. The front desk provided excellent information about visiting the temples at Angkor, and the restaurants in the neighborhood. The room was clean and comfortable, with excellent air con, a nice bathroom, and nice furnishings. The hotel even folded our towels into lotus shapes. The neighborhood is perfect for exploring Siem Reap after a long day's site-seeing at the temples- it is less than a 5 minute walk from a night market that has restaurants with delicious food, vendors and shops selling everything from cheap tourist junk to high end art and jewelry. For any price, this hotel was great. For 35 USD per night, it was a fantastic bargain.

Everything was good, two things I will recommend is: check more Offen the emails! Because I sent an email saying I will be arriving earlier and they didn't know about it, and better wifi conection.
