"Seaview rooms offer panoramic ocean view including two of the great attractions (ie rock and cape). Surprisingly front desk rejected our requests for Sapporo bus and tour reservations or even checking the status of tour ship departures. They just focus on delivering good services within the hotel."

"It is a nice property with outstanding views of the port. The bedroom was clean, comfortable, and ample for Japan standards. The staff is courteous and the pristine shared kitchen works well. In case you aren’t driving, note that it isn’t quite walking distance from downtown. Btw the GPS took me to a wrong address, by the port; actually the hotel is at the top of the hill. I totally recommend it. "

"This hotel was amazing! It exceeded all expectations. We arrived around 5:30pm and had dinner prepared for us at 6pm, which was a delicious mix of fresh sashimi and tempura. We were then able to book the private outdoor onsen which was truly wonderful and luxurious under the stars. Our hosts were warm, friendly and professional and clearly passionate about delivering an exceptional stay for all their guests. The location itself was spectacular! Hotel Chinohate
2.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (19)
"Excellent location in the national park. Brilliant outdoor hot spring at the hotel, with some smaller ones off in the forest. Suggest going mid-week in the fall when there are fewer people. Arrange for your meals on advance with the hotel. Definitely go for the evening set meal, which is fantastic. (And they are happy to adjust for your diet.) If you are lucky, a fox will visit with you in the hotsprings. Excellent, helpful staff."
