"The hotel was a lovely place to stay for our short trip to the Izu Penninsula, it was a good base for us to explore the area although there are very limited restaurants or places of interest in the immediate vicinity apart from the beach. "I enjoyed my stay at the Shimoda Prince Hotel. If I ever go back to Shimoda I would consider staying there again. Pros: The room was big and comfortable, and based on the layout I think all rooms have a ocean view. My room had all the desired amenities, including a mini-fridge, towels, and even a rack for hanging clothes. I enjoyed the men's onsen. The breakfast buffet is good, although expensive.
