Sweet Huckleberry Cottage on Old Hatchery Lake

Come visit our sweet Huckleberry Cottage nestled in the woods on private Old Hatchery Lake, in Union, close to Hood Canal, Lake Cushman and Puget Sound. outside of Shelton, Mason co.

We have a (Dock) with (Canoe), (Row boat), (kayaks)and (Fishing poles) and life jackets (A Washington State fishing licence is required). (Clean water Swimming!!).. Full kitchen, washer Dryer and more... The drinking water is fresh and safe to drink..

There are hiking trails to view the mountain range of the Olympics and Valley of Skokomish River and Indian Reservation. And Hood Canal.. {And close to Lake Cushman,11 miles long!}
Gentle reminder: If you're wanting to bring a pet, please give us a call.

We have nearby shopping at Hunter Farms,with fresh sea food, on hwy 106, 1 mile from your cabin. And downtown Shelton. With the best fine dining or casual food restaurants. Walmart Super Store approximately miles away.

Enjoy the wildlife... Alder brook Golf Course within 10 miles. Please pickup visitors guides.

Woodsy wonderland

We had a very nice stay here. The cabin and lake were just as I’d imagined. We did not want to leave! Kayaked around the lake, cooked delicious meals in the kitchen, and hiked around the area.

We love staying at this wonderful cabin. The owner is wonderful to work with. Everything you could want in the kitchen, super comfy beds. Peaceful and quiet setting. To make things even better my spouse caught 6 trout. Very blessed to have found this cabin.

Cute Cabin on a Beautiful Lake

The cabin and lake are very nice. We enjoyed our weekend stay relaxing on the dock (when it was warm) and inside (when the weather turned cold) reading, doing one of their puzzles, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed. (Guests should note there is spotty cell service :)

Peaceful and quiet getaway!

Got this as a gift for my Mom and Dad who love to just relax at the lake, fish and troll around on the boat. They said they just loved how private and quiet it was there! Cabin was really nice and remote, has enough space to take the family. Nice lame, caught some trout and did some swimming. We will definitely be booking again!

Another July 4th here at the cabin, another great time. Gorgeous weather. Great fishing. Kayaking was so relaxing. Some cool books to read. Gorgeous flower arrangement and decor to celebrate the holiday. Just what we needed.

Great location and cabin

Our second time staying at this wonderful little cabin. Weather was great. Husband and son caught trout so fresh trout dinners...amazing. So glad to have AC as the weather was warm the first couple of days. One of the best things is that there was no wi-fi. Walks around the lake, kayak, hammock time (always travel with our hammock). Owner wonderful.

On the Lake

This property is a perfect lake get away with privacy! Adorable house with everything you need including a stunning view of the lake. Kayaks, rowboat, and canoe provided to get out on the lake. Also the lake is stocked with trout! Perfect for fishing right off the dock. The owner is very nice and very responsive. We will be back!!

Family Get away!

This property is AMAZING! Clean, cute, quiet and has everything you could need. We stayed two nights in the house and it could not have been a better stay. The home is much larger than it looks, has every thing you could need and was super clean. The lake is perfect, clean, clear and full of fish. My four year old daughter caught a trout on almost every cast! The neighbor Bob was super nice and invited us to come over to his dock so my daughter could watch him feed the fish, that was super sweet of him and she loved it. This is one of those " I gave it 5 stars cause that is the highest option" kind of places. I can not recommend this enough, its just amazing. Annette is an amazing host, and was extremely kind and gracious. The Apperson Family.

Amazing environment! This unique cabin had everything my boys and I needed for a quick, quiet getaway for fishing and spending time together. Water front dock was perfect for the kids to fish off of and they had a blast fishing and actually catching their hearts out. The second level loft beds provided plenty of space fos us all.
