We loved our stay. The woods, the beach, the driveway in…it’s all divine! The house is cozy and the bed is comfortable! We enjoyed having family out to play badminton. I highly recommend staying here. We didn’t want to leave!
Convenient home close to beautiful inlets and nature
Very nice owners and a home conveniently located to accessing the water, beaches, and tidelands nearby. Home has all the basics, including nice beds and a large TV with all the apps for movies. Coffee and wine were on the counter when we arrived, which was a lovely touch.
We stayed at this home for a month in between selling our home and buying our next one. We really enjoyed Shelton—nice people, fun restaurants.
Our host, Robert, was extremely nice and was very responsive to our questions. He also welcomed our two pets!
Robert's guest house was a great choice for our 6 weeks stay in the Olympia area. The house was comfortable, tastefully decorated and uncluttered, with tons of storage. Additional perks were the Weber grill and LG Bluetooth sound bar. The location is a lovely private setting about 15 minutes from Shelton and 30 to Olympia. We were lucky to catch the Lavender and Dahlia farms in full bloom! If well water is not to your taste, you may want to buy filtered. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Thanks for everything Robert!
Exactly as described and all information from Robert was super helpful! We had a small group of adults and really enjoyed our experience especially the beach and proximity to local seafood markets!
The location was perfect for us. It was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed walking the path down to the beach which had a beautiful view. We loved seeing the deer family in the yard.
It was awesome. Secluded yet not too far from town and my son who lives in Shelton. It was great to take a walk to the shore which was an adventure walk with blackberries and sweetpeas. The high tide and low tides were an adventure especially as it was full moon. The surprise on the last few days was the view of Mt. Rainer. Thank you Robert for a great place to stay will be telling friends about it
Stay was very good. Nice place for a dog. Quiet and clean. Only suggestions are to provide more kitchen items..I.e cheese grater, colander and cooking/salad bowls.
Had a wonderful month living right on the Puget Sound. The house had everything we needed to make it feel like home. We enjoyed seeing Mount Rainier from the backyard on clear days, going out in our kayak, and harvesting our own oysters from the beach walkable from the house. We were so sad to go and would definitely come back!
Wanted a house on the water for a few days before our Alaska cruise. The house was just what we wanted. The black berrys and hummingbird show was an unexpected bonus. The drive to the ferry was very scenic and the ferry got us within a few blocks of our ship and parking. Thank you for being a great part of our adventure.
This is information for future bookers as I didn't read the listing very carefully and came across things that were surprising to me.The upstairs bedroom has no door and thus you can hear everything that is happening downstairs. The top bunk of the bed is very hard to access as There are ceiling lights that are in the way and it is very close to the ceiling. In order to get to 1 of the rooms, you have to pass through another bedroom first.
We had a great stay, everything was as described, so nice to see the sun on the water (July visit) in the late afternoon. For us, as a getaway, it was perfect.
It was a joy to stay at this property. The driveway to the house was beautiful if a little steep. It made for a great morning hike. Very quiet and peaceful. We even had a deer visit us in the yard a few times.
Chose this property because it was a bit more remote BUT still close enough for a 1+ hour drive to the coast, national park and Seattle. Clean, well kept, plenty of room and quiet. The owner was very responsive on directions and instructions.
We had a very relaxing long weekend staying at this house. It was extremely clean and felt very comfortable. Our kids and dog especially had a great time!
The house is three bedrooms: (1) queen bed with upholstered headboard from the pictures and (2) bunk bed are on the same floor as the bathroom, each accessible down one step from the main living area. Bedroom (3) with the wood bedframe is up a flight of stairs and is the only room in the upstairs.
The beach is only accessible around low tide. At high tide the entire beach is under water. The path to the beach is very narrow and next to a step cliff - after our first visit we left our elderly dog and toddler at the house because we worried about the two of them making it down safely. The house is also next to a steep cliff, which only worried us in regards to our fearless toddler, who views running away from us towards danger as her favorite pastime.
Robert, the property owner, was very kind and welcoming. The house is also a 10ish minute drive from u-pick farms and Taylor’s Shellfish, which was the highlight of our trip. Loved our stay and would highly recommend to others!
The three-bedroom house was in great shape. Peek-a-boo views of Totten inlet from the first floor. The electronic lock was a little tricky to use and would get stuck, but always opened after various attempts. The only complaint is that it is a 20-30 minute drive to downtown Olympia.
