Other than I had to climb 92 stairs to get to my room and the shower is small I liked the place. I had a great view of the water from my room. I had breakfast and dinner included with my stay. It's easy to have them call a taxi for you. They have an airport shuttle too. Right on the beach at a very reasonable price. Everyone was nice and very helpful, I travel by myself and can run into problems. I will use Umbi again next time I'm in Sharm El Sheikh

I have been staying at Umbi since 2008 and it’s still my fav. Place in Sharm El Sheik. Authentic, low key, clean and with the most beautiful sea, corals and fishes right at your doorstep. Nevertheless it’s sad to see a massive harbor is being built and it will destroy this natural paradise! Let’s collect firms and stop it!

My first time visiting in February and it was a really comfortable temperature. The hospitality offered by this local family contrasts well with the corporate hotel culture of much of Naama Bay. I was very happy to see a responsible approach to maintaining reef health.

Arrived at 1:30pm, finished check in at 4:30pm, they changed my room, as they give my one to someone related to the owner (I had been told later), on the next day they asked me to return back my original room I booked on your site, I refused as my family and my bags settled already. As I booked 2 meals the dinner is set menu, with different menu book than other guests and with very limited variety and bad quality food (eg. Passa fish as the only kind in the set menu of all the seafood). The only good thing was the night view which made me stayed there. Adding, they said to me that it was my fault to book on line as it was double the regular price as I am Egyptian. It will never happen again.

Convenient and clean hotel in quiet bay area

I stayed in a beach cabin w/AC and private bath. Most DO NOT have views of the sea, especially as you can't even see out of the windows. BUT they are indeed very close to the beach, so loved the convenience.

Good place to have different experience

Close to soho square, nice beach with very friendly staff, only the stairs to the top of the mountain was a bit hard for me, but the experience to live by mountain opposite to the sea is worth it.

Dykning i världsklass

Ett bra ställe för den som är intresserad av dykning. Inte jättelyxigt, enkelt men relativt billigt boende. AC och tv på rummet, städning varannan dag. Fin utsikt över Shark's Bay och havet. Allt fungerade bra. Frukost inkluderad, ganska låg standard men det går att äta sig mätt, höjdpunkten var nylagad omelett. Hotellet har en restaurang med hygglig mat, öl och vin, samt två barer. Hotellet ligger ca 50 meter från stranden som bjuder på solstolar och en badbrygga som leder direkt till korallrev med mycket fisk. För den dykintresserade finns ett dykcenter i anslutning till hotellet, med dagliga dykutflykter med båt. Dykbåtarna avgår från en brygga ca 100 m från hotellet. Mycket bekvämt och fungerar bra. Dykutflykterna varar från 08.00 till 16-17.00 och går till olika ställen runt Sinai-halvön, som bjuder på några av de bästa dykplatserna i världen. Bl.a Ras Mohammed, Tiran Island och vraket SS Thistlegorm. Under ytan finns korallrev och en mängd olika djurarter, bl.a hajar, stingrays, sköldpaddor och muränor. 30 grader i vattnet och oftast mycket bra sikt. Man får 2 eller 3 dyk per utflykt. All dykutrustning finns att hyra, men det blir förstås lite billigare om man har egna prylar med sig. Sammanfattningsvis, en superb dyksemester. Det bästa jag upplevt på mycket länge, och relativt billigt. Rekommenderas främst för dykintresserade som inte dykt i Röda Havet ännu. Om man bara vill snorkla/bada lär man inte bli missnöjd heller. Have fun!

Quiet, beautiful, perfect.

I loved this place and I had a great time. I was traveling alone, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I am especially grateful to the waiter who hooked me up to his personal wifi connection after I lost my phone. And the bartender with an exuberant disposition and who taught me more Arabic and made me promise next visit we would speak only Arabic. And the night clerk, who taught me how to say "What time is it?" in Arabic after I lost my phone.(He also gave me wake up calls, one time by standing outside, looking up to my balcony and showing me on his hands what time it was, since I was already up). I loved that! And Ahmad, the trip booking agent with whom I had some great discussions and a few jokes, and the man who fashioned the blankets and towels into birds in nests and swans in ponds! They were wonderful. Oh, and the young man in the first shop, for his friendly, wonderful face and welcoming nature. The snorkeling right there was fantastic, with the most gorgeous and colorful fish. I left a pair of shoes there, so I know I'll go back. When, I don't know, but I will go back.

Das heisse Wetter trägt dazu bei, dass man sehr wenig Zeit im Hotelzimmer verbringt. Der Strand ist klein aber fein und die grossen Touristenmengen sind an anderen Stränden angesiedelt. Von daher der perfekte Ort um mal so richtig zu entspannen.

erg prettige sfeer op een perfecte plaats

als je wilt gaan duiken kun je je geen betere plek voorstellen. wil je alleen rustig op het strand chillen en snorkelen, ook dan een erg prettige plaats 'to be '. qua prijs-kwaliteits verhouding zit het hier ook goed: met een goed ontbijtbuffet, geholpen door vriendelijk personeel.

Nice place, great staff

One of the only remaining Bedouin-owned hotels in Sharm. The staff is very nice, the location isn't particularly special, but the view from the top (where you can rent huts for cheap) is beautiful, and you can take a boat for great snorkeling elsewhere.

Fall asleep to the sound of waves

We love this place - nicest place to stay in Sharm by far. Not glitzy, not noisy, right on the sea, so you go to sleep and wake up to the sound of waves. Nice food and drinks. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who wants to go to Sharm without the package experience. And it's Bedouin owned - the best!

Fantastic staff, great room, lovely beaches!

Wow, what an amazing place. The staff made our stay especially good. The beaches were great, and whats better than breakfast on the beach every morning. Our room was very comfortable with a great patio over looking the Red Sea. Afterwards, we went to Nesima in Dahab, which is owned by the same Mr Umbi and we had another amazing stay. I would recommend both Sharks Bay Umbi and Nesima in Dahab.

Beach hat with surprisingly complete service.

It was a two nights stay only. The location attracted me to stay longer. Enough beach, lots of different opportunities for relax, afine meal ... i got what i asked for. Helpful staff while organizing my further on travel. Thanks folks.

Consigliato per chi vuole stare in relax. si trova a Shark bay con altri 2 villaggi vicini. dista 15 minuti dal centro di Naama. se volete star tranquilli è ottimo, altrimenti se volete sempre movimento dovete sempre utilizzare il taxi ( non dategli piu di 5 euro per il centro di naama... contrattate su tutto ) Se andate a questo villaggio e siete italiani andate dal Dr. Houssin, parla italiano abbastanza bene. chiedete informazioni e consigli a lui... oltre che prendete il thè e gli oli che sono fantastici. Vacanza fatta tra 1 aprile e 8 aprile 2014. direi comunque fantastica. camere in ordine e pulite... zanzariere sopra il letto per la notte che consigliato visto che si posso trovarne spesso. unica pecca, wii fi solo sulla spiaggia. và bene di giorno ma di sera dovete star purtroppo li per le comunicazioni, anche se comunque ha un buon segnale e arriva fino alla tenda beduina e il ristorante. anche quelli ottimi. ricordate un po di mancia che a loro non dispiace. consigliato e ci ritornerei...

Kurzaufenthalt zur Weiterreise

Wir waren auf der Durchreise deshalb habe ich das billigste in Sharm ausgesucht. das was ich gebucht habe waren nur Hüttenohne Bad und WC, ich habe dann auf ein normales Zimmer mit Bad umgebucht das war dann ganz OK ist glaube ich gut für Taucher da die Boote direkt am Hotel ablegen.

Posto molto carino,rilassante,un Oasi in mezzo al casino di Sharm.Ideale per coppie,famiglie.Unico Neo Wi Wi non funziona.Si consiglia carta Sim Egiziana.Al diving le due ragazze potrebbero essere piu cortesi.Prezzo troppo alto per immersioni,.Istruttori Super.Si mangia bene,ospitali e gentili tutti complesso guidato da famiglia di beduini.Bravi.
