We stumbled on this property last minute for just one night. We normally book larger cabins but enjoyed the novelty of staying in this little house. Close to everything we needed to do. Bigfoot Cheesesteaks was REALLY good and less than 2 mins away. Even had a small wasp incident that was handled immediately. Would stay here again. Kids loved the hobbit inspired decor.
I just introduced my girls (20 yrs old and 11 yrs old) to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They loved it as much as I do. We visit the area yearly at Christmas time so when I came upon Mountain Shire, I knew I had to stay. There were 4 people and one Westie and we never felt cramped. Extremely good use of space, very clean and comfortable. Made a little fire with wood provided, enjoyed hot cocoa, and began the Hobbitt trilogy. Enjoyed watching nature out of the picture window. We had elf ears and took some cute pictures down in the gardens and at the hobbitt wall. Just as advertised. Conveniently located to the Parkway. Definitely would recommend Mountain Shire. The other hobbitt homes looked just as welcoming as ours. Certainly well taken care of. Spending Christmas day there was just magical.
This property was amazing! Very clean and was very unique. My family absolutely loved the hobbit themed house and property. We wished we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be returning the next time we visit this area!
My husband and I spent the weekend at the Mountain Shire for some peaceful mountain and quiet time. It was just the ticket! This little hobbit hole was adorable and we had a blast. We will come back for sure! It was near enough to the attractions without being right in our teeth and still have the quietness we wanted. Thanks Justin! :3
Everything about the house was nice except it wasn't as private as it appeared online. There are 2 other tiny houses within 20ft of either side of this one. It wasn't a deal breaker at all and in the warmer months would give you a chance to meet some people. So again it's a great little place, just be warned you can't be too loud for the sake of others.
If you’re looking to get away from the insanity of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, this is the place! Although the madness is not far away, the house feels quiet and secluded, and both a lovely beer garden and a well-rated brewery are just down the road in the opposite direction. The house itself is decorated beautifully. Despite being tiny, we counted 10 paintings of different sizes, plus lots of other artwork. It was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s part of a little community of tiny houses, each of which is distinct. Each house also has a little outdoor space with chairs, fire pits, etc. You need to be okay with climbing a narrow stairway to reach the loft, and the loft itself has limited headroom, but these are common considerations with tiny houses. We have no desire to see the craziness down the road again, but we might come back just to stay in one of these wonderful hobbit houses!
