About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Stunning Mountain Views. Minutes to Nat’l Park. Dog Friendly! Sleeps up to 8.
Private location at the end of a cul-de-sac in quiet neighborhood. Unlike many rental cabin resort areas that have cabins 'right next door' our cabin is situated on five acres, high upon stunning Cove Mountain. This means you aren't looking out onto the roofs of other cabins, nor looking to the right and left of you only to see other cabin decks/porches a few feet away. You can see other cabins at a distance, but not right on top of you. It makes you feel secluded although you are close to all of the attractions and conveniences of the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.
Our cabin is right on the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Situated in Wears Valley, TN, 10 miles from Pigeon Forge Parkway, and 14 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, this cabin is in an ideal location that many cabin and chalet rentals do not offer.
We feature the fastest internet available in the area. It's a premium business class speed, perfect for working remotely/virtual school. Safely and efficiently conduct your business and school work while enjoying the cozy comfort of the Smoky Mountains.
Our cabin is 2,400 square feet. There are three levels of living space. The main level has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and private bathroom, the living room has a gas stone fireplace and open concept kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with stainless steel appliances and cookware, and leathered granite countertops. There are stools at the kitchen island for extra seating. There is a large deck off the main living area, with plenty of rocking chairs and a porch swing to enjoy the breathtaking views. The space boasts floor to ceiling windows, which makes you feel as if you are floating in the clouds. The views are absolutely spectacular.
The upper floor is an open loft style, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light, which means amazing views from every angle. There are two queen beds on the loft level, and a full bathroom with shower.
The lower level boasts an entire wall of glass with doors to a deck. The deck features log chairs for relaxing, and a hot tub that looks out into the valley. On this level there is a full bathroom with shower, a sleeper sofa, comfy chairs, a bar height table, a pool table, and smart TV with streaming service.
Although the cabin is located high on the mountain, the roads are all well paved providing easy access. The inclines may be slightly intimidating your first time up or down the mountain, but in comparison to many mountain roads, ours is smooth and easy to navigate.
Our cabin may be somewhat secluded, but it is very convenient in that it is not too far from everything in town. There is a gas station (with basic groceries) at the foot of the mountain and a Kroger and Publix only about 10 minutes away. Being so close to the national park entrance means you can take the “scenic route” to downtown Gatlinburg, bypassing the Parkway if you so desire. You'll enter the park via Line Springs Road, through the Metcalf Bottoms entrance to the National Park. This enables you to navigate easily to downtown Gatlinburg and to Cades Cove. If you want to go to Pigeon Forge, the parkway is an approx. 10-minute drive. Shopping malls, premium outlets, restaurants, antique and craft shops, and plenty of attractions are a short drive away. If the crowded areas of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have zapped your energy, relax on the deck of Next Step Heaven, and listen to nature around you.
Many hiking trails are located near the cabin site, as well as all the National Park has to offer. Trout fishing, horse back riding, mountain biking, and white water rafting are other great adventures to seek while staying at the cabin.

Incredible stay at this cabin. Stunning views, very clean and private cabin. Owner is nice and very communicative, will def consider staying here again.
Cabin and location was perfect for our getaway. Very clean, plenty of cookware if you want to cook. Neighborhood is nice a quiet and views are Amazing.
Thanks for a great stay!!!
We really enjoyed our stay. House was clean and view was beautiful. Minor issue first night with electricity to hot tub but the owner answered right away and it was fixed the next morning. Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful and well stocked cabin. Gorgeous view. Perfect location in the Wears Valley and Minutes from the national park. We enjoyed eating in Townsend and Wears Valley.
We had the most relaxing vacation at this beautiful rental home. It is situated perfectly for easy access to the National Park and other surrounding attractions, while offering complete privacy and tranquility. Sunsets are stunning from the upper deck. The home is tastefully decorated with very cozy furniture and the kitchen supplies are beyond what most would expect from a rental property. If I could rate this place higher than a 10/10 I would do so, and assure anyone staying here that you won’t be, in any way disappointed. The home presents just as the pictures present. To make our experience even more memorable, we were lucky enough to see a bear cub scaling a rock/dirt embankment just feet from the front door. Michelle is very responsive and a pleasure to interact with and goes out of her way to ensure a perfect getaway vacation experience..
The cabin was lovely and decorated so pretty. It was nice to have the kitchen so well appointed and the view was beautiful. For us Floridians the mountains are always a bit challenging to drive but it’s nothing for others. We enjoyed the heavenly roast coffee shop nearby as a great breakfast option. Thank you for our lovely mountain getaway!
Everything about our week-long stay was perfect! Fantastic communication from the owner - efficient process, and all the info we needed to prepare for our trip. The cabin is VERY CLEAN and exactly as pictured. Beds were great, kitchen well-equipped and just an all-round fun place to stay. The sunset views are memorable. We had five adults in our party, and it was plenty big enough. Highly recommend!!
We had a great stay with family at this beautiful cabin in the heart of the Smokey Mountains. Our manager Michelle was very communicative and helpful. The amenities were top-notch, especially the kitchen cookware, utensils and appliances. My brother and I love to cook, and it was so nice to have anything/everything we needed to slice and dice some gourmet meals. We highly recommend this property and management company!
We loved our stay at Next Step Heaven and would absolutely come back. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood at the top of the mountain, the space and views were spectacular. The check in/out process was seamless and we loved being able to bring our furry family with us 🐶 The journal with entries from past renters was also a nice touch. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
Next Step Heaven was the perfect cabin for our fall getaway. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The views are amazing and with the fall color changes, it was spectacular. This was our first time staying at Next Step Heaven as all of our previous visits were at Michelle’s sister cabin nearby, A Step Above. Both are highly recommended and Michelle is as good as a host can get. We will be back!
We were so impressed with this cabin. The layout is perfect. There are common areas that are great for socializing with family and/or friends. The bedrooms and loft provide some privacy if you want some quiet time.
We brought our dogs with us. The cabin is very dog friendly. There is a set of dog bowls in the kitchen and a large crate in the basement.
I would highly recommend this cabin!!!
The place was lovely with beautiful views. The place was very clean for the most part minus the mass amounts of Asian Lady Beetles. Got used to them though and understand that it is the season for them to swarm so keep that in mind (we stayed mid- November). Just had to keep sweeping them out the door! Comfortable beds, great kitchen with everything that one could need to cook a good meal! Nice little well-kept side yard for the pup! Would stay again for sure... But definitely not during beetle season!
Very comfortable cabin with nice mountain views. Well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the covered hot tub even in the rain. It was cold so we enjoyed the fireplace. Nice grassy spot to take our dog out. The chairs and swing on the deck looked like a nice place to sit and watch the sunset but most days were too cold though we did watch from the hot tub a few times. We had one minor issue on arrival but the host responded quickly, which was much appreciated. The dog bowls were appreciated. One suggestion might be a dog bed...though probably mostly because we forgot ours!
This cabin was great. We loved the layout, the bathrooms on every level, the privacy, kitchen, living room and most of all the front porch and views. It rained one night which was also enjoyed by all with the sound of rain on a metal roof. The cabin was clean, very well stocked for just about anything you could want. The hot tub was an added bonus after doing lots of walking in PF and Gburg. We would all do this trip again and stay here without hesitation. Lots of nice touches Michelle.
Nicely furnished, clean and comfortable home. Spectacular views of the city below and mountains around. Other cabins nearby, but privacy is maintained with wooded areas between them. Pool table, hot tub and rec room were used often by our group. Plenty of games and puzzles to keep us busy on the 2 rainy days. A wonderful Thanksgiving Day Dinner was prepared, served and enjiyed by the 8 of us. Michelle was easy to connect with and extremely accommodating of our needs. A memorable trip for our family.
This was seriously the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed at! Amazingly clean and well stocked. We couldn’t find a single spec of dust. Every bedroom had its own bathroom and an extra downstairs. The hot tub was clean and well cared for. Nice towels, matching dishes, soft pillows and throws everywhere. The owner communicated very well and was so responsive. Reasonable policies and check out procedures. We ate at the Sloppy Hog in town, amazing views and excellent burgers and onion rings. The coffee shop next door is also great. Thank you for making our mountain getaway perfect!
Everything in the description is 100% accurate and the view from the porch is indescribable. I like to take pictures and the mountain views were spectacular. I was also able to take astrophotography shots as well at night and captured the stars and a little bit of the milky way. We never wanted to turn on the TV as we fully enjoyed the area, whether the Smoky Mountains or the tourist areas we returned to the cabin for the promised peace, quiet and views. We are going to try and come back and will look to stay here again.
Our family just returned from an amazing vacation in the Smoky Mountains, and this VRBO rental was the perfect home base. The location was fantastic, offering stunning views and easy access to hiking trails and attractions.
The highlight of the property was definitely the deck, where we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets every evening. The game room was a hit with the kids (and adults!) - we loved having a space to unwind and have fun together after a day of exploring.
The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a family vacation. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking meals, and the bedrooms were spacious and cozy.
Overall, we had an incredible experience and would highly recommend this VRBO rental to anyone looking for a memorable Smoky Mountain getaway!
We found this home on a whim and decided to take our kids to the mountains for their summer vacation. We didn’t know what to expect but this exceeded all of our expectations! The beds are comfortable, the home is beautiful, the pool table & hot tub were a blast, and we had the most beautiful view at sunset every night. We loved our visit and would recommend this home for your stay! It’s close to all the touristy items and also close to the National Park. My husband even got to hike at a trail near by and got to see a black bear, which is all he wanted to see this trip!! We felt very safe in the home! The home owner was quick to respond to a couple questions we had during the trip and very helpful! 10/10 would recommend.
We had such an amazing vacation and the stay at Next Step Heaven was a big reason why! The cabin was so clean, cozy and secluded! Very well stocked, especially the kitchen! The view was amazing and the sunsets were picture perfect. Michelle is so easy to communicate with and was quick to answer any questions we had. The game room and hot tub were very much enjoyed, especially on the rainy days! This was our first visit to TN and we plan to return. We will absolutely be staying in one of Michelle's cabins again!
