Very easy check in process. We loved the property and the location. It was an amazing trip and 6 days was not enough. It was a great extra touch having a Christmas Tree with lights. Our 2 small dogs loved it as well. The hot tub on the porch was super clean and in great shape, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was properly stocked and maintained. Everything was clean and amazing.
The location was very quiet and relaxing. The decor was rustic and "beary" cozy. The cabin was very clean and as described. The amenities provided were more than enough. The hosts, Gary and Joan, left a nice book on places to eat and other information. They were very quick to respond to any messages. Very nice place to stay.
Great house for 2 couples and our dog! Hot tub was a plus! Neighborhood was quite and easy to navigate. Good roads considering you are in the mountains.
We enjoyed the back screened in deck. Felt like we were in the top of the trees. Very comfortable furniture and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed using the grill location at the end of the driveway. After cooking our steaks it must have enticed the bear to pay us a visit. It was very cool to see the little black bear snooping beside of the house. Definitely topped off our long weekend.
My family and I stayed here during Christmas week and had a wonderful experience. The space was cozy, clean, and comfortably accommodated our family of six along with our two dogs. I especially appreciated the cleanliness and the charming decor. The only drawback was the driveway, which could use some improvement—my car nearly got stuck on the gravel. Aside from that, I would definitely recommend this place!
The chalet was perfect in every way for us! The kitchen was great. Lots of counter space to prepare and cook meals when you eat-in, which we do often. Ample pots and pans, dishes, etc. We also loved the chalet's floorplan with two bedrooms/w bathrooms located on either side of a beautiful great room. The king-sized beds were super comfy, too. The great room has two sofas, a beautiful stone fireplace and a big TV...everything you need for watching sports or movies. Attached to the great room is a lovely screened-in porch (and hot tub). The porch was perfect for sitting and sipping morning coffee, eating our meals or just relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature. The drive from the community security gate to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg (for restaurants/activities) is only about 10 to 15 minutes. This was hands-down one of the most restful and relaxing vacations we have ever had.
Decor was adorable. Property is well kept. Loved looking down into the woods to search for bears. 🐻 Did not get to see any which was a bummer. We did see some bear prints on the grill cover though which was exciting.
Overall we enjoyed our time here 😊
The property was pretty and very clean! Owners answered when we called and were very nice!! The beds were comfy and the fireplace was beautiful!
The only thing was the roads! We were unprepared for how the roads are. We've never been there before so we had no idea! It was scary for sure!!
Although not long enough, our weekend was filled with relaxation, fun and beautiful scenes. Visiting Pigeon Forge has always been a good time for us, with the food selection, scenery, shops and attractions. This time was not an exception. Choosing this cabin and with the help of our hosts we again enjoyed another Pigeon Forge weekend. Our best memory was the bear sighting just rightout the cabin door! The cabin was relaxing, cozy and very well kept. Enough room to where our entire family was confortable. Thanks again for hosting!
The location is up pretty high in the mountains, but the drive is very nice. Very clean, neat and inviting. We didn't have a single issue from booking to checkout. The Shagbark Community has a lot to offer. The pool, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball court and cornhole are all in one place. The community center building has a shower and restrooms for changing. Very convenient. Security was top notch as well. We hope to stay again next year. Thank you!
The cabin itself was lovely, just as cute as in the photos. It was well appointed, comfortable, and spacious. The drive up and the driveway were terrible. As someone who is not great at backing out of a tricky driveway this would have been a deal breaker. There is no place to just sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. The biggest challenge was there being so little green space for the dog to go out. While walking along the driveway a rattlesnake popped out of a burrow by the logs that line the drive. We did not see any bears!
I found this cabin to be the most thoughtfully stocked cabin of all the ones I’ve stayed in. The owners truly anticipated the needs of their guests! From a fully stocked kitchen, including a crockpot to scissors and flashlights, this place really had everything you could need for a short stay. If you’re reading this & think you would never need a flashlight or scissors…Think again! I’ve started packing both when I travel!
The king size bed I slept in, was more comfortable than my bed at home. The couches were not super comfy, but I think they were hide a beds so that’s to be expected. The TV in the living room is fantastic but I did have a little trouble figuring out the one in the bedroom that I used. The hot tub on the screened-in porch was amazing! It was clean, easy to use, and in the best location - I used it one afternoon and enjoyed being out on the porch in complete privacy surrounded by beautiful leaves on the trees.
A few reviewers mentioned the driveway. The road up to the cabin and the driveway are not for amateurs but once you tackle them once or twice, they really are not that big of a deal.
My only negative feedback was that the cabin could’ve been cleaned a little bit better. That unfortunately was out of the control of the owners. I know they rely on a cleaning company to do a better job than was done before I arrived. I shared my specific feedback with the owners. I would imagine this was a one time problem.
Beautiful property and home!! It definitely gave that "cabin in the woods" feel that we were looking for! The host was very prompt with all responses and gave great directions! We loved that the hot tub was in an enclosed screen room which gave the feel of being outdoors without hassle of bugs or rain.
