Beautiful new cabin with all the amenities needed for a great stay. Highly recommend. We had an amazing time celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday with our kids.
Love the quiet location of the cabin. Very nice and spacious, and decorated very nicely. We used the outdoor fireplace every night. Owners are quick to respond and pleasant to deal with.
Absolutely amazing cabin! Everything was perfect. Great amenities! Clean and very well maintained. It sits up in the mountains with great views! The owners were awesome and very helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend this cabin!
The cabin was very clean and new! Fabulous views and was very peaceful and private for our trip. It had everything we needed for our spring break trip. Close to Pigeon Forge. We loved all the entertainment spaces and we enjoyed sitting on the expansive deck in the evenings.
My family and I needed a home away from home as we had plans to do an overnight stay at Mt. LeConte. Bear Down Hideaway was perfect for us. We had ten in our party and all fit very comfortably. The cabin was very easy to get to and felt secluded and private. The large kitchen counter made it easy to serve meals to our large party. Multiple televisions enabled some to watch football as others chose to watch movies. Our return hike from LeConte poured rain so we were all very grateful for the four showers as we all rushed to clean up and get warm. The hot tub was especially nice to soothe our worn muscles after ascending and then descending close to 4000ft. I definitely recommend and would return again to Bear Down Hideaway for another relaxing and cozy stay in the mountains. I hope others enjoy it as much as we did.
Even better than the photos — perfect mountain escape!
Bear Down Hideaway exceeded all our expectations. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, even more impressive in person. We loved having three separate living rooms to spread out and relax, and the kids had a blast playing games and Shuffleboard. It looks like they’re adding a cutting-edge Omni One VR system, which is such a cool addition! The setting is peaceful and secluded with lovely views, yet it’s just a short drive to Pigeon Forge and the Wears Valley entrance to the national park — super convenient for exploring the Smokies. The kids couldn’t get enough of the queen bunk beds and hot tub, and we spent every evening dining outside and enjoying the outdoor fireplace. We also really appreciated the 8 TVs throughout the cabin — especially the 85” screen in the theater room, which made for some amazing movie nights. This cabin truly has everything. We can’t wait to return!
The cabin is as beautiful, clean and well cared for as in the photos! Ryan kept in touch with us and was easily reachable for any questions. Located in a beautiful area, easy to get to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Dollywood. There were six of us, with room for at least six more in this spacious, well appointed cabin. Loved all the games and fun things to do in the cabin! Huge outdoor decks for relaxing.
We absolutely loved this cabin! It is ideal for large groups and with each room being an en-suite it made it private for everyone; it is packed with entertainment also. I highly recommend this house if you want to immerse yourself in the woods for relaxation and the sounds of the wilderness, although Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are just a very short drive away for entertainment. You cannot go wrong with the location of this cabin.
We could stay forever at Bear Down Hideaway! Perfectly nestled on a private wooded mountain side among gorgeous fall colored trees. Cleanliness was impeccable, kitchen set up provided everything we needed for a family of 10, hot tub/spa worked beautifully, VR gaming system huge hit with young adults, outdoor fireplace perfect for smores, interior living room and fireplace cozy for family game night and bedrooms/baths super accommodating for our entire family including our two grandmothers on the main floor! Our younger female adults had the entire loft/bedroom upstairs and young men hung out in the two game rooms downstairs. Our family is committed to visiting again and again... do not pass this one up! It is a winding drive up and if traveling in snow - please have 4 wheel drive for vehicles, it's worth it!

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Upon arrival, the cleaner was still present, had to leave, then come back later that night as the hot tub was not clean and available for use the first night, offered a 65 refund. The place was not thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests. There was hair in upstairs bed, the carpet downstairs in living room was dirty. When the cleaner came to empty hot tub she used her mouth to cyphen the water out of the hot tub, coughed and choked. It was unhygienic, there was hair in the bottom of the hot tub and stuff floating on top. It does say it is changed between guests. It in fact was not. Bathtub on main level did not stop up and the shower floors are very slick. The host asked us to take pictures of the mess upon arriving. Not our job. We came for vacation, not to clean after previous guests which we ended up doing anyways as the inside was not addressed further after complaint of uncleanliness. For the price, I do expect it to be pristine. The electronic door was not working and I replaced batteries, and it worked sometimes. Majority of the doors inside do not lock. The pictures are deceiving. There is no view of the mountains. Just trees and a house under construction and a road. The house in general is beautiful. The Lower level movie area is nice. However. It does sleep 12, and there is not enough sitting room in that space. The beds are very very firm. Like sleeping on the floor. Could use a tv outside, enjoyed the fireplace.
