About this property
Pet-friendly Cabin in the Hills! WiFi + Near TOWN!
** Pet-friendly! (DOGS ONLY). Bring up to 2 dogs with you during your stay. Dogs must be kept with you or in a kennel when you leave the cabin. No additional fee for your furry friend. **
No matter if you're looking for a romantic getaway or a quick weekend away with the family, Lazy Bear Lodge (sleeps 4) is the perfect Smoky Mountain cabin for your vacation.
Located just outside of town on the edge of Wears Valley, Lazy Bear Lodge is a short 10 or 15 minute drive from the action of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, but still far enough away to actually FEEL the comforting call of the mountains.
And talk about mountains! The cabin is located near the top of a windy road in a quiet little cul de sac. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park lies literally in the back yard, jutting up majestically from the back porch. And from the wooden rocking chairs on the front porch, you can gaze through the trees and into Wears Valley in the distance.
The cabin itself is appointed just as you'd hope and although it's small in size, it's filled with charm. As you walk into the front door, you're greeted by a soaring 15' ceiling. A sleeper sofa and leather chair face a wood burning fireplace, giving the perfect place to get cozy on a chilly night. (Be sure to pick up some wood on the drive in if you want to use it!) The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need - Keurig and a coffee maker, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, blender, crock pot, microwave, iron and board, washer and dryer. Just bring any food you want and you're all set.
There is a Roku HD TV so you can bring any of your streaming accounts from home. (If you don't have any, just reach out and I can get you set up) There is also a small library of DVDs in case nothing is on! Feel free to use the XBOX 360 with two controllers and games if you want your video game fix while on vacation.
The bedroom features a king bed and extra comfy mattress, which is perfect for getting a great night of sleep. And the bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and unique waterfall bathtub spout and tree shower head which gives a great country quirky feel.
On the outside, be sure to take advantage of the charcoal BBQ grill when you're ready to cook up some tasty dinner as well. Best of all, there are plenty of chairs on both the front and back porches so you can take in nature - the birds chirping in the mornings, the wind rustling through the trees, or maybe a fox or bear walking by (if you're lucky!).
When you're done relaxing in the hills, the entire area is chock full of things to see and do. Head to Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a long hike and your eyes peeled for wildflowers, white-tailed deer and 60+ species of birds that are there year round. If it happens to be rainy, climb into your car and take a drive through the park for glimpses of historic buildings dating back to the 1800s. In either case, pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!
Dollywood is the beating heart in the area and has something for all ages, whether it be amusement park rides or fun live entertainment. Gatlinburg Golf Course is there if you have a desire to get in a few holes... But most don't know that there is a Harrah's Casino a short drive away in Cherokee, NC. And of course you can ski at Ober in Gatlinburg as well as Cataloochee Ski Area in North Carolina if you want to get some half decent shredding action.
For a couple seeking a relaxing retreat or a small family looking for a getaway, there's no better place than here in the Smoky Mountains. Don't miss out on Lazy Bear Lodge - book your stay today!

We enjoyed our stay very much and we would definitely stay again. The cabin was very clean and the host responded quickly to all questions that we had during the stay.
We had a great stay at this cabin. Enjoyed the quiet and the wildlife. We saw bears while we were leaving and it was the coolest thing. The cabin was clean and the hot tub was great at the end of a long day hiking in the Smoky Mountains.
Me and my boyfriend took our dogs here and stayed for four nights. It was great for the dogs, nice little kitchen, and everything was pretty clean!! We seen bears on multiple occasions, which was a cool experience!! If we needed anything they had numbers to call which was helpful. Highly recommend!!
The cabin was gorgeous! Clean and well kept, we were accommodated with everything we needed for an extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay and the host was great with communication. We will definitely be back again soon!
Definitely a nice cabin and eas very clean. The fact that allow fur babies is also great. My wife thougt this was to far from pigeon fordge but really it is not bad at all. We liked that it is kind of in the middle between Townsend and pigeon forge.
We had a great stay here over spring break. We were greeted by the neighborhood bear who watched me unload the car and then tried to get in it while I was in the house. The location was perfect for us, far enough from pigeon forge to get out of the crowd but just a short drive away when we did want to do the touristy things. There was also a great little coffee shop just down the road. There was also a neat little bar between there and pigeon forge with gem mining for the kids and a great waterfall view.
Great location for some privacy close to the national park. Still conveniently located to get to multiple parts of the park, food and shopping options, as well as Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We were very comfortable and greatly enjoyed our stay!
The cabin was very cozy and we loved being able to take our dogs. we even got to see a couple visitors to black bears. it was overall a great experience
This cabin was absolutely perfect for a mountain get away! Our favorite part was the fire place as well as the gorgeous views from the porch. Only thing to note is the roadway up to the cabin is very steep and windy. If you are not use to mountain road driving, prepare yourself because the drive is ABSOLUTELY worth it! Will definitely book again when in the area!
Great cabin, perfect for just my wife and I. I was pleasantly surprised by the location, far enough off the beaten path, but not to far from all the other things to do, especially getting into the park. Would definitely do it again.
This cabin is beautiful inside and out. It's in a quiet, wooded area with just a few other cabins around at the end of a fairly long road, so there's no traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are planning to return again.
Quaint, relaxing cabin. Great for a getaway. Everything was comfortable and well equipped. Interesting shower. We should plan to stay longer on next trip.
We loved the cabin. We had a great retreat between family events. Our first visit to the smokies and definitely not the last. We love the hot tub, indoor and out. We saw a lazy bear!
This is our second time staying here. It’s the perfect location for those wanting to hike in the Smoky’s. Very easy and quick access to the park without having to drive through the congested Gatlinburg. Another great visit, we’ll definitely be back again!
I had never been to the area before and I wanted a space for me and my two pups to really enjoy. Although we only spent one night, I absolutely loved it. Everything was so clean and just gorgeous. I fully intend on coming back, and definitely for a longer stay!
Loved the location at the end of a cul-de-sac. Very peaceful and quiet. Backed to Smokey Mountain National Park with no neighbors behind you. Cabin was clean and had basic supplies and amenities. Communication and check-in was easy. We would love to go back again. Easy short drive to the park. Bed was comfortable.
Great property, very clean, peaceful and serene. The pics you see online is exactly what it looks like. The bed was super comfortable. We saw 3 bears playing behind our cabin and they came up on the back porch. If you go in the winter though i highly highly recommend a 4wd only or you want be able to get back down if it snows. We stayed during the winter storm jan 2025 and if we didn't have a 4wd we would had been stuck up there. And you have great views.
Cozy and well-equipped cabin with an extremely comfortable king size bed. We brought our dog who was right at home, although a bit traumatized by a mama bear who appeared 10 feet from the front door as we started a walk. We decided to forgo any more walks and found dog parks instead. Justin was great at communicating with us.
We had a great stay. The place was very clean but you need more forks and towels. One towel set per person for four night stay does not work well. It was fine since we brought some towels ourself but one more big towel would have been great. We only had two forks but we made it work. We would stay here again. It was in a great location. We hiked all day and sat in the hot tub every night. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Very welcoming, cozy and relaxing vibes all around. The hot tub was great and just what the doctor ordered to relax even more. Centrally located to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Very quiet. Leaving for a show in Pigeon Forge at 11:30 am on Thursday morning. Had just backed out of the parking space and looked up to see Momma Bear and 5 cubs just ambling down the street. We were very cautious and watched as they strolled to our neighbor’s back porch and sat for a brief time while Momma groomed the cubs. The sighting made a great time even better. We would highly recommend for a stay and we intend to return.
Overall, our stay was great.
The property was clean, check in was easy, and the bed was comfortable. We had an issue with the water our first day there but Justin was quick to respond and solve the issue (the HOA replacing a water filter at the time)
We saw a lot of bears- 17 to be exact. (14 of them were right at the property)
They were cool to see, but my car was broken into twice by the bears and we were left with some damage on my jeep. Of course we know that’s not Justin’s fault, it’s the area and the bears are to be expected in the smoky mountains.
Bear spray at the property would probably be a good idea.
Everything else was great and we enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I stayed with our dog, and the home was great. The bed was comfortable (this is huge!), and we had everything we needed. We had one hiccup, contacted Justin, and problem resolved! Happy with the prompt response. This location is close to the Park without going into Gatlinburg and the masses of people, but should you want Gatlinburg it's close and easy to get to. While the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, knives etc. there were no additional amenities - salt, pepper, storage bags, etc. so be sure to bring your own (we always do!) WiFi connection was solid. And the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there is no thru traffic and things are quiet. We enjoyed our stay!
