The cabin was nice and clean. The view was trees and other cabins. The hot tub was nice clean and hot. The host Brendan was great!! Since it was warm in the day and cooler at night, I asked if he could have it on cool in the day and switch to heat. He was so accommodating! We appreciated that so much. I would highly recommend renting from him.
The General Store Cabin was perfect. The drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg was quick and easy. The view of the mountains was beautiful, especially the sunrise over the mountains. The cabin was clean with a well stocked kitchen.
Owners were absolutely wonderful, accommodating and responsive with any requests we had.
Cabin was BEAUTIFUL, beds were very comfortable, hot tub was perfect after hiking and walking soo much!
We even had a few visits from the the local bears!
Can not wait to return to the General Store in the very new future!!
This property was just what we needed for a relaxing weekend get a way. It was well stocked, clean, and well taken care of. The rain on the tin roof was the icing on the cake. Will definitely be back and I will recommend this property to all.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the General store! Cozy cabin with a great location to restaurants & the strip. Great view of the mountains & we got to see them snow covered. Ideal cabin for 2 couples, each having their own private suite as pictured. Owner was great & responded within 30 minutes. I would recommend this cabin.
This property was very clean and well equipped with everything needed for a long weekend. Both fireplaces and hot tub were great on the cooler nights. Brendan was super responsive and very helpful whenever we needed him. The location is 10 mins from the main strip which includes groceries as well as lots of activities. We loved it 💛 and would
definitely recommend staying here.
My husband and I stayed in this cozy cabin for a long weekend. It was perfection! The fishing pond is a less than 5 minute drive and we did a lot of fishing and lounging in the cabin. The hot tub was delightful, very private and clean. The screened in porch is free of bugs and the grill is very nice. The owners communicate great via email/app. They were very kind and gave helpful advice of where to visit. The mattresses are comfortable and the rooms are cozy.
We enjoyed this peaceful cabin in the woods. The deck with rocking chair views was our favorite spot. Once or twice a car drove past, but otherwise it was quiet up on the mountain on this dead end circle. I would have preferred a place with a little property around it, as up on the mountain there was nowhere to hike or stroll around. The King size bed was comfy and the A/C worked really well. Hosts communicated well. Good value. Recommend.
The cabin sits atop the crest of a mountain among many hardwood trees so you feel as though you are in a treehouse. The view of tree canopies surrounds you! You will also get a nice seasonal view of the mountain range from the open deck. The exterior and interior of the cabin are well maintained and appear exactly as advertised. It has the perfect layout for two couples with plenty of privacy and each bedroom with an adjoining master bath. The location is ideal which provides a quiet retreat, but close enough to town for daily excursions. The owners are superb to deal with and very prompt to answer any questions. We would highly recommend this cabin to couples and families looking for a clean, quiet cabin with plenty of activities close by.
A perfect getaway for us with another couple. 2 ample private king suites with private baths. A big plus for 2 couples. A great location and close to all the bigs. Clingmans Dome, Cade’s Cove’ Gatlinburg, and laurel falls. 10 minutes from Pigeon Forge and all the shows. Easy checkin with the vrbo app and getting the lock combo the day before. Really nice views and quiet. We did miss the color season a little but I guess 3rd week of October would be better next time. Cabin was well appointed with great 3 sided decks. Owner always replied to my emails within 60 seconds so very prompt.
We cannot say enough good things about our stay at The General Store cabin. We were looking for a quite and peaceful place to stay and we got it. There are other cabins around, but not on top of each other.
Brendan and Lisa are the perfect hosts. You can tell they take pride in their property from the ease of communication, the cleanliness and the beautiful decorations. Check out the general store shadow box, it is really something. They even checked on us while we were there! We have never had an owner do that in all the years we have been coming to the area.
As I mentioned, we wanted to relax. The bed is made for just that. We slept so well. The pillows are like laying your head on a cloud. I liked thrnm so much, I took a picture so I could buy my own when we got home!
Book this cabin, you won't be disappointed! Thank you Brendan and Lisa for making our trip so nice!
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The accommodations are nice. The disappointing parts were..... We fully expected a Mountain View. It was advertised as such. That was one top thing we were looking forward to.... lounging on the decks with beautiful vistas. There are no visits except one tiny spec view through the very thick and much trees. Looking back at the listing the photos were done with no leaves on teees or some years back. As the trees are currently full canopy’s blocking any view. We did enjoy the sounds of the birds hidden in the thick tree canopies.
Another disappointment was the hot tub. Although it was not awful. It was hard to get comfortable as all of the head rest are missing for every seat or lounge. There is actually metal snaps that hit your head if you lay it back to relax. Kinda takes the comfort out of the whole experience.
The bed was comfortable and bedrooms nice size. It would be nice to have a sitting chair in each room to get away from the main room and read or relax. Maybe remove a dresser and add this?
The living room furniture comfortably seats three. Our 4th person sat on the steps to the upstairs or on a hard dining chair. Definitely needs a 2nd comfortable chair.
Lastly the driveway to the house is insanely steep. No mention of that in the rental information at all.
The grill was totally covered in thick buildup of dust and such. Hadn’t been used or wiped down in some time for sure. The cabinet above the stove was in need of a good cleaning. Grease covered and dirty. We wiped it down and the towel turned black.
In spite of the above, we enjoyed our time in the area and plan to return to Tennessee for more exploring..
Enjoyed our stay in this peaceful mountain cabin. It provides beautiful fall views. This is a perfect spot for two couples to stay because of the two master suites., allowing privacy for each. The owners were very accommodating as well.
My cousin and I met up for a weekend of fun and relaxation. The General Store cabin was the perfect retreat. We plenty of room and loved the amenities and proximity to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. 10/10!
The house was quaint and equipped with everything you need for a long or short stay. Towels, toiletries and more which was a pleasant surprise. The location was in a lovely quiet hillside community with a view of the mountains. I am sure during the fall/winter the view is even more spectacular with a few trees out of view. Brendan and Lisa were wonderfully responsive - provided suggestions on places to visit - eat and more. We took their advice and enjoyed lunch at the Local Goat and it was amazing a for sure try. The initial welcome email had all the information needed for the home which again was above and beyond. We grilled out 2 nights which was really lovely - the un-covered deck was our place every morning and night. We got to enjoy a close personal visit from a mother bear and her three cubs just steps from our cabin. Sadly neighbors left trash out which attracted them so keep trash in doors. But it was a great experience. We hiked to grotto falls and big creek trail-midnight hole both were just majestically. Our first visit to TN and it was WONDERFUL. Thank you
