Catch & Release observes all protocols according to TN state and local laws and Federal directives regarding cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and disinfectant guidelines. We use EPA-registered household disinfectants that ensure every guest is protected.
CATCH & RELEASE is located on 4 SECLUDED, CREEKSIDE, WOODED acres in the Shagbark gated community. We are three minutes from our clubhouse, swimming pool and tennis court. This cabin has WIRELESS HIGH-SPEED INTERNET, 2 gas fireplaces, 2 KING bedrooms each with TV & DVD and separate receivers, 1 QUEEN bedroom with private bath, and updated bathrooms. All linens are provided and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking family meals. The loft has a POOL TABLE, which has views of the flat-screen TV in the living room and the pond. There is a good selection of board games; Checkers, Chess, Apples to Apples, and Backgammon for those rainy days or fun nights. We have a 40 DVD movie collection for those days our guests want to just hang out at Catch & Release. We will be adding to it each season. We added a whole house Generac Generator for those storms that take down trees. You will always have power!
The dramatic 30’ vaulted rock fireplace wall has a 42' FLAT SCREEN TV with SURROUND SOUND and DVD. The new THEATER/FAMILY/GAME room has a 48” FLAT SCREEN TV and DVD, bamboo hardwood floors, Foosball & Checker tables, glass walls looking into the fishing pond and the backyard creek, and all leather furniture. The 5-ton zoned Air Conditioning and Heating system is energy efficient and meets government specifications for GREEN buildings. Our new bathroom products are from Concept Amenities, an Australian soap company whose soaps are in 5-star European hotels. The bath gel, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are biodegradable and environmentally sensitive. We love our environment and know that you do too. This is why you vacation in the Smoky Mountains.
The backyard creek runs under the house into a large FISHING POND in the front yard, which has Goldfish, We had Catfish and Brim but heavy rains washed them over the small dam. We applied to restock the pond. You can fish from the front deck in the pond, The goldfish love the kids and the kids love the goldfish. Please bring your fishing poles. We request that you CATCH & RELEASE ONLY.
The pond fountain automatically turns on to enjoy your morning coffee and turns off in the evening. It is off in the winter months. The CREEKSIDE HOT TUB is in the moss-covered backyard and in an enclosed porch in case of rain. The Hot Tub is emptied and refilled before each guest's arrival per the Tennessee Department of Health Regulations. This is the most peaceful vacation home you will ever visit. It is tucked amongst the trees and early in the morning, WILD TURKEYS come to drink at the edge of the pond, and the occasional bear drifts by to bathe with her cubs.
There are new bamboo floors, slate countertops, appliances, area carpets, a washer-dryer, and amazing landscaping in the front yard with a dry creek bed in stone, large boulders, and a RESIDENT TURTLE. THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILIES. KIDS LOVE IT!!!

Wonderful location and excellent accommodations highly recommend this place ! We love Tennessee and always visit and this is by far our new favorite vacation spot
We truly enjoyed our stay here. It was a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the area. Location was perfect. My husband and youngest child enjoyed fishing so much. Would stay here again!!
Very clean! Bedding was super comfortable! Kids had fun catching the goldfish. They also got good at playing pool and checkers during our stay. The hot tub was a great way to end every night!
We had a great time at catch and release! It is very cozy and has all the amenities you would need. We had a great time fishing the pond. The host was easy to communicate with and we would love to come back.
Beautiful house tucked back in the mountain, very private, very beautiful property, had some trouble checking in due to cell phone service but Sandra was so helpful and got us right in! Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded getaway.
We had an amazing time at this rental. The house was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the steam and the relaxing on the front porch watching the water. Such an amazing vacation for our family.
We highly recommend Catch and Release. The home is comfortable, nicely furnished and very clean. It sits on a naturally beautiful lot. All communications with the owner and property manager were pleasant and prompt.
This was our 7th trip to the area. We absolutely love TN, however Catch and Release was such a great great away like no other. We felt like we were in our own private oasis.
My husband and I stayed here with our two boys. Our boys absolutely loved the pond and had so much fun exploring the area. Beautiful home in a quiet secluded area. Will definitely cosider staying again!
We had a family vacation here. Excellent communication with renter. Scenery was beautiful. Saw a bear walking in the woods behind the hot tub enclosure. Highly recommend!! Would stay here again
This home is immaculately taken care of! Sandra was great to work with and the home was so comfortable for my family of four. The house is set up really nicely and it was really clean. If you're looking for a quiet home away from the crazy of the Pigeon Forge strip, but still close enough to enjoy everything Pigeon Forge has to offer, this is your place!
Probably the only house in Shagbark with a nice flat yard, house was clean and comfortable, the one improvement needed is a metal trash cage as the bears and raccoons have torn up the wooden one, hope to stay again.
My wife and I go somewhere new every wedding anniversary and this getaway was just as exciting as all others. From the beautiful setting to the ease of getting around to all attractions , this place is tops. My wife and I enjoyed feeding the fish and sitting every night on the back porch ( I greatly appreciated the hot tub). When visiting the area , I highly recommend that this is the place to stay.

The property is as described, quiet, and secluded. The pool table was definitely an added bonus for my husband and my daughter. Sandra was on top of everything with communication and information! The house is the perfect distance from everything especially if you don't like to be right in the middle of Pigeon Forge and all the people and traffic. Definitely a great vacation and highly recommend this house.
We had a relaxing and fun stay in the Smoky Mountains thanks to this beautiful home! We saw bears on the hill and an owl came down to fish with my husband. We saw a raccoon, snakes, turkeys and the kids caught a ton of fish. My teens loved the busy areas of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Everything about the house was perfect. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for renting out your vacation home.
Our stay at Catch and Release was brief, but memorable. The first evening we were there, we were greeted by a black bear walking through the back yard, side of the house and our the front driveway.
The home is comfortable and we will be considering a return next year! Thank you Sandra for allowing us to make memories in your home!
We had a REALLY great time!! We enjoyed playing games, the hot tub and walk in the woods. It was very enchanting!! The place was very big and would be wonderful for a big group. It was very nice and clean. The gold fish were very pretty. However, it is definitely nothing that we would fish for to "catch and release" as we enjoyed sitting on the porch watching them. (That is why I put 3 stars for the "Accuracy of online listing". EVERYTHING was absolutely amazing!!!Thank you for letting us stay there!
Our trip was a rushed trip for a dance competition. We arrived around midnight and took the wrong entrance to the loop so the house was a little difficult to find the first time. The house was very nice and clean. We didn’t have time to really get to enjoy the pond or to just it and relax. We would definitely consider staying here again when we have more time to just relax.
Great property and location!!! Easy to get to also. The only issue is that the toilet cubby on the 1st floor bathroom is a little tight if your a bigger person. They also don't leave enough toilet paper. But other than that it’s a beautiful place to stay!!! Had a great time!!!
This was one of the BEST experiences I have ever had with a rental home. It was spacious, clean, and so peaceful. The rooms were all so homey and comfortable. My children and husband and I couldn't have found a more enjoyable home to stay in for the last 3 nights - we were able to see wildlife, fish in the little pond, and enjoy the calmness and serenity that nature provided. To get to town was about 15 minutes, but the beauty of the drive didn't bother us a bit. Communication with the owner was so easy and clear - I highly recommend and would definitely book again!
To not have a mountain view, this home is soo peaceful. When you step out back between the V shape of the mountain valley. You feel like you become one with the trees. Not to mention the beautiful pond out front, we have stayed here 2 times already. And plan to return.. the Black bear visits the pond early in the morning.
It is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely stay there again for sure. The location is private and perfectly beautiful. The only thing I had a problem with was the coffee pot…it was severely dirty and leaked. We ended up buying one to use while we were there. I did send pictures of it to the manager Sandra Gunn so she could see it. It isn’t at fault of her, we just thought she needed to see it and hopefully get a new one in its place.
We would definitely stay again for sure.
We absolutely loved our vacation to Pigeon Forge. Catch and Release made it so much better. We loved the privacy and seclusion. It is in a prime location between the tourist stuff and nature. It made access to the Smoky Mountains and Dollywood so easy. We travelled with three kids and this house was just as perfect for them as it was for mom and dad! We enjoyed our time catching fish and relaxing in the hot tub. We had lots of bears the one morning which added to the excitement. As an allergy mama I can appreciate the very clean enviroment as well! No stuffy noses or itching. Thank Catch and Release for complimenting our wonderful family vacation.
