Had to clean it ourselves before we settled in.
We arrived later in the evening to the cabin. When we arrived, the cabin smelled dirty and musty as if it had been locked up all season, which is understandable if it were clean. The bottom floor bedroom smelled like a mix of water-logged carpet, smoke and must - no one was able to sleep in that room so we had to have the kids share beds to accommodate our number of guests with one bed down. There was dog food under the couches and table, along with dog hair on the suede couches - we paid to board our dogs and did not bring them with. There were sprinkles, crumbs and sticky mess on the dining room table. Food was splattered along the wall were I can assume the trash can sat. The floors and steps were dusty, dirty and sticky. We left the cabin to buy cleaning supplies at the Dollar General before they closed at 10pm because there was not even a sufficient mop in the cabin to clean up ourselves. We spent an unacceptable amount of time cleaning the toilets, downstairs floors, kitchen counters, tables, bathroom counters and the dog hair off the couches before we even settled in. The hot tub was on when we arrived, but the water was super cloudy, did not smell chlorinated and there was a dark ring along the tub wall - we opted not to use it. The second floor balcony door did not lock so we placed a pool stick along the sliding door track for our own peace of mind. The same door's sliding screen was off the tract and leaning against the door. I had planned to cook quite a bit during our stay but the grill was filthy and unusable. The air exchange, garland above the stove, celing fans and beams (above the stove) are layered in dust showing the neglect that cabin has seen. This is the first booking we have used through VRBO and will likely be the last. I'm sure this company has years of great reviews, however, our experience was well below our other stays in this area. The next morning, I left a message on the company's answering machine letting them know there were some maintenance issues and housekeeping concerns we had. I did receive a text message later that day offering to send housekeeping to the cabin Saturday morning - which would have been nice. However, by this time, we were one day from checking out and had corrected most of the housekeeping issues when we arrive - plus, we were not comfortable having strangers in the cabin (my mother in law has post-radiation prescription medication she did not want left unattended).

Family mountain getaway
If you are looking for a secluded spot in the mountains and want to see a bear this is a great spot! We stayed here 8 days and saw a bear on 4 seperate occasions. This is a great house for the whole family. We had an amazing time. The house was pretty clean and stocked with everything you need. It does need a deep clean and maybe a few more pots and kitchen utensils like can opener but thats only down side of this house

Beautiful views
Our family stayed here for spring break and I must say the views were beautiful. We did have some problems though once we arrived. The house smelled quit a bit and we had to go buy air freshener to help. The fireplace didn’t work and the fan up stairs was broken along with a huge tear on the pool table. The pockets for the pool table were ripped and in their place was Walmart plastic bags so the balls would fall into those instead of on the floor. The refrigerator was off balance and it felt like every time you would open it that it would almost fall forward on you. There is no cell service at the house and the landline phones didn’t have a dial tone so we had to drive the 20 minutes back into town to get reception to call about these problems. The man I talked to was very helpful and offered for a pool table company to come in and fix the pool table so our kids would be able to use it. That was fixed the next day. They had a maintenance man come about the smell and fix the refrigerator from falling, but the fireplace and fan did not get fixed. While in the hot tub my kids found a acrylic fingernail floating and my husband found one on the sofa as well. We were a little disappointed but the man that I talked to was very friendly and tried to help us as much as possible. I believe he worked for aunt bugs rentals and wasn’t the owner of the home.

Amazing View
This cabin was perfect for out family get away. The view was breathtaking. The kids loved them arcade game and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Definitely make sure you have 4wheel drive, we got lucky with the weather but others might have trouble making it up the driveway. Very steep. Overall, I would definitely recommend this cabin and would stay again myself!

Everything is good except the reception staff and their response
We arrived at the cabin in the midnight and there are no hand wash liquids, paper towels, bath tissues, trash bags and at least dish wash scrubbers. When i called the office, their response was rude and not the way I expected. They simply responded me to buy in a grocery store which is one hour away. The chat service was really good and they got my supplies later on. But one could expect minimum supplies during this covid time. Other than that everything is good. I gave a good rating too. Hope they would change their attitude from now on. Thanks

Nice mountain cabin rental
We enjoyed staying here. The description was accurate as posted on the site. What we liked: Roomy home, functional bedrooms and bathrooms, nice comfortable beds. Great place for family (we had 5 people). Decks are really nice with plenty of seating to relax or have meals. Kids enjoyed the games, pool table, etc. Great view, quiet. Remote from road (10 minutes) but good location to get to activities. Also near some restaurants, shops, gas, general store. Things to be aware of: We have stayed in many cabin homes. In this house you can hear everything through the floors due to the type of planking. There was no access to the garage which was a concern when heavy storms rolled through. There is not a full complement of cooking utensils or newer pans so if you are planning to cook meals you should prepare in advance with newer pans, tongs, spatulas, etc. Biggest concern was the home should have been cleaned better. Dusty under beds and one of the bunk beds was not made when we arrived late at night. As stated, there is only a small supply of convenience items, but typically this includes laundry detergent, shampoo, etc. in small quantities so again be prepared with everything you need in advance to avoid going back into town. There were no cleaning supplies (we bought and left a dishwashing brush). Check-in was more complicated than usual. Usually we do all this through VRBO, but there were added steps through the property company. Also, while wi-fi and texting were accessible, we did not have cellular service available (AT&T). This is a nice property and a good choice for a vacation, could use some attention and cleaning for the price point compared to similar properties we have stayed in.
