"We stayed there for our 10-year anniversary. Nice view. However, we paid an expensive nightly rate for a half board. The main restaurant is supposed to be opened until 10pm. We arrived at 8pm for our reservation. Not even 15min after our arrival, the staff clearly started to do everything possible to make us understand we ought to be leaving asap. "We absolutely loved our stay at Happy Days Guesthouse in La Gaulette and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The guesthouse has such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind. Its location is excellent, with a great variety of restaurants and shops all within walking distance, which made everything very convenient. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, with plenty of room to feel comfortable, and we especially enjoyed having a balcony to relax on. It’s worth noting that there is no lift, only stairs, but this didn’t take away from our experience. The staff were truly wonderful. They were so warm and welcoming and made the whole place feel like home. We genuinely didn’t want to leave. Breakfast each morning was a highlight, with delicious fresh seasonal fruit and a French baguette that we simply couldn’t get enough of. The guesthouse is also ideally located for exploring, with beautiful beaches just a short drive away and many must-see spots in the southwest of Mauritius nearby. Overall, a fantastic stay in a lovely guesthouse. We would definitely recommend it."
