What an amazing hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was large, and very clean, but the real star of the show is the stunning castle itself. There are so many areas to explore. Sitting rooms, the chapel, a pool table room, and the outside pool area is from a fairytale. It’s like going back in time. We felt like royalty. 100% recommended.

The Pousada was a very interesting and historical building. We visited the churches near by but one the highlights was the amazing Museum right on sight. The staff recommended some interesting side trips which let us explore the area. Room was very comfortable and buffet breakfast was excellent.

Amazing stay, we had called ahead to confirm they had a functioning pool and A/C that actually worked, and when we arrived, they had gone to our room ahead of time to turn the A/C on to have it cool when we arrived. The employees were all so friendly, the pool area was fantastic and well kept, the room and views were unreal.

This is a special historic building that has been revived from ruins very sympathetically. Amazing location with panoramic views. The rooms were well appointed. Pool was not ready for the season but loved the uniqueness of the stay, 45 minutes from Lisbon city centre

Great location and ambiance. Even a beautiful wood fire in the fireplace on a cold rainy evening. Very quiet and restful. Interesting museum below filled with relics. Best breakfast of our 3 weeks in Portugal.
