Midemide Lodge

Midemide Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"We took a chance on Midemide for part of our Marovo stay, and we loved it. Location is key to the appeal of this brand new place, as is the friendly, helpful owner himself. The bedroom is small but perfect, with mosquito net and fan. The unit has full bath, and kitchen (for self catering or to have meals prepared). There is an outdoor sitting area with hammocks, and a dock with lots of reef activity beflow. The knot of Islands and mangroves in the northern part of Marovo lagoon belongs to the owner, whose home is next door. So if you want to canoe or kayak, snorkel or hike around, you're free to do so. What's more, the area is a few minutes' boatride away from good snorkeling and from potential manta encounters. The owner is tireless, and acts as cook, tour guide, boat captain, night watchman and everything else. Value for money is very good. Having said this, Midemide is just getting started. You'll get the privilege of staying in a small island realm at a good spot in the lagoon, but don't expect the polish that comes with time. We loved the feeling that here is a man making good on a dream."
