Family-friendly holiday home in Second Valley
Clare's Cottage is a family friendly beachside cottage, situated in Second Valley with only a 400 metre flat walk to the beach.

It has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 8 people comfortably in 2 Queen Sized beds and 4 single bunk beds. It has a large decking area with table and chairs. There is a spacious garden with outdoor shower and a large separate games room for the kids including T.V. lounge, Table tennis table and other games.

Open plan living area and well equipped kitchen with microwave, under bench oven and hotplates, Nespresso coffee machine (you need to bring your own pods), and all the cooking appliances needed.

Lounge area has a T.V. and a blu ray player. Dining area has 8 person table and chairs.

The house has a reverse cycle airconditioner in the lounge area. The bathroom has a shower and a full size bath with separate toilet and there is a separate laundry with a washing machine.

The house situated in a quiet street that is just a short walk that takes you past the childrens playground to the Jetty Store for that litre of milk, coffee or newspaper, bait for the days fishing off the jetty. Or a short drive to Normanville or Yankalilla which has supermarkets, bakeries, cafes, and numerous shops. Enjoy a really great meal or afternoon tea at nearby Leonards Mill, which has won numerous SA Tourism Awards.

Plenty of off street parking, with room to park your boat or caravan

Second Valley is an amazingly protected beach for swimming complete with great snorkeling, jetty fishing, steep coastal cliffs and bush walks ,old boat sheds and fascinating scenery and geological formations help make Second Valley unforgettable.

Located 91 kilometres south of Adelaide, Second Valley is divided into two parts - the old mill on the main road and, down the valley to the sea, a tiny coastal port reminiscent of a Cornish fishing village.

Second valley is ideal as a Kangaroo Island stopover only 15 mins drive from the ferry or 20 mins from Deep Creek Conservation Park with its spectacular scenery and bushwalks. A short drive to several stunning golf courses and plenty more to see and do.

The location of Clare's Cottage is fantastic - within an easy 100m walk there is a convenience store, playground, beach and historic jetty.

Pets are welcome, however the property is fenced but not secure.

Directions

Second Valley is about 91km's South of Adelaide, or about 1.5 hours drive.

You can follow Main South Road all the way from the CBD to Second Valley and on the way you will pass through some of the fine districts that make the Fleurieu Peninsula so spectacular - McLaren Vale, famous for its' wines, Willunga and the Farmers Markets, Yankalilla, Normanville and then following the road right alongside the ocean you will come to Second Valley and turn off at Leonards Mill.

Continue down Finiss Vale Drive. Turn right at Catlow Rd and then left onto Grundy St and Clare's Cottage is number 4 on the left hand side.

Nice relaxing property with fantastic location
Lovely well appointed house, fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay and loved that it was pet friendly. We would definitely go back. The only thing I’d rate it down on was cleanliness, floors were a bit sticky and some of the kitchenware needed a clean, as did the bbq.

Central to Yankalilla, Normanville and beaches, good location.
Has a combustion heater, but not fire guard, so if you have children be aware of this. Property uses septic tank, so water usage signs up everywhere. On suite was locked to stop using water, so if you like a nice long shower may be not for you.

Perfect
I only have good things to say about this property. It is located a short walk from the shop and beach in a quiet street. The house is most thoughtfully set up. It has everything you need and no extra clutter. The beds are very comfortable and whilst the bedrooms are small they are absolutely fine for a holiday stay. The house was spotlessly clean. We took 4 grandchildren under 10 and I cannot be more complimentary about the facilities for them. 4 scooters, a surfboard, the games room set up with games, great books a wi which actually works, Xbox in the main house and a table tennis table with bats and plenty of balls. The kids spent most of their time out there. The outside fire (which we didn’t use) and inside fire are added attractions. Thank you to Grant for a fantastic stay. You have obviously put a lot of effort into maintaining this holiday house with children in mind.

A quiet retreat.
Check in was easy with all the info sent a few days prior. Lovely quiet location. Games room and scooters were a hit with the kids.
