  • Designed by renowned architect Joseph Esherick as one of the original Sea Ranch demonstration homes, Mini-Mod #1 embodies the modest scale, material restraint, and deep connection to the landscape that defined the early Sea Ranch vision. A later addition by acclaimed architect Donlyn Lyndon complements the original structure while preserving its architectural integrity.

    Unlike many homes centered around a single main room, Mini-Mod #1 was intentionally designed as a collection of warm, inviting spaces that flow naturally into the surrounding landscape. The home sits on one of the most private lots in Sea Ranch. Protected by a dense hedgerow, it feels tucked away in its own peaceful forest while still opening toward the Pacific with partial ocean views. From the living room and listening room to the detached gym and office, reading nooks, and outdoor patios, each space offers a peaceful place to relax, gather, or simply enjoy the natural beauty of Sea Ranch.

    Please note:
    • Well-behaved dog is allowed with prior approval. Cats are not permitted due to allergies. Please do not bring unauthorized pets.
    • The original staircases are not suitable for young children (under the age of 12) for safety reason.
    • Because of the coastal environment, occasional insects such as ants may sometimes find their way inside, especially if doors are left open or food is left out.
    • To help keep the home comfortable, please keep doors/windows closed when possible (especially at night) and avoid leaving food out on counters.
    • No parties, events, or commercial photography allowed.
    • During storms, there may occasionally be power outages, no internet, or minor leaks due to the home’s age and coastal exposure.

Perfect house for a couple. Nice furnishings, high-end appliances, quality linens and towels. The kitchen was well-stocked with essentials like cooking oil and spices even though we always bring our own, it's nice to have all of that in case we forget anything. We loved the architecture of the house and the views. The host was easily reachable for any issues, although we had none.
