Lovely contemporary cottage with unobstructed ocean views

  • Gray Whale: Unit 35C Lot 44. Lovely single level contemporary home attractively furnished with unobstructed wide blue water views. Gray Whale house will sleep six people comfortably with its three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom includes a comfy window seat with meadow views for curling up with a good book and watching the deer, foxes, rabbits, and birds that frequent the meadow just outside. A sliding glass door from the master bedroom leads you to the large deck with hot tub and Adirondack chairs for ocean and wildlife viewing. The first guest bedroom has blue water and meadow views and is conveniently located just steps from the guest bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The second guest bedroom has two twin beds for children or singles with a bathroom containing a walk-in shower nearby which is shared with the master bedroom.

    The living room has comfortable couches and chairs with enough seating for the whole family to watch a movie by streaming from their own Netflix or Hulu accounts on the TV. Live TV is provided with YouTube TV. WiFi is available throughout the house for all your connectivity needs. The new gas fireplace will keep you cozy in the cool months.

    The Del Mar Trail crosses the meadow near the home and connects to the Bluff Top Trail for miles of hiking the coastline. On wild weather days white water sprays from waves can be seen from the deck and hot tub. And occasionally, you can see the water spray from passing whales!

    A gas grill is available for use in the enclosed entry courtyard. The light filled kitchen was newly renovated in 2025 and is well equipped for preparing meals in house while staying at Gray Whale and the dining table has seating for six.

    The Del Mar Recreation Center is a bike ride away with access to a heated swimming pool, saunas, showers, and tennis courts (bring your own racket and balls!).

    Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
    Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.

Host had taken care to ensure there was enough of everything from throw blankets to paper goods. Trails are easily accessible as is town from this northern Sea Ranch location. We will be back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Just arrived home from our 3 night trip at The Sea Ranch! What a beautiful spot! The Gray Whale was perfect for our family of 6. The views from the house are spectacular! Two of the rooms have beautiful ocean views and the other has a meadow view with deer roaming every morning and evening. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. its a quick walk from the deck to the coastal trail which winds along the bluffs. So much beauty! The deck was my favorite part to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. One night we watched the sunset from the hot tub! We highly recommend The Gray Whale and can't wait to go back!

The house was well designed with beds and baths on separate sides of living room/kitchen, Ample storage space for a week's supply of cooking ingredients. Great views of the ocean.

Locked ourselves out the first night but Beach Rentals got us back in within minutes. So nice they let us vacation with our dogs. The kitchen had every pot, pan, tool and appliance you could want. Very nice home away from home.
