Mammoth Cave Hiking

Great group location

Stayed with a group of friends to enjoy a birthday, mostly just indoor events, gaming etc. Fantastic deck, the dining area was a great space for board gaming, etc, with a great view. The game room is a nice addition as well

Great VRBO!

This cabin is perfect for family get-together or just hanging out with friends! There’s plenty of room for activities and plenty of beds to accommodate all your people. I stayed there for a weekend with lots of friends and it was a perfect venue for it! The owner makes himself available for any questions you might have too.

We had such amazing stay. The cabin was nice family friendly. We had kids under the age of 4 and not worry one bit about safety or comfort. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Will book again!

Beautiful cabin beautiful view

The cabin was great for our whole family of 4 families. We all had a comfortable and clean place to sleep. Only downsides was that there wasn’t any room for kids to play in the yard, no direct access to water for fishing and fire pit area wasn’t very disable but again the house was fantastic and we did enjoy the entertainment room in the basement a ton!

Amazing Property

This was a great home for my staff team to rent out and use for a much needed staff retreat. The space is gorgeous, spacious, and has all that you need! Ron was an amazing host, and even worked with me on my dog who came along. We couldn’t have been happier with this rental!

Beautiful cabin

The website description is a little off because new owners took over. The hot tub was waiting on a part, so we didn't get to use it and was refunded some money back. The cabin is beautiful with plenty of games and activities to keep you entertained on a rainy day.

Great Family Retreat

This was a perfect location for our multi-generational family get-together. The layout of the house (bedrooms, large kitchen and dining room, large decks, and multiple family rooms), game room, hot tub, and proximity to the Barron River Lake, were fabulous for our gathering. It also allowed for easy access to Mammoth Cave, Nashville, the Corvette Museum, and Bourbon Country. The property is well-worn and has new owners, who I'm sure will resolve the list of maintenance issues we encountered.

Enjoyable Family Hang-Out

We had quite an enjoyable stay -- 14 of us. We had plenty of room & enjoyed the amenities. We cooked... and ate... and walked to the park at the end of the road... explored the edge of the lake all the way back to the cabin... relaxed in the hot tub... watched a bit of tv... played hide-&-go-seek... enjoyed the fabulous view of Barren River Lake... had a fire out back... and just an all-around good time. Communication was great & check-in was super easy. Thanks!

Mothers birthday weekend

Our immediate family takes a long weekend trip every December to celebrate our mother’s birthday. This place was amazing! The game room was a big hit but would be great if the lower level had a couch to lounge on. The house has an incredible view and open floor plan creating great gathering area for the family to hang out. We played a big game of family bingo which we have never done but will be making a new tradition of. The house was pet friendly so our fur family was able to enjoy the get away as well! I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin.

Wonderful house on Barren Lake

My group of 7 thoroughly enjoyed this house. It was just as described on line - very roomy, open with a large deck facing the lake and a nice game room. Comfortable for all. We used the gas grill on the deck and had plenty of room on the kitchen island to cook our meals. We rented a pontoon at the marina at the state park and our experience there was extremely positive. We also took a tour at Crystal Onyx cave and liked that. The local Dollar General Store was surprisingly well stocked for items we needed. Having the sitting area on the second floor was a real bonus for us. Highly recommend this house especially for a large group. Jean was very attentive and responsive to my questions. We would definitely rent this house again.

80th Birthday celebration.

If you are thinking about booking this beautiful cabin, don't delay. No need to keep looking, book today. This place is awesome. We had such a wonderful time over the Easter weekend. Ron is so easy to work with. He always got back to me before our stay, answering questions within minutes. Once we arrived, everything was perfect. Our Grandchildren loved the game room and the hot tub. The fire pit was a great place to sit around and talk nonstop. Our family celebration was so enjoyable and a memory we will share for a lifetime. The view of Barren River was just beautiful. So nice to sit on the deck and take it all in. This place deserves a 5-star rating. Thanks Ron!

An incredible view and house!

I would consider us somewhat connoisseurs of vacation home properties given that we have three kids. We visited Jane's property as a group of two families with a total of five adults and five children between ages of 7 and 13. I can say that there is plenty of space for everybody to have their own personal bed as well as abundance of private bathroom so we are we're not all sharing. The view of the lake is absolutely incredible. For the older boys they were able to scale the cliff down to the lake for fishing but not advise that for some of the younger children. Kitchen is well stocked and I was able to easily cook several meals and breakfast. Mammoth Caves was a 45 minute drive which is just fine for us to be able to get a property large enough and comfortable enough for our group. Jane went out of her way to answer any questions I had and provide some recommendations before and during our stay. This is not a sterile, company-run vacation property at all that leaves you with the bare minimum in supplies and comfort! The house felt like a home away from home.

Wonderful spot for a family trip

We had a great time at the Cozy Cabin for our family trip. The house was spacious and large enough for our whole group of 7 adults and 2 kids (the many bathrooms was appreciated), and the game room in the basement was definitely utilized. It does take a bit of a drive to get to many of the nearby attractions (20-40 min) and we found quite a few things were closed during the week, but since our main goal was family time at the house, we didn’t have an issue with it. There were a few things that could use a bit of a deeper clean and they may want to have the cleaning crew check under beds and couches, but there was nothing egregious. There are also some things that are well worn, but it is evident that the owners are doing updates/upgrades to things, so I imagine this will only improve with time. There is plenty of furniture (inside and outside) and things to do, and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking, so it makes for a great gathering spot. Overall, we had a very positive experience and we would recommend this location and consider it again if traveling to this area in the future!

A great way to start the New Year

This cabin is such a terrific find! Our family takes a trip every New Year to a different location and this one definitely did not disappoint! There were 8 adults in our group and 2 littles under 4 and there was more than enough space for all of us. There are 2 living room spaces, one upstairs and one down on the main level so plently of places for a large group to spread out. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we’ve encountered. There were pots large enough for soups and anything in between, cutting boards, strainers, baking sheets, all the things. They even have a crockpot and a Keurig as well as a traditional coffee maker. As a group that enjoys cooking together on trips this kitchen was wonderful! The scenery of the location was beautiful and it was a perfect middle ground for many attractions so we found something to do almost everyday and for the days we stayed in, the pool table, ping pong, and foosball tables kept us entertained. They even have board games and books for children available to enjoy. Communication with the owners was excellent and prompt as well. The only thing that we would recommend to make this cabin even better, would be direct access to the lake from the property. Overall we loved the week we spent here and look forward to returning hopefully during the summer.

Absolutely gorgeous

The proper manager was quick to respond, courteous, & friendly. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous. It was very spacious and decorated adorably. The game room was a major crowd pleaser. We spent a lot of time in there (unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there). We all loved the cabin and would consider staying again. The minuses are that it’s not soundproof. You could hear everyone moving around from the bottom floor to the third floor which makes trying to go to sleep a little difficult. Whoever does the cleaning needs to up their game. We had a decided to cook a Saturday family meal. All burners on the stove were dirty, with grease in every burner pan, so I had to clean them, not ideal for a weekend getaway. Most of the utensils were greasy or had small bits food on them. I’m assuming the food was a dishwasher issue, but nonetheless, not good. When we went to load the dishwasher as requested it was full and had to unload before we could load our dishes. My daughter & her husband found hair and fuzz their tub, so they didn’t use it. The rest of the place was pretty clean. We really didn’t have a view of the lake because the trees had grown so much there was only one small area to see the lake. That was a bummer. We were going to go kayaking, but instead of two kayaks there was only one so we didn’t do that either. Seclusion, privacy, peaceful, family time, it was great. Had a great family vacation. House was very spacious and clean. My family had a great time playing games in the basement. My 4 star rating is because the temperature of the house was 77-79 degrees every afternoon. The afternoon sun coming in through the large windows made the upstairs quite uncomfortable. The windows are gorgeous, but having blides or shades would've really helped.

Wedding weekend

We absolutely loved this cabin! We hosted a small wedding for our daughter, and it was perfect for the occasion. Even though the storms kept us from having it outside, everything still turned out great. The check in process was very easy. The cabin was super clean. There’s more than enough room for a big family. We look forward to staying here again in the future!
